There is one thing I am just wondering why Sony has to create such stupid thing like this? Why not just a LanC plug as usual. I have to buy 2 more cables before I can plug my Manfrotto Remote Control, so now there are 3 short cables to be able to control my camcorder. It looks not nice at all.

I finally found the perfect part and exactly what I was looking for. Adorama shipped it very fast.  I will definitely order from them again.

Ok this does work but I am annoyed that I had to buy it (in fact I had to buy 2 as I have 2 new camcorders). It's only a 3 years or so since Sony brought out the D shaped AV connector and so I had to buy adaptors then as well. Now I have had to but an adaptor for the adaptor. As far as I can work out Sony themselves don't have anything which uses the new interface, so the need for this piece of equipment. It is totally pointless.
