The sub is a necessity in any home theater system. It upped my home theater experience and I would recommend for every system. Sonos should just include it with all their home theater systems.

If I had to be honest here, I avoided Sonos for too long due to being frightened off by the sticker price. Then I just pulled the trigger. I truly love it. I now have two rooms with a full surround set up. I have even installed the outdoor speakers on my deck. Sonos is such a great product that I can't say enough about it. The audio experience can't be described accurately in words. It must be heard. There are a couple of downsides. It IS expensive. However, the quality in sound and build makes it worth it. Also, it can be a little tricky to set up. Especially if you change the internet source. It can take some patience. Lastly, speaking of internet, all but the MOVE requires a wifi connection so if for any reason you lose it, you are without sound because they do not have a hard wire option.

I recently added a Sub to my Sonos system and immediately wished that I had purchased it a long time ago. Well worth the money but still expensive Now I want to upgrade my sound bar to the Arc. ??

I use with arc and two sl ones in my tv living room. Use with Tidal and Anazon music, and Sonos Radio which has not earned a spot in my heart. Stan Kenton Road Show and Judy Garland at Carnegie Hall have received a whole new dimension of sound, and not just in the lower registers, it has brought the sound across all the speakers to life. If, like me, you had the arc and surrounds, and wondered what all the shouting was about. Do not give up, spring for the sub and it will more than justify the expense for all of the system. Now I am contemplating two fives for surrounds. Listening to the Count as I write this, WOW!

Such awesome bass and looks awesome in our family room. I will definitely be adding a second. Really brings movies to life. I will be getting a 2nd sub to go with this one soon.

I was suckered in to the Sonos world. Initially I had a crummy JBL sound bar. I bought the Sonos beam sound bar and surprised and disappointed that the beam has no bass tone speakers. So, I bought a Gen 3 subwoofer. Handsome hunk of shiny black plastic. VERY frustrating set up process. The sub weighs THIRTY FOUR POUNDS. Crazy cumbersome. Then I sweated through HOURS of "setting up" which requires Saint-like patience. Simply RIDICULOUS. This is the Truth: the Sonos sub played great ONE TIME ? my Buddy and I watched/listened to an AC/DC DVD live show. The Gen 3 pounded and rocked the room. And after ? nothing. I tried with expert tech support to set up the sub woofer and boxed it up and returned it. And ordered another brand new Gen 3 ? and boxed it up and sent it back. The Sonos App is NOT user friendly and NOT dependable. I am listening to the Beam and wasted another half hour of my life setting up Alexa with the beam. I ordered a scratch & dent Sonos arc ? that device has a full array of speakers and will suffice. Without the subwoofer and the crazy setup. Obviously Sonos has good engineers for the hardware but their devices rely upon their Sonos App abd that software is not reliable. In the Big Picture the Sonos company is testing their stuff on their customers.

I have owned a Sonos Playbar for a couple of years now. I thoroughly have enjoyed the sound from it as was an almost complete system in itself. But I wanted more. So I purchased two Sonos One SLs and the subwoofer. What a complete system! The subwoofer pumps out the bass! Although not like a fancy Dolby Atmos system, the three pieces make a very complete system. It's simple to hook up and I've had no issues w/ it (unlike the Samsung $1500 system I purchased and had all kinds of problems). So, if you're looking for a solid system that easily upgradable, Sonos is the way to go!

I bought this sub on a whim because my Beam was lacking depth in my room. I thought it would be a nice addition, but based on the drivers I was concerned that for the amount of money I was spending, it just simply would not be able to live up to the hype.. Boy was I wrong! This sub is AMAZING! the depth of sound that comes from it is almost unnatural. Explosions in movies are a deep deep rumble, and bass on a son when playing music is crisp and clear and not distorted at all no matter how low the frequencies are. I could not recommend this any more to someone that has the Beam, or even a set one SONOS Ones. This take what is an extraordinary set of speakers and turns them into symphony quality sound.

There is no way anyone can say this isn't enough bass or bass quality. This bass has to be toned down in my apartment cause my neighbors can hear it across the hall and above me. The best quiality you can buy.

We have the sub, beam and first gen sound bar. The addition of the sub was worth every penny. Don't buy a system without the sub it moves the room.

As stated in a previous review, I've always been a Bose guy. Bose, in my opinion, always did well with bass and lower frequencies, in general, and fell short in the highs and mids. The Sonos sub is killer! Better than Bose? Yes. While the Sonos sub shakes things off the wall, it does a great filling the sound between the mids and thumping bass. I'm a bass head that is hard to satisfy, but this baby does it! I can't wait to add another one to the mix. The neighbors may not be as excited. :-)

I added this to my beam w/ surround ones system. It has added some intense bass and I don't even have it turned up past midway. I almost didn't get this because of the reviews saying it doesn't change much, but for me that couldn't be more false.

Purchased this to enhance bass in my main living area. I use a Sonos Connect product to provide the Sonos signal to my separate amplifier and in-ceiling speakers. No where on this website (that I could find) does it say this product is incompatible with Connect. Only after receiving, unboxing, setting it up (which of course didn't work) do I find out these two Sonos products don't work together. Frustrating.

We bought an entire Sonos system on November 24, 2020. It's December 5 and the subwoofer is rattling and apparently blown. I though we were purchasing high end but that's clearly not the case. We're regretting our purchase and returning it.

I wouldn't say I was skeptical before I bought the sub, I was asking myself "Do I even need it? Let's try it." But after watching the movie "6 Underground" I'm convinced, this thing sounds absolutely superb. It simply blows everything away, even Bose. I have 2 One SL's as surrounds and honestly, I don't expect to go into a theatre ever again.

Paired with the beam it is such a rich sound for my large living room. It shakes the couch!

I thought I was happy with my Sonos until I got the sub. This thing will blow your mind. My last sub was a Bose and this thing blows it away. I guarantee you will never even turn the bass all the way up on it. Even at low volumes you can feel it in your ears (hard to describe). This sub + 2 One's and you'll never go to the movie theater, again.

Not only does this thing look like an art piece where I placed it, the way it sounds is equally as unique. It carries clean bass but also THUMPS if you want it to. With that, the only thing I've found that collects dust better than swiffer, is the finish on this thing haha! Hope to find a solution for that but that would be the only thing keeping it from being a 20/10. For me it's still 15/10 because it exceeded expectations so much.

Before purchasing the sub I had an ARC sound bar and 2 Sonos Ones for surrounds. Most reviews said the ARC provides enough bass for most people and they were correct. But my curiosity got the better of me and I had to just try out the sub. Although I was satisficed with my subless 5.0.2 set up, when I added the sub I didn't recognize my system anymore! It was on a whole new level! Just watching car commercials was enjoyable.

I'm thoroughly impressed with the Sonos Sub. The fact that it puts out such exceptional low-range sound without having any of the inherent vibrations of other subwoofers. It's an impressive design and has added tremendously to our Sonos network.

I connected the sub to complete the surround sound system in our family room. I love how it fills the room with zero shaking/rattling, and how easy the setup was. The best sound system I have ever been able to hear! Could not recommend enough.

This is a fantastic sub. It performs very well when compared to subs that cost thousands. I was totally amazed and it's well worth the money.

Pair SUB with any Sonos speaker and you’ll hear parts of your music that you wouldn’t hear otherwise. That’s because SUB does all the heavy lifting required to deliver the low, low frequencies, leaving the speaker to focus on perfecting the mid and high-range frequencies. Adds dramatically deeper bass to any Sonos speaker (or CONNECT:AMP)
SUB works with any Sonos speaker or CONNECT:AMP.
Add bigger boom to your home theater by pairing with PLAYBAR or bring out the bass in your favorite tunes on your PLAY:1, PLAY:3, PLAY:5 or even your existing speakers hooked up to CONNECT:AMP.
The problem with moving all that air to create bass is it makes most subwoofers shake, rattle, and roll. Not SUB. We positioned the drivers on opposite sides, face to face, to cancel out the force of all that vibration. Deep, delicious bass is all you’ll hear.
Plug it in. The Sonos app does the rest, walking you through every step from connecting SUB to your WiFi to pairing it with the speaker in the room of your choice.
The setup of your room can have a big effect on the sound you hear. Trueplay measures your room and fine-tunes the sound to fit the space.
Bass is all about moving air. The more you move, the more bass you hear. SUB delivers amazing amounts of highly-detailed, dynamic bass by using a surprisingly strong pair of woofers to move air. We also designed SUB with an opening in the middle to move more air out of the enclosure. You won’t just hear the difference. You’ll feel it.
Software updates mean the product you buy today will be even better tomorrow.
Everything Sounds Better with SUB
When you pair a SUB with any Sonos speaker, you'll hear parts of your music that you wouldn't hear otherwise. Feel the Bass
Bass is all about moving air. The more you move, the more bass you hear. SUB delivers amazing amounts of highly-detailed, dynamic bass by using a surprisingly strong pair of woofers to move air. We also designed SUB with an opening in the middle to move even more air out of the enclosure.
All in the Family
SUB works with any amplified Sonos speaker or component. Add bigger boom to your home theater by pairing with PLAYBAR. Bring out the bass in your favorite tunes streaming on your PLAY:1, PLAY:3, PLAY:5 or the speakers you've connected to your CONNECT:AMP.
Zero Vibration
The problem with moving all that air to create bass is it makes most subwoofers shake, rattle and roll. Not SUB. We positioned the drivers on opposite sides of the enclosure, face to face, to cancel out the force of all that vibration. Deep, delicious bass is all you'll hear.
Quite a Looker
Most subwoofers are big black boxes without an ounce of personality or design integrity. Which is why they're usually hidden away in a corner. Everything, including the SUB's unique "O" shape, is designed to maximize sound quality and look beautiful in your home.
Front And Center or Out of Sight
Stand it tall or lay it flat. You can even hide it under the couch if you'd like. Either way, SUB brings out the bottomless bass you desire. SUB is equipped with rubber feet to prevent scratches and comes with additional felt feet if you want to lay it flat.
One App. Complete Music Control
The Sonos app helps you quickly search through all your services to track down favorite music, send it to different rooms and adjust the volume and other settings. You don't even have to be in the same room. And if your friends have the Sonos app, they can do the same.
