For the price it is worth every penny and should be worth more really. Crystal clear Full HD makes it even more nothing like it. It truly makes me want a bigger one of its kind. For College student looking for a great tv of the dorm room without compromising quality this is the way to go perfect for gaming and blue ray movies or hd tv. Even for the parents looking to give the kids their own gaming tv this is an awesome choice no compromise for quality and with all the devices that require that HD capability and HDMI no problem for the tv has 7 ways to get that crystal clear image or video. Perfect for gaming, leisure, business, anything really.

Can only assume folks hating on the sound quality are audiophiles because to the average listener the sound quality is incredible! Got the 32 inch for the master bedroom, sit about 10 - 15 feet away, and can have the TV volume at 13 and can hear it fine. Picture is great even though I'm only hooked to digital and not HD (not paying Comcast anymore money for another HD box). Yes, not near as crisp, clear, and colorful as if it were hooked to HD but still holds its own and good enough for late evening golf viewing!

I bought this because I needed an HDTV with an RCA audio stereo out on it. Samsung, for example, only sells optical audio out which won't work on a regular stereo as it include dolby digital encoding. So this Sony is nice because Sony was smart enough to realize that there are many people who are happy with stereo or have very nice stereo systems (like I do) and don't want or need surround. If bought on sale, this can be a good deal if you only use cable or satellite. It will work with surround too, of course. However, if you are like me and use over the air (OTA) HDTV plus a Roku box and maybe a Mac Mini, you will miss the channel guide imbedded in the PISP signal (all the stuff besides sound and image the station sends out). Sony only provides a channel guide using the PSIP data in more expensive models. (it is a co-brand deal they have with TV Guide.) So, this could be a good set for cable users. Not at all for OTA users. Look to other brands but not Panasonic, Samsung and double check on other brands as they might not do the channel guide on every model like Sony. Because I need that channel guide, I am returning this.

My first LCDTV and bought after literally months of study and research, Yes there are 32's that are cheaper (Vizio, Insignia, etc.) but "you get what you pay for" is an adage that has served me well. This is a legitimate Sony product, not a TV made with a hodge podge of different suppliers components. I've always had good luck with Sony and am brand loyal. The picture is excellent. I found that the Ambient Sensor, while effective in a bright room, is better left off so the backlighting can be controlled manually. After a few other adjustments to taste I was greeted with vivid whites and blues, lifelike fleshtones and slick blacks. HD programming looks unreal and SD signals are made better. For a one bedroom apartment 32" is big enough in my opinion. Try measuring before heading to the store for a 42+... The only quibble is the sound. The speakers are loud and the equalizer in the settings really helps but next to the picture quality, I expected just a little more in the audio department. Otherwise, an excellent TV for under $500. Considering that my Dad bought a 47" Sony Trinitron CRT for over three times as much in the 1990's we have nothing to complain about. Highly recommended!

I received this as a gift for Christmas and it runs like a dream. PS3 is excellent picture and sound (with an HDMI cable, of course). Blu-ray discs blow regular DVDS away when viewed on this baby. I can't recommend this TV highly enough. Great price, excellent brand name and quality. Don't spare another minute; go buy this as your newest HDTV.

TV has a very good picture and seems to do well in all light conditions. Speakers works better when hooked to the VCR so I suspect that I would need a dolby speaker system to correct that problem. Controls are fairly complex, but if you want to fine tune everything the options are there for you. Be nice to have a cheat sheet to explain them all. Surprised that not all HD shows are in full 1080. I do notice the six leg effect on moving actors but it doesn't bother us that much. Bought a Sony BluRay player and that is a nice addition.

I update the firmware. And it is up and running. I wish the next update, if any, will have AVI, MP4 format support from usb.

I researched a lot of tvs before buying this one. I needed a tv around 32" because I have a small living room. The one feature that attracted me to this one was the fact that it was able to display 1080p in a small size, combined with a high contrast ratio. I researched it at the store before finding out that Sony had a deal with a professional organization that I belong to, and was able to get it from Sony Style for cheaper with free shipping. The shipping was supposed to take 4 days, but I got it in two. I hooked it up to my new blu-ray player (also a Sony product) and watched my first HDTV movie - Avatar. The movie looked great! I really have no complaints about this set at all and highly recommend you buy it.

I was looking at some 720*'s, but for just a few dollars more, I decided purchase this 1080p HDTV. Sony has been a part of my, since the "Sony Walkman." Sony products are known for the latest technology (features).

The picture quality on an HD signal is amazing. I compared a couple of tv's side by side, and this Sony really stood out amongst the rest. The sharpness and color is breathtaking. Not to mention, SD signal looks very good compared to other tv's as well. It has a great design that fits almost in any room. There are a lot of settings to suit everyone's needs on brightness, sound, contrast, you name it. The only thing that is a con with this tv is the sound. It is very crisp and accurate, but it is a little bit more quiet than other flat screens. Overall this is a great tv for just about anything ranging from games to sports to movies.

I purchased this TV as a bedroom TV / Computer screen but after several attempts of connecting a laptop computer through HDMI to it it does not work at all. Reduced the screen refresh rate and computer resolution to 800x600 it would still not display through HDMI. Overall sound from the TV speakers are fair. Volume will need to be in the 20s to hear most channels. external speaker hookups works fair. External speakers will need to be manually turned off in order for the sound to go through built in speakers.

I didn't like this LCD TV when I had lot of expectation from SONY as I had Bravia before and I was impressed. Compare to Sony's Brand I don't know why they kept this model. Very poor from feautures point of view. I DON'T RECOMMEND.

The angle view is still not that good as it says. I was told that 2010 is much better than 2009 and I see no differenced. Picture quality in color is poor and looks more cartoonist. . This model has too much bright blue, backlight and gamma. I had to go in the advance setting, turn off the ambient sensor setting, adjust the red, blue, and green, adjust the the black corrector and other settings. It is better but not as good as the viz. My whole family has the viz and loves it. I wish I had the replacement of the viz since I am disappointed with the Sony. Sorry Sony! I ended up with this model by no choice. My Viz ended up to be defective and the store I bought it from decided to sell a different brand. I would of preferred a replacement since the viz has a much better picture quality with color enhancement that made the pictures look actual.

I'm not a person who works in an electronics store or is what is considered a tekkie, however, I do own alot of sony products, specifically one of the last 60" Grand Wega's (7yrs old and still has a comparable picture as most hanging on the walls at the favorite electronics outlets). In an attempt to equip everyone in the houshold with a hd monitor we now have a few and by FAR this new Bravia has the best picture. Non-Blu Ray: the picture is so crisp and clean; the colors are amazing! With Blu Ray: it goes without being said. The only problem that I have found is when veiwing at an extreme angle, the picture tends to darker, otherwise no other cons have been encountered. I have a PS3 and Blu ray player on my Viao and both show on the TV amazingly. In closing; before purchasing this TV I compared the 60" LCD to the 60"LED as they were on display one above the other and of course the LED was just a little brighter but the LCD was hand in fist and cheaper. If you want a excellent monitor for your bedroom, then look no further.

I work in an electronic sales store, so I get to look at televisions all day everyday. I've been agonizing for a couple of months over which one to buy for my bedroom while saving the money for it. While the KDL-32EX400 is not on our shelves, last year's model was. I had my heart set on buying it in spite of my co-workers insisting I buy the Vizio VOJ32 which would've saved me $50. By the time I had money saved neither was available in my store any longer. And let me just say, that's MY good fortune, because this model is leaps and bounds ahead of them both in terms of picture quality. In fact, it's the best I've seen in this size range period, and I look at TVs all day long. I've hooked it up to a Standard Definition receiver with standard components and it's still looking crisp... much better than my 42" Vizio Plasma did before I got the HD receiver from DirecTV. II can't seem to come out of the bedroom to watch the larger TV now, and I don't even have the HD receiver for it yet. I've also hooked it up to a PS3 via HDMI. Blu-rays look simply fantastic. I'd love to see how the LED version of this TV stacks up, because I can't imagine the difference is worth double the price. Maybe it is, but I'm very pleased. The contrast is remarkable. The automatic backlight adjustment is very convenient. It's a superb television with an excellent picture that completely outclasses any of its competitors in the price range. If you're looking for a beautiful TV at an affordable price, take a long hard look at this TV. No, it's not the cheapest 32" on the market. But for a little more you'll get something excellent. I can't give an accurate "Reliability" rating yet as I've only had the TV a week now. I will happily update this as time goes on, but judging by Sony's proven history with television reliability, I doubt I (or you) have much to worry about.
