Just imagine the sonic possibilities with the Sontronics STC-1, a small-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone, renowned for its versatility and professional-grade performance. This silver-finished microphone is expertly designed to capture the nuances of a wide array of instruments, from the resonant strumming of an acoustic guitar to the vibrant tones of a flute, trumpet, bongo, or violin.
The STC-1's design ensures consistently outstanding results, whether you're recording solo strings, woodwind, brass, or percussion instruments. It's not just limited to studio recording; it's also an excellent choice for field recording, video and film work, and overhead miking on stage.
One of the standout features of the STC-1 is its three-stage filter (0, -10, -20dB) and pad (0, 75, 150Hz) switches, making it one of the most adaptable microphones in its class. It delivers professional studio-quality results that often surpass microphones with a much higher price tag.
Beyond direct-miking, the STC-1 excels in overhead and room miking, especially when paired with our optional OMNI capsule. When used in a pair, either as two individual STC-1 mics or with our stereo-matched STC-1S with mounting bar, its versatility is further enhanced.
The STC-1 features a fixed cardioid pattern, but the capsule head can be swapped out with our interchangeable OMNI or HYPER capsules (also available in black or silver). This transforms your single microphone into a multi-purpose recording tool. With the OMNI capsule, the STC-1 becomes an ideal overhead or room mic, perfect for recording ensemble, drumkit, piano, or group vocals. When fitted with the HYPER capsule, the STC-1 offers a more focused pickup range, making it perfect for capturing the intricate sounds of a hi-hat, acoustic guitar, or harmonica.
Whether you're recording a sitar, bouzouki, banjo, or a string, brass, or wind ensemble, the Sontronics STC-1 small-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone is your go-to tool for capturing high-quality audio. It's also a great choice for video/film and field recording, Foley work, and when used in pairs, it's perfect for drumkit, overhead, and room miking.
