I bought these about a year ago and love them. They were great for the price and stay on well. But over time one earbud got to have a lower volume. I think i'll shell out the money for a more expensive pair this time.

I bougt these earphones for running. The first time I used them I had no problems. The second time I used them only one earbud was working. The third and last time I used these headphones I was electrically shocked repeatedly first from one side and then from the other. I had only been running for 3 minutes when the shocks started and was not even beginning to sweat. Sadly I had bought these BECAUSE they were Sony. I will return these to the store and move on to a new brand.

Bought these to replace a pair of 3-yr old Skull Candy ear buds. The SC buds had a straight plug and failed at the strain relief - one channel had intermittent connection. Probably failed because of the way I run the wire while I'm exercising. Purchased these on Dec 18 because they were a sport-type and had a 90-deg plug. Today, Jan 2, the left channel has a significant decrease in output - it sounds like I only have one phone in. I verified that it is not the iPod, nor is a L-ear vs. R-ear matter. The phones are broken after two weeks... Other knocks against them is that they feel like they will fall out all the time, and they tangle too easily when I'm not wearing them. Unfortunately I don't have the receipt anymore so it looks like I will be eating the $18 that they cost.

I was happy with these at first - I've never had good luck with this style of headphone before, but the added "nub" that fits behind the ear and the closed-loop design makes them stay on better than other models I've tried. The sound quality is "ok" - nothing amazing but it works. Unfortunately, after three weeks of use the right earbud became "muddy" sounding and only plays at about the third of the volume it is supposed to. I don't know if it is the "water-resistant" design failing, and sweat damaging the interior, or if there is a problem with the wiring, so that the full signal isn't getting to the headphones. Regardless, I'm already shopping for a new pair of headphones. I do not recommend these, and overall I'm very disappointed in the product. I used these headphones while distance running. I have previously owned one of Sony's "over the head" style sports headphones, and I had much better results with that, and will be sticking to that design in the future.

Left side stops playing after about 20min of workout. Thought it was gettting wet from sweat but started wiping sweat off during run? This did not fix the issue. Run inside in AC so its not that much moisture but it stops working every workout.

These are the best sport headphones I can find for the money! Great sound quality compared to Skullcandy, JVC and other price competitors and the headphones comfortably stay in my ears when I'm active. I prefer these any day over ear buds that constantly fall out and give me a headache after prolonged listening. SONY REALLY NEEDS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THE WIRE/WIRE COATING THOUGH. For a sport headphone you would think the wiring would be more durable... I'd definitely pay the extra $ for a braided wire coating.

Worked great for a couple months and then the left stopped working...a week later the right stopped as well.

Not only does the right ear bud short out as soon as a drop of sweat touches them, they constantly keep coming out of my ears. This happens EVERY time I work out. Since I work for a living, I don't have time to keep going to a store to buy new headphones, therefore I've become an expert on how horrible these are because I'm forced to use them!! I look forward to the day that I can hear my music while I workout.

I ride my bike to/from work 13 miles each direction every day and I like to listen to podcasts or audiobooks on my iphone and I occasionally need to take a call or participate in an early morning meeting. These are ideal for the podcast/books use-case, but since they don't have headset capability they really don't work for the phone -- I've tried an accessory that plugs in-line and handles the phone part, but it doesn't fit well in my bike's iPhone case and it's really inconvenient. I'd love to have these with headset/mic integration! They're really the first headphones I've found that I feel safe using on the bike, I can hear the world around me but it doesn't drown out the podcast/book sound. Sony, please add the headset capability!

I bought a pair of these and after about a month of use I noticed the right earbud began to lose sound quality and is now completely inoperable. I will not purchase these again and would advise others not to as well.

i've had two pairs of these over the last year (i returned the first pair and got a second as a replacement), and the left earpiece has gone mostly dead in both of them. i'm not particularly hard on them. so i don't think the wires are getting damaged. They fit fine, except when i wear my glasses, and the sound they produce is quite good for my needs, but i just can't believe that i'd get two pairs with exactly the same problem! Trying another kind next time.

Do not buy these headphones. I've purchased two pair and neither lasted more than a month or so before the right speaker failed. They should pull this off the market. They are a waste of money.

This is the second set I have purchased and now it like the first has the right side playing at only partial volume. Maybe some kind of short or the sound device internals are failing. Two sets, two failures and other reviews citing the same thing

I bought these headphones last April and I have to say that these are the best pair of headphones I've ever owned. I bought these after my two pairs of Skull Candy earbuds broke. The sound quality on those were great, but they were terribly unreliable. My brother had a $100 set of earbuds from Bose, and like the Skull Candies, they broke in a short period of time. I put these on and WOW!!! The sound quality is better than both the Skull Candy and the Bose earbuds, for a fraction of the price of the latter. I would buy another pair, but at this rate, I think these will last me a good 10 years. Simply amazing! I don't know how anybody could complain about these headphones.

I had seen someone at the gym with this headset and looked interesting. I bought them at night, worked out the next day and the left side stopped working by end of workout. Very disappointed. I will return and try again, but by the other reviews I will not have any luck.

The worst pair of headphones that I have ever purchased. I went through three pair and returned all three pair. The right earbud always stopped working and the left one would get a static noise. i was refunded for all three pair, however it was inconvenient. I went back to using the Apple ear buds that come standard with the ipod.

I have bought 2 of these earphones and the right earbud has shorted out on both of them.

I seem to constantly break headphones. This is my 3rd pair in a year, and it seems to be working out. Also, these DO NOT fall out when running which is great. The only problem I have is that one cord should be longer than the other like some other headphones I've had so the cords are behind you. Only complaint.

I work in the lawm maintenance business, so I need head phones that are not cumbersome, but can stand up to the elements. These head phones are the perfect ones for the job. They don't fall out, they're comfortable, and they sound great with my Sony A818 mp3 player. I never leave home without them. (just a tip: when you are working around things that can snag the head phone wires, tuck them under your shirt)

I don't know why the other reviewers have given these headphones such bad reviews. I really like them. I don't know how they could fall out of your ears unless you are wearing them wrong. I've ran with them, worked out, shook my head trying to get them to fall out, and they won't budge. Design is awesome. Sound quality is really good too. Nice balance, bass is good. Overall, definitely recommended, especially for workouts. Great value for the price.

There are very few types of in-ear headphones that I can stand to wear, overall, I like the design, but the problem is that Sony put in cheap drivers, if they would just correct this issue, I would love to own a pair, but as is, it's back to the store for this pair. Sony, please fix this.

The Sony vertical, in-the-ear active style MDR-AS20J headphones makes it easy to add a heart-pumping soundtrack to whatever you may be doing. The soft loop hangers fit comfortably over your ear and allow you to play hard without fear of unexpected earbud drop-out. There's also a handy cord clip for unfettered activity.
