The camera also supports Slow & Quick (S&Q) motion for over cranking and under cranking, letting you alter the narrative by speeding up or slowing down the action in 1 fps increments. You'll enjoy full quality at any frame rate, with no sacrifice in bit depth and no f windowing' of the sensor. So there's no crop factor and no loss in angle of view.

Modularity equals versatility
Surprisingly small, light and modular, the F5 lets you build up the right configuration for each project - or each shot. Add the AXS-R7 Portable Memory Recorder and capture 2K RAW at up to 240 fps for silk-smooth 10x super slow motion. Detach the recorder with an extension cable to shoot in tight spaces with rigs and cranes. Or go with internal recording whenever size and weight are top priorities. The optional CBK-55BK build-up kit transforms the F5 into a familiar shoulder-mounted camcorder for news and field-based production. You can even mount B4 lenses via an optional adapter to switch between broadcast- and cine-style shooting.

DVF-EL100 Viewfinder
The DVF-EL100 HD color digital viewfinder offers amazing OLED quality for CineAlta cameras with a digital interface, such as the PMW-F55, PMW-F5 and F65. Don't let the small size fool you. This 0.7-inch (viewable area, measured diagonally) viewfinder has the incredible clarity of 1280 x 720 High Definition. And resolution is just the beginning. Thanks to OLED technology, you get superb brightness, contrast and response. The viewfinder also comes with False Color function, which helps users to adjust proper exposure easily and speedily.

False Color function
Works on S-Log2 Gamma (Custom mode) or S-Log2 MLUT (Cine-EI mode). Helps users to adjust proper exposure easily and speedily. When you press SPARE button on VF, 6 colors are displayed on VF to indicate the exposure levels of the image. In order to use this function, the DVF-EL100 needs to be updated to Version 1.1 firmware or above. It only works with Version 2.0 of the PMWF55 and PMW-F5.

Widely adjustable mounting system
Provides optimum VF positioning, regardless of operator's height or body shape. Its 26-pin digital viewfinder cable can be substituted for a longer cable (47-1/4 inches long).

SBAC-US30 Memory Card Reader
The SBAC-US30 SXS PRO+ and SXS-1 memory card reader/writer works on both Windows-based PCs and Macintosh computers via a USB 3.0 interface for high-speed transfer of audio-visual material. The reader is also compatible with a USB 2.0 interface. This compact and portable device is the successor to the SBAC-US20 and comes in handy in many situations on location, for desktop browsing and fully-fledged editing.

The SBAC-US30 provides high speed transfer of audio/visual material from a SXS PRO+ or SXS-1 solid state memory card using an USB 3.0 interface, allowing you to make transfers when your computer does not have an ExpressCard slot. The device also provides compatibility with USB 2.0.

Bus-powered operation (AC adapter is not necessary)
The SBAC-US30 is compatible with media other than a SXS PRO+ or SXS-1 card when using the following adapters: SD card adapter, Memory Stick adapter, XQD Express card adapter.

The CBKZ-55FX software upgrade for the PMW-F5 enables XAVC 4K and XAVC QFHD internal recording, simultaneous recording of XAVC 4K and HD resolution on one SXS Pro+ card at the same time and 4K/QFHD output via 3G-SDI and HDMI. The official software upgrade, operating with camera firmware Version 5.0 or higher, guarantees Sony's high picture quality and performance.

VCT-FSA5 Shoulder Mount Accessory
The VCT-FSA5 shoulder mount accessory plate, is specifically designed for documentary style shooting with PMW-F55 & F5 series cameras. It includes two 15mm rods, two rosettes compatible with Arri accessories and attachment for Sony VCT-14, quick release tripod plate. Thanks to its minimalistic, design with low optical center and weight balancing mechanism; it enables comfortably operating the camera for hours on end. It has a slot running down the center for adjusting the camera position front to back for balancing the weight depending on the lens; which in combination with the viewfinder's adjustable bracket and clutch arm, enables the camera be comfortably fitted to persons of different builds and heights.
