Great Sony product with nice design and great sound. However, while playing the speaker, it's interrupted or stopped when played over with YouTube music when oncoming message or ads is coming. Why is that? How can we play it continuously without interruption. Thank you.

The good stuff first. As usual, SONY still can produce good sound and build quality is amazing. The downside is the price. Maybe it can be a little lower. There are a lot of New good speaker out there. Long run it will be bad. I Hope SONY still around for long time. No remote? Too bad...

Heavier than I thought it would be. This thing is Awesome. I usually buy Klipsch and JBL Audio Equipment but I couldn't be happier with this Sony product. It is just as accurate and much louder than the aforementioned brands. You can actually Feel the Bass and there is no distortion even at full volume. I will be purchasing another one soon so I can pair them in Stereo mode. Very Satisfied with this product. Very. I purchased on line at Best Buy because it was $100 off and I could pick it up locally within an hour. Effortless.

I'm a big fan of Sony's party speakers. I already have an older and slightly bigger version - the XP700. This gets nearly daily use at home and in the garden, so i was very keen to see how this newest addition stacked up. Looks Definitely a sleeker, more refined look. Its a lot less angular - much smoother and rounded overall. It does stick to the typical format of handles top and bottom, containing the various LEDs. Control buttons are still on the top for easy access. This version is a lot smaller than my previous XP700, making it even more portable and lighter. No troubles at all moving this around the house and garden. The music reactive lights are great! You have a few different modes to choose from via the app, and can even turn them off completely if you prefer. Sound Your not going to be disappointed with the sounds that come out of this speaker thats for sure. It handles all types of music well, and especially comes alive with a more dance / EDM type of music - especially with the Mega Bass feature. It rumbles!! Clarity of sound is still good too, and in terms of volume - it packs a surprising punch given its smaller size! Connectivity As usual with this series, you have bluetooth - supporting SBC, AAC and LDAC. Connection strength is good and the bluetooth audio quality is great. You also have a 3.5mm stereo input for wiring in phones, mp3 players etc. USB input, and MIC / Guitar inputs. There isnt much you cant hook up to it. Summary Overall im very happy with this speaker. Sound is good, connectivity is good. Battery life is exceptional - this will keep going longer than you will! For the price i dont think it can be beaten. Highly recommended.

This SONY SRSXV500 is a brilliant portable bluetooth speaker. Straight from unboxing it was clear this was a speaker with great build quality. It is so easy to connect with your phone and once the Sony Music Center App is downloaded its so easy to control. The Speaker looks fanstastic inside or outside, its well designed with a great control panel on top as well as a slot to put your phone in. There are minimal instructions but not really needed as its so simplistic to use. The 1st time I heard the sound i was blown away by its capabilities to produce such a complete sound from a single unit. Whether listening to Rock, Pop or Classical it handles all so well producing a rich full sound, the Mega Bass is just that...it almost makes the room vibrate. Battery life from a single charge is as described at around 25 hours. The lights on the speaker are a great addition and really bring some atmosphere in the evening..these can be adjusted or switched off. I'm looking forward to using it outside in the summer when it will bring any party to life. A number of my friends have seen and listened to the speaker and they couldn't believe the sound it produced. In summary another great Sony product.

This is a truly amazing piece of equipment. Impressive sound, impressive looks and impressive weight - its substantial in every way! From out of the carton, the speaker was already 75% charged and so ready to go. Within seconds I had twinned my phone and was streaming music from a range of sources, some online, some already stored on my phone. This Sony SRS-XV500 was brilliant at a recent family BBQ, the speakers kicked out deep, powerful bass and clear treble and mid-range that had everyone moving to the beat!. When we moved inside, the two forward-facing tweeters made sure every inch of the room was covered in our tunes. The battery is claimed to run for 25 hours on a single charge and I don't doubt it and another great feature is that when you need a top up, a quick 10 minute charge gives you an extra 2.5 hours of play time - so no more endless waiting the 'get the party started! Its IPX4 water resistance rating means it's perfect for the vagaries of the British summer and the two sturdy carry handles mean moving it is a breeze. It also has a cool set of LED lights that can be programmed in a variety of different ways that can pulse and flash in time to the music and provide hours of endless fun for a budding DJ. My son experimented and created the perfect vibe with the multi-coloured LED lights that automatically synced to our tunes and he even used one of the two microphone inputs so that he could MC. This feature might be very useful for a home-based karaoke evening. Reading the comprehensive spec sheet I see that you can plug in a guitar and use it as an amplifier, adding even more to the unit's range of uses.

The SRS-XV500 is a fantastic product. I wanted a portable speaker I could take anywhere which had plenty of power. I also wanted a speaker I could use for hosting parties. The sleek design of the speaker is stylish modern looking, and the carry handles hide the LED immersive lights perfectly. The sound quality is amazing with all ranges covered. Really punchy but not distorting bass. With a bass booster button if needed. I have tried various music types from EDM to classical and rock music the speaker performs so well. The speaker is quite heavy, but the carry handles make it simple to transport and the battery life is amazing. I recently hosted a house party where the speaker was on all night no power cable just running on the battery over 8 hours of loud music. I used it in my garden at the start of the night and finished the night with the speaker in the garden. The sound in the different environments was excellent. The LED immersive lights are a bonus and gives the speaker the wow factor and enhances the listening experience. Bluetooth connectivity was quick and extremely stable. I have only paired my phone but there are optional inputs for USB and other phono leads at the rear of the speaker I have also used the Music centre and Fiestable apps which can also enhance the music and lights with some clever DJ tools as well. Overall, this is a brilliant take anywhere speaker rain or shine. Indoors or outdoors it certainly packs a punch and you won't be disappointed.

This is the 1st "party speaker" that I've ever tried, previously I have had an old Hi-Fi system from the 80's, ear buds, headphones, a TV sound bar and recently a mains powered 360 spatial speaker. This XV500 is designed for a whole different type of listening experience. It's a solidly built unit and weighs in around 11 kilos which gives it a nice solid mass but also keeps it "portable" for shorter distances. There are a range of connections and inputs so if you are having a party, the best feature is that the speaker is splash proof for those spilt drinks and the odd bit of rain if you're outside in the UK! There is a handy slot on the top to stand your tablet, iPad, mobile phone or other media players in. And, if you are "old-school" then you can even connect via the aux-in mini jack connection behind a splash-proof cover on the rear of the unit. There is also a USB port which you can use to charge a device or play music from a pen-drive. The main control panel is a range of touch controls except for the power button, which a reassuring rubber push button. You can select the input method from Bluetooth, audio-in or USB. Note that the USB, Audio in are behind a rubber cover on the rear, but there are also input ports for a microphone and guitar each with their own rotary volume controls and effect controls. Also on the top of the unit there are the volume controls, play/pause button (which doubles up as skip forward or reverse), mega bass and the light button. The LED arrays are hidden in the handles, which looks really cool when it synchs with the beat of the music. The light option does kick out a nice effect in low light conditions but I would save the battery during the day! The built in battery only takes approx. 3 hours to fully charge and can last up to 25 hours depending upon a variety of options. It obviously consumes the power more quickly if the listening volume, mega bass, and light shows are all running at the same time. There is a Stamina button that helps extend the battery life by preventing the lights and limiting the output, but for me there won't be many situations where I would want to party for that long. If you did you can always run it directly off the mains connection. At maximum volume you do get a bit more volume on mains electricity, but personally I wouldn't need to run it at that level. This is a good speaker for outside use or larger capacity rooms because it has a thumping bass and extra 'Mega Bass' available if required. I already have the Sony Music Centre and once connected that gave me further options with the lights, power, and sound. There is also another app "Fiestable" which will link to any supported mobile and allow a range of controls and displays, but probably isn't something I intend to use. The overall sound is very good and the wide range of connectivity gave me plenty to choose from. I've used it in the garden, my home office, and the kitchen diner area. The only caution would be to ensure that you're on good terms with the neighbours when using it at high volume outside!

Wonderful clear, room filling sound with excellent punchy bass. Everything from haunting acoustic vocals to deep vibrating dance tracks are projected easily around any space. Placing the speaker near the far end of the garden was like an open air concert. It's reassuring, with the great British weather, that the speaker is water resistant. It's easy to connect the XV500 to my XB31 speaker, allowing me to seamlessly enjoy the music in the kitchen when preparing food/drink. I've never really been big on karaoke, and don't own a microphone ( no need to upset the neighbours). Therefore I'm unable to say how it performs, but I can imagine that with the powerful speakers, and also the ability to connect a guitar, it would make an ideal karaoke/busking machine. The speaker really comes "alive" when it gets dark. The lights emit a colourful, synchronised display that is quite mesmerising. Overall, an excellent, powerful speaker that will be the centre of any party, indoors or out.

The Sony XV500 X-Series Wireless Party Speaker is a fantastic party speaker that sounds great and has some great features. Firstly the sound quality of this speaker is excellent. It is a very balanced sound and good rich deep bass. The battery life is very good and I have got around 25 hours from a single charge. It also charges very quickly. The flashing multicoloured lights are simply excellent. The flash very accurately to the music and provide a really great addition to any party. I used this party speaker all night when I recently had friends over and it was great hit. My friends commentated how good the sound was and that the lights made a great addition. This speaker has lots of connectivity options and was very easy to pair with my and my wife's phone. To summarise I would highly recommend this speaker for any party as it looks and sounds great. I am going to France later on this year camping and I intend to take it with me.

This is a fantastic piece of kit. It charges quickly, and has a long-lasting battery life, meaning it can be used literally anywhere. It's also splash proof (although I didn't test how waterproof it is!) Sound quality is amazing, and easy to connect to BlueTooth. The touch controls on the top are responsive and easy to understand. Hidden behind a rubber panel in the back are two 6mm inputs for mic/guitar, with separate volume control, USB input, and 3.5mm output. The coloured lights also look great. We've used it at home, in the garden, and in a warehouse where we were working - and the bass and depth of sound were incredible.

Taking the speaker out of the packaging first it looks impressive. First up you have controls on the top and on the back is a rubber panel once opened gives you access to the auxiliary inputs which you can connect a microphone, electric guitar, and a 3.5 audio jack, also a usb port and the power point for charging the speaker. Connecting a music player, phone tablet etc with Bluetooth was no problem you press the Bluetooth button on the top of the speaker then search on the phone and press connect and it's done.So Easy. Playing music through the speaker gives you a very good performance that does not disappoint even at the maximum volume, quality always remains. The bass is sufficient but press the mega bass button and it takes it up a level. Plug in a guitar and no problem. you can also have a guitar and microphone or two microphones so you can have karaoke. You can have the light's on or off just press the button on top of the speaker. The speaker can be used horizontally or vertically. Overall the speaker has a compact design, high quality sound and delivers an exceptional performance. I would highly recommend.

I should start by saying, I don't think a 50+ year old couple of empty nesters is necessarily the target demographic for the XV500 X-Series Wireless Party Speaker. However, as young at heart people who like listening to music, singing along and playing music, and enjoy doing so out of doors with our family and friends (when the Scottish weather allows), we've been comprehensively won over. The XV500 is neither small nor particularly lightweight and comes in quite a big box. There's very little to unwrap - the unit itself and two power cables (UK and EU). The instructions are very sparse however we had no problem setting up the Bluetooth connection to our iPhones, which unlocks the core music playing features. Following the QR code in the fold out diagrammatic guide, we were able to quickly download the Sony Music Centre and Fiestable Apps. The former provides the basic control functionality to connect to your music streaming service, in our case straight through to Apple Music with no problems and also provides control functionality over sound and light. There is however no remote control, so you need to have your phone to hand or control the functions from the unit. That's not a problem, with the only minor gripe being the unit needs to be powered on and off manually. The Fiestable App provides what might best be described as the party functionality. We didn't find it particularly slick or intuitive and as we could access most of what we wanted via Music Centre, I don't think it's something we'll use particularly much but is something that might appeal to a younger audience. It's worth noting that a more detailed help guide can be accessed on-line using the second QR code in the fold out diagrammatic guide. So far, we've been able to do everything we want to do, with the possible exception of the Karaoke functionality. Being Singstar veterans on our PlayStation, it's fair to say the XV500 isn't as much fun. We're not entirely sure that we're using it correctly (and this is where we might have benefitted from more guidance, though hopefully we'll find something on Youtube in due course), however we connected our Bravia TV to the XV500 using Bluetooth. Our streaming device gave us both a source of music and lyrics to sing along to. We'll experiment over time to see what's available, but it's fair to say even with these limitations, a good time was had by all. The main attraction of the XV500 for us is to have a unit we can play outside in the garden, and this is where it excels. The sound quality suffers indoors when compared to our existing speakers, however outdoors it is in a class of its own. Plenty of volume and enough bass for a family gathering. The battery life is billed as around 25 hours, however that drops when the lights are turned on and the volume turned up. We understand something like 10 hours might be more realistic. Given our mature years and the impressive volume, we moved indoors after around 5 hours with plenty of juice still left in the tank. The unit is listed as being water resistant to IPX4. I'm not sure I would test this in very heavy rain, but we did experience a mild shower with no ill effects. My son is a keen guitarist. He was able to connect to the XV500 effortlessly and, in his words, compared it to "a decent practice amp". My wife is taking lessons and was very impressed by the sound quality and the ease of use. All she needs now is her own electric guitar, which I suspect is only a matter of time, so it's not all good! The XV500 is a difficult piece of equipment to rate. Looking at each feature in isolation, you might easily award it three stars. The sound quality is good but we already have better speakers. It's good being able to play the guitar, but we already have a better amp. Karaoke is a blast, but Singstar is slicker. However, we don't have anything that does all three, and more importantly, we don't have anything rechargeable and shower resistant that can do all three outdoors. That in itself takes it up to a good solid four. But ultimately, we've decided that for us, this is a five-star product because it's just so much fun and fits into our outdoor lifestyle. So, in summary, the XV500 - does everything we want. With lights on!

The Sony XV500 Party Speaker looks, feels and sounds impressive. With a 25hr battery life the speaker provides enough music time for any of your party needs. Used in the garden providing fabulous music for family get togethers or barbecues. The Mega Bass feature gives the option to boost the sound experience to another level. I have also connected the speaker to my TV via the Bluetooth function creating amazing effects on movies and concerts. Another of the nice features are the front top and bottom interactive lights which sync to whatever you are playing,However if the lights are not your thing they can be switched off at the control panel on the topof the speaker. Connection via any mobile device via Bluetooth is simple and quick or you have the option of plugging in a usb device and playing music from here. You can also connect other speakers easily if they have the party function enabling wall to wall sound. If you require you can also connect an external instrument such as a guitar and use as an amplifier. There is a microphone socket for any Karaoke enthusiasts or ca. be used at events for announcements. This speaker is, as expected, well built, superbly designed and so stylish.

Was not too sure what to expect but I must say I was shocked at the size of the speaker, so look at measurements to avoid surprises! But must say the set up was easy and took no more than a minute or so. The sounds quality is good and if we felt like it we could put the lights on too, glad that we have the choice . Only issue I have is not with the speaker but the fact I have to set one device aside for bluetoothing as when I open another app the music stops! Nothing to do with Sony at all. This will be at its best when having a social gathering and the charge holding of the battery means that it will last as long as a garden party or BBQ.
