Tracking is fast too, making it easier to shooting active macro subjects. This system easily keeps up with the 120 fps maximum speed of the a9 III. Focus drive is quiet too, making it ideal for movie shooting.

Critical focus for eye-opening macro
Precise focus is essential when shooting with a narrow depth of field, and this remarkable lens ensures that it is easy to achieve. After following a moving subject in AF-C mode, the MF mode can be quickly selected via the AF/MF switch and used with focus magnification to refine and finalize focus.

Quick, easy focus adjustment
If focus is on the wrong subject, it can be returned to the intended subject simply by rotating the focus ring in the lens's DMF mode. Sliding the focus ring back and forth switches between the AF/MF and FULL MF modes, with the latter providing distance and magnification scales that are ideal for macro shooting.

When using AF, pressing a focus hold button maintains focus at the current setting for as long as the button is held. The focus hold buttons can be assigned different functions for different situations. Linear Response MF ensures that the focus ring responds directly and linearly to subtle control when focusing manually. Focus ring rotation translates directly to a corresponding change in focus, so control feels immediate and precise.
