Sony VCT-AM1 Action Cam Adhesive Mount Pack

I don’t understand what’s going on with Sony.... I have 2 of the X3000 cams for almost 4yrs now.... and still can’t get the adhesive mounts as a stand alone option to purchase..... I have like 15-20 of those base plates with the 1/4-20 inserts......... why doesn’t Sony have a purchase option of like “flat” and/or “curve” adhesive mounts ONLY....????

It uses the normal double side tape instead of 3M VHB Double Sided Foam Adhesive Tape. The tape is weak and not secure. Buy the new one instead.

I have my camera, but I needed another mount and an adapter plate, since I lost the one that came with my camera. It works great, and have fell a couple times, the mount is still there. PS don't try to switch your mount over two helmets, the adhesive was not intended fo be used twice

When I went to change my camera mount to another helmet, I have found a strong lack of support. The adhesive tape that holds the mount in place is not available anywhere. The regular double stick tape found at most stores is not strong enough to securely hold the camera in place. After several weeks of trying to locate the mentioned tape, I have mostly given up and will order a camers of another brand. My advise to a potential buyer is to look at all the up sides and all the down sides. I bought this camera because "Sony" is a name brand.
