So useful I bought this one to replace a 15 year old one that stopped working (power switch failed). Just the thing for hiking, canoeing or other solo activity.

Have gone thru 4 radios from Best Buy For I wanted to do the design is Great but was really disappointed in the engineering and quality control from Sony. This is my 4th try, with all the tuner will show overmodulating across several frequencies for the close stations and the same for several transponders that have cropt up in the area. It is near impossible now to listen to FM stations over 30 miles. AM what I expected a lot better out doors than inside. The Weather band transponder is less than 17 miles from me and to hear it, I have to turn the volume up over 1/2 way and it is a 1000 watts. The tuner + - changes but only the same transponder comes thru even though there is another about 65 miles. The FM reception is probably the same for the weather. The biggest disappointment was the cost to operate the 3rd radio..I listen an average of 2-6 hours a day. I would expect a battery in a radio to last 2-3 months. In the 3rd radio store brand batteries lasted 4-5 days, tried rechargeable and they lasted 5 hours. Bought the best batteries Engergizer Lithium (20 yrs unopened and 9 times the operating life of the regular alkaline battery). This time the battery lasted 10 days. At a cost of $10.99 for 4 batteries, that radio will cost me over $100 a year to use. Hope this 4th try the batteries will last longer, IF Not this radio is going back and I will be taking the Best Buy Card. Sony needs to improve battery life, tuner seperation and AM and FM reception, add a plug for both the home and and auto. IF they are able to resolve the battery life problem, then for good measure add an mp3 player to it. The mp3 players with AM/FM radio look TOO Fragile compared to this radio.

Battery life on a single AAA is the best on the market. Volume is just as good as competing models requiring 2 AA's. Antenna sensitivity is also very good given compact size.

Bought this Walkman to replace an older model. Happy with my choice so far. Unit is very light and easy to carry on my belt or top of pants. Reception and sound quality are good. I like the digital tuning.

Upon purchasing the Digital Walkman it's versatility was obvious. Small and light it fits in a pocket. Great battery life with one AAA cell. I find ear buds more useful than the supplied headphones. Additionally, it is compatible with modular powered speakers. Favorite uses are overnight talk and music, and easy listening when on the lawn tractor. Like it so much I bought another unit for my wife.

Purchased Walkman to replace old, well used Walkman. Only complaint is the headphones that were included. Not good fit. Need smaller ones for female with smaller head! Used ear plugs from former set.

Excellent radio. Wish it had a strap for attachment to arm.. Don't trust the plastic belt clip. Looks like it would brake easy.

This is my third walkman. I am a contractor and use them at work. The reception isn't great but beats any other portable am/fm offered by any other company. My walkman have usually lasted 2-3 years then I have to get a new one. This time I couldn't find one at any of the big box retail discount stores so I had to order it online from Sony. (hope they are not phasing out this radio. The trend does not favor portable am/fm radios) My disappointment with his particular radio is that my batteries don't last nearly as long as they previously did. I have to replace the battery about every 30hrs or so. I used to get about 100 hrs of use from one battery from my previous walkman radios. Changing batteries that often is annoying and more expensive to use. Disappointing! Come on Sony...I thought you're better than that.

I use this little "gem" on my 3-mile daily walk and it performs like a champ. The radio pulls in plenty of stations, including weather stations, and the clip holds the unit securely to my clothing. I find the headset quite comfortable, and the sound is amazing! One battery lasts for several weeks, and I carry a spare so I can change batteries while I walk if necessary. It does display battery life, so I rarely have to change while I'm out walking. The buttons are great, precise digital tuning, so I can change from a music station to a talk show in a flash without even looking at the display. I highly recommend this radio to anyone who wants quality personal radio listening at a very affordable price.

I am extremely satisfied with my Sony Walkman. It is exactly what I wanted. I had an old one and was thrilled to find I could still get one of the same order. The service was also excellent.

The description stated that you could listen to radio and tv. You can not listen to tv stations. It has weather channels too, but I wanted to listen to tv. Returned and got a refund on both that I bought.

I had the same model for over 10 years. It was scuffed and I'd knocked off the battery cover, but it worked great. Then, I lost it. I hadn't realized how good it was until I bought a cheap replacement, but the reception wasn't as good it and sucked up tons of battery. Also, the presets didn't work well. With this radio, everything works-- as long as you don't lose it.

I compared to a 40 dollar radio I bought. It's sound quality didn't even come close. I returned that stupid 40 dollar radio right after I noticed how inferior that waste of money and time was. Plug this baby into a nice speaker set and you've got yourself a radio that puts your car's radio to shame!

This one replaced an identical one purchased about 5 years ago. The headphone jack "went mono" and I couldn't get it apart enought to see if a wire had broken or come loose.

A Great little radio that replaced an earlier Walman I owned. Even the headset is pretty decent and has great sound and stereo separation. The weather band and clock are a nice touch. The PLL tuner pulls the stations in remarkable well and the 15 presets are a nice bonus! I'm pumped Sony.

The Sony SRF-M37W Walkman portable radio is the best travel companion that I can think of. Once again, Sony has demonstrated its technical prowess, dominance, and mastery of the portable audio product category. This Sony portable radio features excellent sensitivity and selectivity with respect to its broadcast FM/AM/Weather Band reception capabilities. I feel lucky and fortunate to own it. The Sony Walkman is a small and lightweight radio that fits with ease in the palm of your hand, on your belt with included clip, or in your shirt pocket. It is just comforting to notice the solid feel and sturdy build quality of this resilient Sony SRF-M37W Walkman portable digital radio. This Sony Walkman is a go anywhere radio, that performs well under adverse conditions, including a very hot and humid summer day in Miami, on the Verrazano Bridge at the start of the New York City Marathon, or a minor rainy weather event at the college ballgame. When I am at the beach, walking in my local park, or taking a stroll on the boardwalk, I can pick up my local weather band station with a slight tap of a direct WB preset button. I am able to get an instant forecast the moment I see some clouds begin to populate a beautiful clear blue sky. Instant weather band preset station access enables me to plan the immediate future of my outing accurately and swiftly with the latest forecast at any time. This unit's open-air stereo headphones fit nicely over the ears for fatigue-free listening for hours on end. The FM stereo reception of my favorite music stations sound marvelous, with near concert quality audio reproduction. The Sony Walkman's FM/AM/WB reception performance is free of distortion and station-drift. There is no need to worry about an accidental station change or button press when using the Sony Walkman, with this unit's hold feature enabled. The Sony SRF-M37W portable radio does have a hold feature to prevent an accidental operation. The hold switch is located on the top portion of the unit and when the user slides the switch in the direction of the arrow symbol, the "hold key" indicator will appear in the LCD. The hold function can be canceled by sliding the hold switch in the reverse direction of the arrow symbol, and the hold icon indicator will be removed from the LCD. AM band radio listening is a pleasure. I can never get enough sports information. Whether it's the latest score, trade rumor, analysis of tonight's game, or general sports gossip, this Sony SRF-M37W Walkman is always there to fulfill my sports talk radio interests. Talk radio programs and news broadcasts feature great voice clarity and depth. FM and AM radio programs are easy to locate with the Walkman's station preset feature. The Sony SRF-M37W Walkman requires one AAA battery that is difficult to deplete. This unit will operate at peak performance with the use of a high-performance Duracell Ultra or Energizer Max alkaline battery. The Sony SRF-M37W Walkman has every feature that any portable radio or outdoor enthusiast could ask for. Those high quality portable audio features include: FM, AM, Channel 1-7 Weather Band reception, FM stereo reception, FM frequency range: 87.5-108 MHz, AM frequency range: 530-1710 kHz, FM channel step tuning: 0.1 MHz, AM channel step tuning: 10 kHz, WB channel step tuning: 1 channel, phase locked loop synthesized 3-band tuner, digital tuner, headphone cord FM/WB antenna for drift-free FM/WB band reception, built-in ferrite bar AM antenna for accurate AM band talk radio reception, FM1/FM2/AM band selector button, direct weather band selector button, 11 button front panel controls, 14 total user adjustable controls, FM/WB Local/DX sensitivity slide switch for improved reception of both near and distant FM/WB stations, 20 FM/AM/WB station presets (10 FM band station presets that are divided equally between the FM 1 and FM2 bands, 5 AM band station presets, 5 WB station presets), preset station replacement/override option, manual tuning, manual preset station input, adjustable 10 kHz to 9 kHz AM tuning interval for reception of AM stations or medium wave broadcasts when traveling abroad, digital multi-function LCD display, digital clock, 12-hour time format system, switchable on/off hold function, power on/off button, clock set button, time set/manual tuning +/-buttons, 5 direct key preset station memory buttons, key press beep confirmation, battery life indicator, 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, thumbwheel style rotary analog volume control, detachable belt clip, lightweight design, rugged body construction, quality tactile feel to control buttons and key presses, polished black casing, white/green/orange front panel lettering, Sony logo, FCC compliance certification logo, and it comes with operating instructions. The product dimensions are as follows: Width: 3-3/8", Height: 2-½", Depth: 1", and Weight: 3.32 ounces. This unit includes a 90-day parts and labor limited manufacturer warranty. With its accurate reception, powerful stereo sound, simple operation, up-to-the-minute weather band forecasts, time display, and convenient 5-key multiple preset station settings, the Sony SRF-M37W Walkman is an outstanding performer for my own personal mobile audio requirements. Please note that this unit's time settings and all FM/AM preset stations in memory will be lost if the battery is removed from the battery compartment for longer than 3 minutes. Additionally, AM band preset stations are erased from memory when this unit's AM channel step tuning interval is changed from 10 kHz to 9 kHz or 9 kHz to 10 kHz. The Sony SRF-M37W Walkman Radio does not feature a weather alert override function or an auto preset station scan tuning option. The Sony SRF-M37W Portable Radio does not offer TV band audio. It is not possible to operate the Sony SRF-M37W portable radio off AC power. The Sony Walkman does not demonstrate any flaws in ergonomic design, broadcast reception, or sound reproduction. You can't do better than a Sony product for any occasion that requires portable audio. I am delighted to give this Sony SRF-M37W Walkman 3-band digital radio my highest recommendation. Good Luck. Enjoy.

I have had this radio for several years. It is by far and away the best radio I have ever had. Compact, easy to use design makes this a must have radio. Audio quality is superior to any portable radio I have ever owned (I have dozens of radios, and have personally been on the radio numerous times at several local stations, both as a caller and in studio. What I'm trying to say is I know my stuff!) This radio has great recption for it's size. The included headphones sound amazing. Mine have worn out because of heavy use (I avgerage 75-100 hours of radio listening per week, with more than half of it on this radio). Because of this I recently purchased a pair of Sony earbud headphones for about $20 and the sound quality was even more amazing than before. Another thing about this radio is it's reliablity. I have put thousands and thousands of hours on this radio and it still starts up every time without problems. Like I said before I spend many, many hours listening to the radio. I have used this radio for strecthes of upwards of 20 hours strait on numerous occasions and I have not had a problem once. The sheer portability of this radio is an excelent feature. It can be taken in the car, to sporting events, to resturants, on long walks, ect. I love how this radio uses only one AAA battery. That makes it very easy to carry several extra batteries in my pocket on the numerous long walks I take. Bottom line, this is the best portable radio you can buy. The $30 price of this radio is worth every penny.

let me just say that i was looking for a digital am/fm radio headset for awhile with button tuning rather than the dial and this was exactly what i was looking for i dont know if its that it has no external antenna or just where i live but i do get alot of static with my stations that is dependent where im standing at the time :) i use this guy to jam out while doing housework and its wonderfull and i dont need to drive everyone else crazy with my switching radio stations during comercials with the 5 preset buttoms 10 for fm. this is a good unit a must if you like the radio and dont want to disturb others and need a tiny compact unit, just be ready for a little static SONY FIX THIS AND IT WOULD BE PERFECT!

I get interference from a station tower within 5 miles of me on other stations. Radio will work satisfactorily if stationary, but this is a WALKman! Inadequate front end filtering on this radio. My other radios (car radios, etc.) do not have this problem. I am very disappointed in Sony engineering on this radio.

This radio is so good, it's offered on the CCrane catalog but it's a better value here. There is nothing I don't like about it. It does everything superbly. It goes something like 70 hours on ONE triple-A battery, doesn't lose its presets when you change the battery. You can lock in a station, get surprisingly distant stations, it's compact, gets AM, FM and weather. This radio is a bargain.

Be prepared for an oncoming storm or just rock out to your favorite AM or FM station. The compact, portable SRF-M37W Walkman Digital Tuning Weather Radio (Black) gives you access to your local stations, including the weather band. It features 20 station presets, a direct weather button and a 5 direct key preset memory.
