We've owned this TV since December of 2008. Initially, we were very happy with it. The sound is good, the picture was sharp and vivid. But after only 14 months of service, the picture resolution has begun to go funky. The two attached photos show the screen beginning to go funky and a few minutes later when it's gone to complete lines. The sound remains fine throughout these episodes; these errors occur with both TV reception and when playing DVDs. Sony's recommendation is to unplug the TV for a few minutes so it can "reset" itself. This sometimes resolves the issue for a few hours, sometimes for only a few minutes. The anticipated repair will cost more than the TV is worth. I expected better quality from a name like Sony. I expected a TV that doesn't tear up a mere two months out of warranty. I expected Sony to stand behind their product with more than just a recommendation to "unplug the television for a few minutes." I'm greatly dissatisfied with both this television and with Sony's unwillingness to help get the issue corrected. This was a $1600 television -- That's over $100 a month before it tore up; I could rent a TV cheaper than that.

After 14 months of use, the picture has become plagued by green scan lines being visible in low-light scenes. Next, the box indicates the set operates at 120 hertz but the back of the set clearly indicates it operates only at 60 hertz so low-light scenes in movies also plaged by morphing heads as the scan lines struggle to keep up with motion. Clearly a bait and switch instrument. The vivid setting overdrives the components but is very difficult to set otherwise.

Ive had it for about a month now and by far, best picture for the price. It's amazing what a difference the 120Htz makes when watching a DVD or Blu-ray. My Playstation 3 looks awesome and the contrast is unbelievable. The dark's are darker than any other LCD I've ever seen. Would definitely recommend.

Elegant, and easy to install. I'm not sure if the plastic screen would be better than glass or not. We have a toddler and have to keep it out of reach. The Normal picture with standard TV seems just a tad off but this could be because if you look at wide screen some things seem distorted. I like the remote except the channel button is at the bottom and ergonomically incorrect. The worst is the Sound Leveler which is totally decetive advertizing but the book has all the caveats. I like the different pre-programmed looks becuase if you have a lot of light in the room you can change it to have richer color and vice versa. I always over buy. I'm told 120MHz is better but hard to judge. Cheaper model will work too and I'm pretty picky.

This is the first flat pannel TV i have purchased and i am blown away by the picture quality. I combined this TV with the 350 Sony Blue Ray player and the Sony Audio system. The HDMI hook ups make this a breeze to set up.

This television is excellent. The MotionFlow technology really makes things smooth and literally POP! Shipping was quick and it arrived in near perfect condition, even on the outside of the box! This TV is only worth it if you'll be watching Blu-Ray or playing 1080P video games on it--otherwise, don't buy it because you're just overdoing it. The colors look excellent, and the contrast ratio natively is astounding; there is absolutely no need to use the dynamic contrast with the TV (ACE I think they call it) because it only takes away detail. The menu is very easy to use and even looks nice considering it's just a menu. My only complaint is the lack of extensive picture calibration options--it has some, don't get me wrong. Most people don't bother with this, but this is something i actually appreciate. I can say, however, that even without them, the television still looks excellent.

I really enjoy the picture quality of this tv and I can say that I'm glad I spent the extra money to buy a TV with 120hz. It makes so much of a difference I cant describe it. The sony navigation menus for the tv are nice and simple much like the sony PSP. I overall love this set and its by far the best bang for the buck.

This is a great TV. When your in a pitch black room and you see that illuminated Sony emblem, you know that your money is worth it. It was soo simple to set-up that i didn't even read the manual to setup my surround sound system, blu-ray, xbox 360, and TV. Everything set-up like a breeze. My only compliant is the menu. I can be difficult at times to know and forget which menu you're changing, like the blu-ray and TV menus which look identical. But overall, this TV producing elegant, vivid, and explosive color really add that little something to your living room
