The Sony SRW-5800/2 is a full bandwidth high definition VTR that utilizes the latest generation of the MPEG4 Studio Profile codec. The /2 version now includes many features as standard, 4:4:4 RGB SQ (HKSR-5803SQ not required), 4:2:2 50/59.94P and double speed record & playback for 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 RGB SQ. New features enabled with the HKSR-5803HQ option are 3D 4:4:4 RGB SQ, real-time 2K formats, MXF SStP (native SR codec) network file transfer and 96KHz audio. The SRW-5800/2 also supports a new SStP file format called SR-Lite which operates at half the bit rate of standard SR (440Mbps at 30fps) producing a bit rate of 220Mbps at 30fps. Yet it still maintains excellent image quality and multi-generation performance.
