I have bought and remained rather loyal to the sony brand ( even though It typically cost 5-10% more) because their products to date have remained functional over time for me. That streak has just ended with the kdl-40v4100 flatscreen that only went for 25 months, of which one month is was not installed. They only warranty their products for one year so they must have less confidence in their quality than I should have had when I purchased the product. Unfortunately, the extended warranty of my credit card expired a month ago. Looks like I'll have to change my family's goto electronics company.

I just got this TV about a week ago and think it is a great deal. The picture is great when using a high def source and the design makes it look great in any room.

My main reason for purchasing this tv was to play my PS3 on. I just got it today and i'm absolutely amazed with it. The one feature i love the most is the picture in picture. I can actually watch tv while playing video games at the same time. If your thinking about purchasing an LCD, do get THIS one or a SONY.

I have always trusted Sony products for there reliability and innovation. This TV is everything I was expecting, and more! It truly is the best way to play my PS3 and my blu-ray's have never looked better! If their is one piece of advise that I can give as a (former) Circuit City associate it is always go with Sony. Even if there products seem more expensive they are always worth the price due to features and superb craftsmanship.

I bought this tv in May 2008 and have it set up in my bedroom. After owning it for 8 months, this tv has been wonderful. I also have a sony 32xbr1 and a Sony 50 inch SXRD 2000 model 1080p. This tv has better motion then the xbr1 but the SXRD has a slightly better picture. This bad boy has 4 hdmi ports which is more then you will need for awhile. I use them for my cable box,Xbox 360, PS3, and soon for my computer. I'm using the computer through component at the moment and the quality is excellent. I'm usually about 6-9 feet away from the tv so 720p or 1280x720 works better then 1080p, but 1080p is much sharper and used when playing games. I've watched about 20 or so blu-ray including Transformers and all the DBZ Movies released so far and can say they look better then any tv in the price range that isn't a Panasonic plasma. Sports look great just not as smooth as if you have 120hz. The Cinemotion feature actually gives you a semi-120hz feel to it which I found pretty cool. Only thing I didn't like it for was rockband as it caused stuttering in charts. Overall for the price range, feature set, awesome design, and great picture, only a plasma can beat it but because of how much they heat up a room and less reliability, I went with the Sony. Highly recommended unless you can afford a W,Z,XBR 6,7, or 8.

Just got this 40" LCD monster. It was for the bedroom so I thought it might be to big but it looks perfect the tv doesnt blind you when the lights are low. It was between this one and the Samsung 550 series. But the picture is more clear but yet not as bright. The speakers are louder and I love the wireless speaker options Sony gives you that are compatible with the Bravia.

After days of research and hours spent combing the stores, I found the KDL-40v4100 to be the best value in features and performance. It has everything you need to truly enjoy watching TV again! The TV Guide menu is the icing on the cake! The system menus are easy to navigate, and the features are vast. The picture quality is outstanding! Overall, this is a superb TV.

This is my first LCD Flat Panel HDTV. Before I buy anything I spend weeks looking at ratings and trying to find the best deal. During my research I kept coming back to Sony. They consistantly have the best ratings for picture and quality. Trust me, you'll love this TV!!!
