I bought this tv, worked perfect until someone called to extend the warranty. I refused to purchase and the next day, my tv no longer worked, wouldn?t even turn on! A red light keeps flashing. Probably just a coincidence however many say the same thing. I will never purchase a Sony TV ever.

I'm so sad, we liked our tv but something is defective and the image has lines continuously and keeps jumping and no one picks up the phone.... so I guess we have to buy another one... should I buy Sony again, I wonder now...

With four generations of family having resided in this home over the past 15 years, every person has had his or her own favorite TV Brand. Mine is, and always has been Sony, and everybody else in the house wished they had done the research I had done. And they all ended up doing so as they moved on to the next chapters in their lives.

Bought this TV brand new. It sat in a box in a cool dry area for the last couple of years. I used the TV for about 6months on an occasional basis. Now the TV has some red flashing light on it and it wont turn on.

We originally purchased this TV for our Florida Condo. We ultimately sold the condo and moved the unit to our house in the northeast. After 6 months in the hills of New Hampshire, the TV started to exhibit ghost images and lines across the screen. After contacting Sony support, we were ale to clear up the picture temporarily but it has reverted back to the ghosting problem again and multiple factory resets has not worked. We will have to replace this as it is well out of warranty.

I bought this TV from Sony about 7 months ago and I have had no problems with it. The only challenge that I experienced was in how to set the clock and timer on it. It was not intuitive, but once I downloaded the instruction manual that explained how the process worked, it was fine. The picture is outstanding.

I bought my daughter a 40" smart Sony TV for college. I liked it so much that I bought this 48" version to replace our living room TV. I love it. The “smart” part gives us built-in Netflix and amazon. No extra boxes are required. The picture is awesome. It weighs next to nothing. It is amazing how far TVs have come. I dropped cable TV about two years ago so I use this with over-the-air (OTA) TV (plus streamed TV). This TV has a feature where you push a “guide” button and it actually creates a TV guide-like display where you can see a matrix of all programs for all channels (I get 51 OTA channels) for the next several hours. That is pretty darn amazing. Each channel must transmit that programming information and this TV collects it and displays it. The receiver is also quite sensitive. I get more channels than my old TV. I thought our old TV was good. I paid an arm and a leg for it in 2006 to be an early adopter of high definition. But this new TV blows it away.

Wanted to get a bigger TV for the new Living room. Had 40 inch sharp. When seeing Sony Tv's in the store the picture always wowed me, except now. The default setting are horrible and when I try and adjust it just makes certain things like movies look a little better while sports will look bad. Don't know if something is off with the TV but definitely didn't meet my expectations of Sony.

No power cord had to buy one at radio shack. Missing parts for the wall mount And best of all the frame around the screen was cracked. And the picture had ghosting. Then I got to contact Sony customer service to send it back.

I have electric consumption monitoring system on the house and this new 48" LCD pulls less electricity then my 24" LCD computer monitor not alone the 42" LCD TV that this new one replaced. Dust and heat not nearly as bad as the old one since it uses a small external brick for it's power supply. This new 48" is thin and very light. It has a great image and I am Video Tech. so I should know. Yes it’s no 4K TV but for real world TV receivers at 1080P resolution its quite good enough. The update rate is good enough for most sports and racing. I like my basketball and formula one and both look great on this TV. For high level gamers it might not be enough but for most videos whether it comes from online, PlayStation or from a TV receiver this image and sound is very good at resemble distance from the TV (10 to 12 feet away). For the price you can't beat this TV and being factory Sony product its interfaces and reliability is the best. The 8 year old 42" Sony that I am replacing it with did not fail it went to the bed room because Sony products just keep going!

Our requirements were very specific - 110/220 flexible voltage and Euro/USA compatibility. And of course, affordability. This model was perfect. The picture quality is excellent. We saw no reason to buy more than 1080p, as there are few sources available to take advantage of greater resolution. The internet functions are quite clumsy, and non-Sony streaming video is not supported, but those aren't especially important to us. We're very pleased.

This television has a very clear picture; vivid colors and sharpness. It also has good features (wi-fi, social media, etc.). The only disappointment for me is the TV does not have "monitor out" or any ports in which to connect an older stereo receiver. However, it does have HDMI ports of course and digital optical.

The aspect ratio of the picture can not be changed directly from the remote. The remote is too small and makes changing the volume and channel very difficult. The remote has a very narrow beam width and must be aimed directly at the receiver or else it will not function. The unused (hidden channels) can not be deleted requiring an input at the remote of 2.1 instead of just 2. With only two connections in the rear of the television, the antenna and HSMI, using the remote is a multiple step function instead if just changing between the only two connections. The manual is useless and the one stored in the TV is not much better and difficult to use. Other than those items, the picture is satisfactory.

I've own it for about a month now and have been satisfied. Fits nicely in the master bedroom and has a good viewing angle from the sides. Wireless connection to my router without any drops when streaming which is a huge plus.

I ordered my 48W600B TV at 2:30p.m., received confirmation at 7:35p.m. and the TV was at my door the next day at noon...pretty good service seeing I live in a small town. It was easy to set up (5 minutes) and works better than I expected...an awesome bang for the buck.It's very early in my Sony experience (3 weeks) but I'm hoping for the best....I sure hope the closing of all the Sony stores in Canada isn't a negative reflection on the product or a bad sign?
