Questions & Answers

SCOTT B : How do I upgrade this notebook to Windows 8? It is still new in box, and I am about to begin using it.MICHAEL D : I believe the deadline for upgrading your notebook computer has not expired. You'd have to go to the Microsoft Windows 8 upgrade site and follow the instructions. Once you receive your registration code you can download the upgrade (2 hours on a decent connection) or pay for the upgrade media $30+ or so. My upgrade was straightforward without any problems. good luck.
Shopper : What is the operating system of this product? There is no such a product called Windows 7 Home Professional?ANDREW R : That would appear to be a typo graphical error. This unit should ship with Windows 7 Professional.
Shopper : does it have an optical drive?ANDREW R : Unfortunately no, like many "Ultrabook" class computers, this unit is not equipped with an optical drive.

Worst Purchase

Being a loyal customer all my laptops I bought in last 4 years is of Sony. But my last 2 recent purchases was the worst. Both of the computers have hardware failure. This computer have harddisk failure and I am sending it back for repair. Prior to this one also having hardware issue and was returned. I have no confidence in Sony laptop quality. I would rather buy other brand, they are even having 30 - 40% less price with same capability but more durable. So why to pay more.

Good value

The battery life is claimed to be 7 1/2 hours and that's what I'm getting. It's the first time I've ever gotten the claimed battery life. It's light weight, easy to carry or throw in a backpack. The only complaint I've had is for some reason the copy/paste function doesn't work well. The touch pad works almost the same as a touch screen in expanding or changing the screen size. And you can do it while eating pizza without getting grease on the screen

Pretty good

I had the new i5 MacBook Air and found the T series to be a perfect replacement for power, price, and design. MacBook Air has a weak frame and the screen bezel is very flexible. Unlike the T-series which has a very solid frame with very limited flexing of the bezel went opening and closing. The T-series does have some fan noise, but it runs noticeably cooler then the i5 Macbook Air.

good for the price

I wanted to buy a macbook air, but when I saw the sony, and the price tag, I couldn't resist to try it. It is 400 dollars cheaper, but lacks of backlit keyboard, uni body frame, and although the design is pretty cool and solid, it is not comparable to a macbook. If sony could loose these leds, and some of the ports (who needs a vga outlet on an ultrabook anymore?) it could be a more serious alternative to the macbook air. On the other hand you got a 500 gb hdd with a small ssd to make it faster, I think this is a better compromise than a 128 gb ssd and an external drive. Also I'm happy with it and will keep it for a long time probably.
