My husband & i have tried everything to try to fix the picture. We can't read the words at the bottom of the picture or the sides. The peoples heads are cut of at the top of the screen. I would not purchase another sony. The Sony TV in our bedroom at times loses the sound. We have to reset everything. Sony isn't what it use to be.

We purchased this Sony TV about a 1 1/2 years ago. For the last 6 months the picture has increasingly gotten darker. We can barely see the picture anymore. Of course, it didn't begin doing this until the one year warranty was out. We have gotten NO support from SONY other than who to call for repair. So now we're stuck with a BIG tv and a picture that we can't see. In addition to problems with the picture, the volume fluctuates even with the steady sound feature that SHOULD prevent the sound from changing when going from a program to a commercial. We are VERY DISAPPOINTED with this tv.

I bought this TV almost a year ago. Simply Amazing.. Everyone who sees the HD picture is blown away. The picture is so clear, television shows frequently look fake because of the clarity around the set. Family members have Samsung, Pioneer, Sharp, Hitachi, and Phillips, they all agree, THIS IS THE BEST.. Picture in Picture is great when connected properly, and the TV guide feature is very convenient. Highly recommend the W series. only Con: Older models do not have internet connection and newer ones do. A Bravia link or PS3 settles this though

WOW we bought this tv about 10 months ago and have been astonished by the clarity and functionality of the entire set. I would greatly recommend this to anyone. infact I did to a couple friends and both acutally ended up buying the KDL-52W4100 and both have been just tickled to death with the quality and thanked me for doing all the research.

Fabulous TV! I went to the store fully intending to spend about 1/2 of what I ultimately paid for this Sony, but man was it worth it! Terrific image and fantastic with a Blu Ray movie to watch on it! And I'm still not done learning all of the bells and whistles its capable of performing. If you buy it, you won't be disappointed!

Always consider Sony when we purchase TV's - Others considered were Samsung and Sharp. Initially Samsung had the Sony beat but the seller was able to meet the price and we went with this Sony. We actually have this 46" in our bedroom and we have seen things that we have never seen before, i.e. the realism and quality. I install TV's and other equipment for a living and have to say that it was a little cumbersome to mount (weight) but well worth it. Also enjoy that the inputs are located closer to the edge of the TV - making it easy to connect a PC or other cabling. This is one of the first things I check before purchasing a TV... being sure that the connections are located in an area of the TV where I wouldn't have to remove the TV off the wall to connect cabling. We just purchased a Bravia DVD Link as well and are satisfied with it's functions. The Remote functions are not "hand friendly" to me - we have had the TV for about a month and still getting used to the functions on the remote - I just don't think the remote is "hand/finger friendly," i.e., holding it in one hand and controlling the majority of functions needed to change channels, volume, menu and so forth.

As soon as this package was delivered to my work place I knew it would be awesome. 46" widescreen looks SO much better than the plain old 21" tv we used to have. The box did have a gouge in the side that the display was on, but there was plenty of space and packing material that this did not even come close to damaging the product. I would say this was packed very well for shipping. Personally, if prices for shipping could stay near the same, I'd like to see another shipping company make the delivery - with uniforms closer to the color of cardboard. In my experience, said company can be faster than the ground shipping that was offered. Video quality of this TV is great. I have found nothing to complain about. Once, I thought I saw something wierd, but it was gone so fast and never returned I suspect it was most likely something in the program's signal rather than a tv problem. I found no shadows, no dead pixels, no bright or dull spots. In my darkened living room, I didn't see anything like background light near the edges of the screen as some have found on LCD TV's. I really like the XMB Xross Media Bar. It is very similar to how the menu is driven in the Sony PS3, so navigating PS3 and TV is very smooth, with no EXTRA learning curve. I REALLY like that this TV is 120Hz, I swear I play fast action FPS games on it most of the time with my PS3 and never see a hint of a blur or skip. It seems like I can see every bullet possible whizzing past my character's head. I thought I was going to need a surround sound system right away - my living room is about 3x as deep as the TV is wide, but the audio from this TV is excellent. I'm sure that a theater system would sound amazing, but I'm for sure not in a rush to get one, because the TV speakers and audio clarity is more than adequate for what I need. I only wish I had told my wife I was buying a 46" TV!

I was hoping to have everything connected through the HDMI cables and then simply connect from the TVs optical out into my receivers optical in, but there is echo/lag that occurs. So, a A/V receiver is needed now. Also, when playing something like Rock Band, you have to set the lag for audio/video and it comes out to something high like 113ms for video and 87ms for sound, both of which make your drum/guitar hits far after you actually make the motion. My only other complaint is out of the box, everyone who saw the TV thought it was broken because it was so dim, even after bumping the backlight to MAX; turns out there is a light sensor the automatically adjust brightness, but its ALWAYS far to low, so we turned it off and now its great. I wish changing the backlight would make the overall brightness of the automatic setting higher/lower but it is completely disabled. This TV has beautiful picture and the sound is better than any TV I have heard, it really competes with my sound system and I think we will use it as center channel. The other awesome feature is the ability to simplify things byusing the sony blu-ray player the sony BDP-S350 which once powered on, automatically turns on the TV and switched input. once turned off, the TV goes back to cable mode. I found that the built in guide works great but we have a DRV box through the cable company now so it wont be used. This TV is thin and has good cable management, I recommend a set of cable wraps to consolidate wires once set-up.

Got this W-Series for my birthday. Now have Sony BluRay, HDCable/DVR, Old Sony DVD/VCR (for backups) Wii, PC laptop, my old TiVo - I forget what else! All pllaying thru my Sony Surround sound! There's STILL several inputs I don't even know 'what for?' EVERYthing that's displayed on it looks like a LIVE painting! The all-black surround lets you see the picture clearly. Videos of vertical bars like columns are sharp and clear - NO waviness. This thing is truly the NEXT BEST thing - better than sliced bread! Come on over and watch!

My wife and i purchased this television over the weekend and my only regret is waiting as long as i did to get an HDTV. Watching ESPN in HD is like night and day in terms of clarity and picture quality. I was on the fence between this model and an XBR. The XBR is great but for me i can't see spending the extra money as this model delivers. I have never been disappointed with any Sony product i have owned over the years and this TV is easy to set up and use. The menus are user friendly and took about 30 minutes to unload it from the car and set it up. I highly recommend this product to anyone who i looking for a really good value and high quality product.

Don't waste valuable time reading all the reviews of different brands like I did. Just buy a Sony and you will never be disappointed. I first purchased a Samsung b/c of the ratings, but the picture lacked depth and richness. I exchanged for this Sony and the difference is like night and day. This set is easy to use and has a beautiful picture. After telling a friend about it, he returned his Vizio and bought the same set....he agrees that this HDTV has the best picture of them all...sound is great too. Sony has been doing it right for so long now, why bother with any other brand? The ratings you read about are a bunch of bunk.... use your own brain and figure it out....I finally did.
