I have ordered this headphones in Czech Republic and tried them with iPhone 5c and iPhone 6. With the 3,5 mm cable, the sound is not bad and it's very loud in max volume, but my old MDR-V55 has very much more clarity in the midrange and more refined treble while using same source. The sound from the built-in headphone amp has NO CHANGE in comparison to 3,5 mm jack and has even MUCH MORE LOWER max volume (It all sounds very quiet). How is it possible when it's supposed to improve the sound from iPhone? I thought it was just FAKE pair. So I returned them and ordered them again. But, they were the same again. I don't know what to think about it!

I've sampled ALOT of different headphones and purchased several over the years, before I came across these totally by accident. I'd never heard of them before. They were on sale and the salesperson recommended them. I was very skeptical because my previous pair of Sony (noise-cancelling) headphones were very disappointing. I was reluctant to even try them, but I was so wrong, These are some of the best sounding headphones I have ever experienced, bar none, at any price. Incredible range, depth, and clarity, and a very reasonable price.

I picked these up online for under the recommended retail price just recently (having seen the regular retail price of around £250) and think for this price these are an absolute steal. Not sure I'd be quite as happy if I'd paid £250. Don't like that they only have 8 hours battery time. While this is MORE than enough for any one listening session (or a day out) you do have to remember to charge them each and every day if you are a heavy user. Do like that they are comfortable. Very comfortable. Also the sound quality is excellent. Deep, hard hitting, tight bass. Lovely smooth and rich mids and tingling sharp (but not shrill) highs. Soundstage is excellent and instrument separation seems correct and accurate. A very enjoyable listening experience if you can get these under the RRP.

High quality of sound is so big room of sound. But it's a bit difficult because of need to recharge every 8 hours of use. It's my best head phone.

Purchased these last week and am pretty happy so far. I usually opt for in-ear and have been using Shure for a long time as my go-to for travel. Decided it was time for some cans to drown out my noisy co-workers and decided the MDR-1ADAC a go. I've never had a DAC or, obviously headphone with a DAC built-in, so I am very impressed with the sound quality. However... COME ON SONY. Setting these up was like trying to solve a riddle. Thank god for the internet and some European who decided to actually explain that you had to download a driver and install it, then find your recognized device through the audio settings in Windows. It's beyond silly that there are zero instructions included with the headphones that mention this. I'm not one who wants a 30 page manual, but just thrown me a bone here. It's a vital piece of info...

I really like these headphones they work well with my Xperia Z2! I love the audio quality, bass and crispness is there without getting baffled. Good battery life. The built in Digital Amplifier really makes a huge difference in audio quality! Love these headphones because they are versatile with connectivity options too!

I bought these to upgrade from my MDR-1A , which I had when I first bought my hi-res Walkman . I thought those were great but these are even better - worth the extra money . I would recommend these , particularly to people who , like me , listen to a lot of classical music ; they really bring out the quality even of older recordings . As for hi-res recordings - I'm speechless !!!

I had in-ear hi-res earphones and found they were very good , I thought I would try these thinking they would be about the same sound-wise , but I found they are surprisingly better ! Would recommend , I'm sure anyone would be blown away !

They sound decent. Actually, they sound pretty good when connect through the lighting cable to an iPhone 6. But see the following issues: 1. Using it through the USB port in a MacBook Pro is very simple, but can be frustrating if you've never done it before. The instruction manual does not explain properly how to use them with a computer. Customer service had absolutely no idea how to set up. I had to Google the whole thing up somewhere else. 2. High-res media player that is advertised in the instruction manual is nowhere to be found. The link provided was broken. Had to undertake a lengthy Google search just to find it in a different Sony website (certainly not the one advertised in the manual). 3. The advertised charging accessory is nowhere to be found for purchase in Sony's website. 4. Headphone usability will depend on how durable the proprietary cables last. Sony will surely not support this product past a certain date. They barely support it now. This is my second time trying to post this review. Sony doesn't like negative reviews listed.

We were impressed by the quality, feel and comfort of these headphones and the multiple connection options. Particulally the lightening port connection for iPad/iPhone it made it very convenient to listen to HD music Apps." Well done Sony" We would love to see an upgraded version with a higher quality DAC/AMP though. Based on our experience with this product I am sure it would be amazing.

Got these cans yesterday 11/29/2014 what can I say, if you have MDR7506 and NW-f807 or NWZ-a17 just adjust your equalizer . Sony reps. are very miss oriented about new Sony products. Talked to them before the purchase. They know nothing! Heavier than 7506 and tighter (warming for cold winters)
