Jim W : Is this compatible with the xr 160?ROBERT D : I don't personally have an xr 160 and it is not listed in the compatibility list. Sorry I can't be of more help.Glen H : Yes, this tripod should be compatible with your XR-160.
Eric B : Is this compatible with other video cameras besides Sony?MICHAEL C : It is compatible with cameras that use Sony LANC. Not all features of the remote will necessarily work depending on your camera. Also, the cable is a 10-pin din. I'm using mine with the Canon XA10 which uses a 2.5mm stereo jack. I had to lop off the cable and solder my own jack to it and it's been working great! Unfortunately, the 'photo' button and the guide frame do not work. Everything else works great.LEW C : No ideaWENDY K : Honestly, I am not sure, but seems like it would be. Sorry, not much help here.Glen H : While other camcorders may be mounted to this tripod, the remote functions are limited to Sony camcorders.

Very convenient and easy to use

Use to take movies in children concert, weddings. Resutls were fantastic, no shake, stability. I would recommend the product.

For what I am doing this is a great!

To explain the con: The cable that controls the movement of the camera will not stay in the handle of the tripod. I have had several times that it has fallen out and ends up getting in the way during a shoot.
