I was impressed. The suction base is large and is an extremely tight fit on my windshield. The parts of the mount are very solid and there is no give at all when the knobs are tightened down. Depending on the slope of your windshield it may not be easy or possible to position your camera above the mount, but you can always position the mount (and camera) upside down and correct the orientation with video software. I have a pocket size camera and was able to mount it upright, but it was inconvenient because the shutter button was hard to press because the top of the camera was touching the windshield. I don't consider this a design flaw of the mount, but just a fact of life given the sometimes extreme slope of the windshield. I tested it on a country road and was pleased with the stability of the video. I have an old SUV, which doesn't have the smoothest ride, and the video was excellent, even over the rough spots in the road.

When this product arrived the first thing that I noticed was that it was not branded SONY. I found the product difficult and awkward to use as a mount on my windshield. Another review had similar comments. Next time I will follow the comment and mount it on the passenger door window and it may be a little easier.

I have the windshield suction mount for my car and love it! I have to admit it took me a few minutes or more to figure out how to set it up for the camera to face right side up and facing forward. But once I attached the extension bar that comes with suction mount and played with different ways of angling the attachment, it is working great and I am getting great videos while driving.

The suction cup works well. There is some difficulty getting the camera facing the driver and passenger area of the car due to the angles. I dont know if this is a design flaw or that it just needs to be set up just right and thats the way it is.

I tried my best, even with the extension, but couldnt get it to work on my front windshield! If i stick it to my side window, then i cant open it because the cam is on it and when i try to stick it on front windshield, it just doesnt work, i can't get a proper angle in my Ford Focus SVT.. I'll try to find a better item than this, GoPro doesnt work either, so if you don't mind the front windshield inside-your-car-recording-while-driving, then get this.
