The UWP-D26 system is an ideal choice for a variety of applications, including electronic news gathering (ENG), electronic field production (EFP), documentaries, and weddings. The package includes the UTX-B40 bodypack transmitter, UTX-P40 XLR plug-on transmitter, and URX-P40 receiver, along with essential accessories.

With its digital audio processing, this system ensures high-quality sound with improved transient response performance. The optional digital audio interface enables direct digital sound recording with many Sony professional camcorders and Alpha interchangeable lens cameras via the SMAD-P5 Multi Interface MI shoe adaptor. This bypasses A/D and D/A conversion stages, further enhancing the sound quality.

Integration with compatible Sony camcorders is seamless, displaying crucial audio information such as RF level meter, audio mute status, and transmitter low battery alert in the camera's viewfinder.
