I bought one of these about a year ago to allow me to start listening to my CD library again in my living room. I hooked up a CDP-CE500 cd player and some Cerwin Vega DX-5 speakers to it and it'll let my neighbors enjoy my music if I wanted it to. I'm now likely going to get an Auris bluMe Pro Bluetooth streamer to allow lossless music from my phone. No HDMI's in this entry-level receiver but that's not what I bought it for. I'm a happy camper so far... ROCK ON!!!

This a great receiver, very happy with my purchase. Even at very low volumes I can here all the instruments clearly. Tired of my older 5.1 home theater system, I was looking for a simple stereo receiver with a phono input. The FM receiver on this unit pulls in stations clearly without the annoying background fuzz. I've really been enjoying the bluetooth feature to pair with my tablet to stream internet radio. A dedicated subwoofer output would have been the icing on the cake and would have earned a 5 star rating. You can still connect your subwoofer through the record outputs, but the volume level of the sub would not be affected by the volume control on the remote. It's not too much of a pain to have to adjust the sub separately but a dedicated sub out would have been the crown.

We purchased this to replace a 25 year old stereo amp. This has plenty of power to drive my tower speakers. The bluetooth is great and never drops out from the ipod we use. When turning it on, it automatically wakes up the ipod and all I have to do is press play. Right now I don't think that the remote will change the satellite radio channels. We love it!

Purchased less than a month ago. Easy setup out of the box. Very well featured for the price point. Bluetooth function is particularly useful for connecting compatible devices.

I like things to be as simple as possible, as I'm partially-blind. Sound-wise; it's fine. It's an entry-level integrated amplifier with phono support, that was obviously not going-to be as good a replacement for my Creek® amplifier; but there is sufficient power there to drive two good sets of audiophile-quality speakers. I couldn't quite fit my original speaker wire gauge in these spring-mounted connection clips; which has affected the quality somewhat. The antenna didn't work from new, and was only told to purchase one from an online Sony® parts re-distribution store; seemingly affiliated-to Sony®. I haven't done this yet, as I don't quite trust the site, it's expensive; and I don't quite know why Sony® wouldn't send a replacement. I am somewhat frustrated that quite a few of the controls are only available to change via the remote-control. Basic sound changes. Bass, treble, balance; and also changing the ohm rating, etc. These are basics; so, I did expect a bit more from an entry-level amplifier that has a 'less than smooth' physical volume feel, a seemingly worsening electrical 'clunk' each time this amplifier is turned both on and off, and it does seem-to get quite hot, too. I'm just wondering how long this is going-to last, if I'm honest; and whether the Sony customer-services team are simply going-to tell me where to purchase a new amplifier from, if it all just fails. Just as they did with the failed antenna. I was forced-to take this machine; (to be able-to hear important audible text that I cannot see to read) so, I really cannot complain; but given the choice as a partially-sighted person, I'd have personally chosen an amplifier with physically adjustable 'basic' controls; rather-than relying upon braille via the remote-control unit. It'll be fine for someone who just wants a basic sounding system, and also wants-to connect a turntable as part of that set-up. As this amplifier seems-to work best with vinyl.

Can a relatively well priced receiver possible this good? No, this receiver is outstanding. I bought this as a bridge until I could afford something better, Sony ES or Marantz. After hours/weeks of listening, I found what I am looking for. Adjustable phono gain, pure direct, Bluetooth, this receiver delivers. I have an older Sony cd player, Fluence turntable, bookshelf Klipsh studio reference speakers and my little system is a keeper. I listen to all genres of music including ambient which has layers of intricate sounds; this Sony delivers. I have been a Sony fan for over 40 years (yes I'm old). I love Sony. Sony, you got this Receiver "just right". Thank you.

I bought this receiver a month ago and I couldn't be happier with it. I love the bluetooth option on it. I backed it with a great set of speakers and subwoofer. Also I get to listen to all my old vinyl . Love my new system!

Amplifier sounds good and Bluetooth works very well and connects easily to other devices. FM tuner sounds ok although would have been better if the aerial socket was a proper 75ohm coaxial one as the wire aerial supplied isn't good also why isn't the tuner a Dab one because there aren't many FM stations left anymore. The unit also has a noisy mains transformer which causes the case to resonate I lessened the hum by placing small weight over the area where the transformer and it worked.

I have been a fan of Sony quality products all my life, had many items over the years, including my current TV, can't believe I can only give this amp 2 stars. That is due to after just two weeks of using, it has an incessant hum that is not acceptable. Looking online, other people have had the same issue with this model. It's gone back to Amazon for repair, I sort of hope it can't be, so I can get a refund and buy another make. Had several HiFi amps and never had one him like this, my last Marantz was silent, as was the Rotel before that. Very odd for a Sony item. The amp is very good functionally and great sound connected to my Systemdek turntable or Bluetooth to my phone, even more of a shame it has such a flaw!

The sound quality is excellent. I listen to rock, jazz, metal, country, it all sounded awesome to me. The bass and treble is perfect. My receiver is connected to a cassette deck, cd player, and turntable.I like the remote that came with it. The bluetooth is easy to connect to other Bluetooth devices. The one problem i had was with both the manual and back of the unit for speaker hookups. Picking which speaker output to use for the speakers I have (8 ohms) very confusing for me, probably not a problem for anyone else.

I bought this audio component from Sony yesterday and it was well worth the wait. All my audio components have been Sony. And this item was more than I expected. The sound in itself is great. Crisp and clean. I was hoping for a nice Father's Day. I received one.

The unit should have come with a Antenna. The product we know is the best brand name as all our electronics are Sony.

With vinyl records coming back, I wanted to upgrade my sound system. This receiver, along with some decent 100 watt speakers sure did the trick. I have always been a fan of Sony products, and this did not disappoint. For a system on a budget, I highly recommend it.

Really great sound. Everything from the Rolling Stones to Rossini, it handled it perfectly. I chose this model so I could hook up my turntable. I'm going to hook the B&W's up to it next. Really happy with this receiver. Really happy with Sony!

I have only used it to listen to digital sources, for which its clarity is the utmost. Haven't yet tried the phono source functionality, but i plan to. Features like bluetooth from your phone to the amp, plus a hard wired jack for whatever music player you want to use with an output on it. Super clean sound.

I bought this amplifier to replace a 20 year old top of the range Sony amp. I am so pleased I did. It's very easy to use and the sound quality is as good if not better than my old unit. The Bluetooth is brilliant as are the dual A & B speakers.

I bought this about a month ago to replace a 34 year old (!) Sony Stereo receiver. The old one had AM-FM receiver capability. This one only has FM Receiver built-in, but it sounds a lot cleaner than the older model. This one has fewer output jacks than my older one, but is more than adequate for my setup (Sony Stereo Cassette Deck - going on 20 years now also !), and a bluetooth Audio-Technica Record Player. This model also contains the regular size headphone jack AND a standard audio output jack on the front for older style cassette players, walkman's, etc. Very unusual feature but useful for me as I still use some of that older gear from time to time. I primarily bought and use this product for its bluetooth capability which works excellently. I have my phone, and computer able to play music to it through bluetooth. I realize bluetooth specs don't carry the full frequency range for a lot of audio musical pieces (such as classical music), but for the everyday average pop music it's just fine. This is a great entry level unit for a person who is not an audio-phile. I also bought this because of Sony durability in its products. This thing is built like a brick. Good design accents, solid metal frame, heavy duty components. I will always buy Sony products - good balance between cost, design, and functionality. Couldn't be happier with this product.

I chose the STR-DH190 because it has all the features I was seeking, adequate power output, multiple line inputs and compact size, BUT the STR-DH190 I received has an annoying electro-mechanical chassis hum, audible at some distance from my Hi Fi station. Note that this hum is not the result of a hum loop but emanates from the casing of the STR-DH190. It is the type of the noise that is customarily associated with an inadequately secured windings or cores of a mains transformer.. I have not returned the item because I am not confident that Sony's automated returns process will give me an STR-DH190 that is free of this electro-mechanical hum.

I've had this for a few months now and love it. I can use my turntable again, and my CD player works excellently. The tuner was better than expected-plenty of power to push my MTX speakers. Looks great, is easy to find your way around, and delivers quality sound

The large capacity power transformer is built for clarity, reflecting Sony's commitment to the highest quality audio. Enjoy the subtlest nuances of studio-quality sound in higher than CD quality with High-Resolution Audio. This passion for music unites every component from signal to speaker, making it feel like the artist is performing right in front of you.
