The Sony KDL-60R520A 60" LED Internet TV is a Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Edge LED Backlight technology, which enhances contrast and reproduces images with sharp clarity. The TV also features built-in Wi-Fi, Ethernet connectivity, Miracast wireless mirroring and Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL). With Wi-Fi, you can stream a variety of Internet content from the Sony Entertainment Network, as well as DLNA home network content. Miracast and MHL allow you to connect your compatible mobile device to the TV, so you can mirror - either wired or wirelessly - your mobile media on the TV's large, bright 1920 x 1080 screen.

Besides Edge LED Backlight technology, this TV also supports Live Color technology to emphasize vividness of color. Plus, Motionflow XR 240 ensures fast-paced action movies and sports are blur-free and more natural looking. Other video features include an Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE), Digital Noise Reduction and 24P True Cinema. For connectivity, the TV is outfitted with four HDMI inputs, a shared component/composite input, a digital coaxial audio output, dual USB 2.0 ports and more. The USB connections support multimedia playback on the big screen of multiple video, audio and photo files formats.

The TV's audio features are as impressive as its video features. It supports Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Pulse and 5.1-channel surround sound via the coaxial output for lifelike surround sound through your AV receiver. There are also multiple sound modes to choose from including Standard, Music, Cinema, Game and Sports. The TV supports Steady Sound Automatic Volume Control as well. You can even connect your Handycam camcorder to the TV and it will output the 5.1-channel recorded audio track through the TV and out to your surround sound home theater speakers.

The R520 Series LED TV also provides a unique receiver-less television viewing option if you are a DIRECTV customer. This feature allows you to place your DIRECTV Genie Whole-Home HD DVR box in any room of your house and wirelessly stream content to the TV. This is especially useful if you are planning to wall mount your TV since all that will be visible is your TV panel hanging on the wall like a picture frame. Other unique features for this model include the onboard iManual, Photo Frame Mode, BRAVIA Sync, Dynamic Backlight Control and the free Skype calling function that works with the optional Skype camera (sold separately).
