I bought a broken pair for $5 at Adorama. I replaced the broken wire with a $9 medium quality cables on ebay. I also swapped the pad with my Sennheiser Urbanite's(a bad phone for it's price, weight and size) soft pads. Wow! I like my mod very much! I listen to voices and cello a lot. This phone works perfectly for this purpose. This phone gives me the sounds that should be there. When I need more boomy and pleasant bass I just grab my Koss kph30i. It's another cheap but amazing good phone that colored the spectrum in the way I prefer.

I'm probably not the best source of a headphone review, but they look OK, fit OK, and sound very OK. Not sure there aren't better units in this price range, but these will likely make you happy.
