Love the TV. Great picture even for antenna reception being I don't have cable. I have Amazon Prime and the HD movies look great. I hope it lasts as long as my huge Sony Wega which still worked and had a good picture but was outdated. The frustration at times is slow start up, slow to switch between app screens at times and at times I cannot use apps because the Sony server is down and that is what the apps connect through.

So I loved my 55" Mitsubishi rear projection screen. Lasted 15 years. We've seen a lot together. World Cups, the first season of American Idol, Jack Bauer, 911. But it just gave out. Almost to the day I bought it. So, this TV is still just a TV if that makes any sense. But what I have seen so far is beautiful. It has a very rear projection feel, a sort of earthy quality to the picture. Honest. Not overly bright, but sharp and ... Earthy.

Amazing picture quality with great depth and color usage. Sometimes I feel like I could step through the screen and walk around in whatever I'm watching. I love this tv!

The television delivers incredibly beautiful pictures that sadly are interrupted by occasional all black screens where picture and sound are lost . This makes it all but impossible to watch something without eye irritation and an eventual headache. I am going to have my cable company check their connection to make sure that they aren't the culprits,, but in the meantime I can only rate the television 4 stars which under the circumstances I think is being generous. Obviously if the problem can be isolated and fixed in the very near term a new star will be born. If this situation cannot be fixed fast, I will return the product and cancel cable. Another irritation is that the bulk of the help system is online. If a TV doesn't work, online help doesn't work either. A detailed manual can, and should, be available in print and included with the product.

The picture and sound are fantastic. Figuring out how to use the many features is not. I have 30+ years with computers and electronics. The menu navigation is confusing, help and hint information is very lacking, and some features (such as mirroring a picture from a Windows 8.1 PC) do not work.

We had another much less expensive TV selected and then saw this one. Wow! Amazing color and picture. The rest is history. We bought it. My only complaint is lousy sound. Why can't TV manufacturers get sound right? The reason I did not give 5 stars is the lack of sound quality.

We love the TV. The picture quality is absolutely amazing. We have been watching Marco Polo on Netflix and the difference was just unbelievable. We switched from an eight year old Sony HD that we had been happy with but had seen better days. We also love the Smart TV access to streamed content. It makes Netflix, You Tube, Amazon, all just as easy to use as our DVR.

I truly do love this TV and it deserves 5 Stars! If you have a good or even decent signal the picture quality and deep rich color are awesome! I have not noticed any shadowing or ghosting in fast action. I have a PS3 and love playing it just to see the graphics! In my opinion the design of the TV is awesome. It looks great in my family room! In all honesty I was going to gig this TV one star for the lack of available content! You know, the content that we don't have to pay an arm and leg for... i.e.: $699.00 box + cost of content! Sooo I put it here and did not gig! Come on Sony, really?! All's we want to do is "show off" our new TV to friends and family! Even a copy of the beautiful Demo that is playing on the Sony UHD TV's in the "BigBox" stores would be nice...

Excellent Picture, design, and easy setup. Cons: Watch out ! To have great audio from the TV, you need to purchase seperate soundbar system or home theather. From time to time the TV will make strange loud clicking sound from the build in relay switch.

TV was easy to install, however every picture i see of this tv shows the TV legs at the ends of the tv but mine can only be placed close to the center of the tv. Would really appreciate finding out if mine was just manufactured incorrectly or something.

I really love this TV there are only a couple of things that bring it down by 1 star. First the picture is excellent and I love the passive 3d, I hope Sony continues to produce TV's with passive 3d as I feel like I'm in the theater when I watch my 3d Movies, everyone who comes over to watch movies love the 3d effect. I also have a Panasonic 4k camera and the output to this TV is amazing. Now for the negatives, when I watch TV or Movies at night there is some light bleed from the corners and when the screen is supposed to be black I can see light bleed on many parts of the screen, it's not bad enough for me to return the TV and I've seen it on other brands as well. I wish there was better local dimming on this set, maybe it can be improved with a firmware update. The other thing I noticed in the instructions is it only supports 3d up to 2k and I know with passive 3d that 4k would be amazing, I hope that Sony starts to support 4k passive 3d, if those things were fixed I would definitely give this TV 5 stars.

I'll mention only cons here: - slow response on APPS and surfing thru settings etc - Useless Internet browser - cannot update Adobe Flash, cannot install video streaming plug-ins - cannot mirror smart phones except SONY phones - cannot mirror a laptop unless is miracast compatible (Windows8) - wi-fi unstable Its just not worth from SMART TV perspective when the cheapest blu-ray player can do much better.

Best TV I ever owned and one that will carry me well into the future. The image, sound, exterior design and quality are very impressive. The colors are real time, the 4K and 3D are out-standing. Whenever friends come over for a meal and a movie the word WOW!!! is the most frequent comment.

I am 75-year-old female and other than hooking it up to the cable box, which the guys who brought the TV did, I set up everything else, including my blue-ray DVD player and old VCR player. Only difficulty I had was finding the audio output, which was hidden under the 'plugs' for the VCR player, to connect the sound bar.

Fantastic picture, easy setup, and convenient downloads. Couple this unit with a Blue Ray DVD and it's like your looking at an object through a microscope. Can't imaging actors and actresses are liking this product - even the smallest of blemishes are revealed.

Easy set up with my current cable subscription, and I'm not technically inclined. Excellent picture, visitors to our home rave about how crisp the viewing is. Used it to Skype last night, was a hit allowing the whole family to chat with friends compared to a computer monitor.

Great TV, but not noticeably better than my existing HDTV. It's 4K, but I can't tell you if that's good, because there is no 4K content. Sony gives you nothing - not even a demo - unless you spend another $700 for a 4K media server. Netflix has a few 4K titles, but you can't see them (not even a sample or teaser) unless you bump your subscription up by $4 per month. Amazon Instant Video has committed to host 4K video someday. Sony claims this TV will upscale content to 4K. Since there is no basis of comparison, I can't verify this. So, it's a good TV which is, I suppose, ready for the future. Just don't expect any of that without spending more.

I recently purchased this tv. I loved the design slim body the adjustable feet I set it up and was surprised at the picture quality on HD antenna , dvd looked really good. even steaming 480 or higher video from my computer was more than acceptable. Here comes the but.....I have a large blu ray collection and most of the movies are in 2.35 aspect ratio which means black bars athe top and bottom ,thats good , it draws your eye to the image your watching. On this set the black bars are not black, as in my present xbr. on this xbr 850b are grey. .in some movies the lighter shade blends with the scene. example 2001 , space scenes at times look like its filling the whole screen. then there is light emitting from the corners. This is XBR it should be better. I am very disappointed and really wanted this tv, , but because a lot of my viewing is blu ray , I could not accept this . and have since returned it. pehaps local dimming would eliminate this problem, for normal viewing it is excellent.

When it comes to 4k uhd videos, photos & other 1080p videos upscaled to 4k uhd, the picture is out of this world!! Sony gives you 30% more true color then any other tv company. Sony also gives you the true natural color that other tv companies dont do. Has great apps & more. Great thing about tv is all hdmi inputs are hdmi 2.0, other companies make you pay hundreds to upgrade to hdmi 2.0 in future. Love how the tv stand legs can go in 2 different places. And Sony is the only tv company that gives you that 1:1 picture like you should see it, all other tv companies give you 4:1, cutting down hd graphics and picture. I suggest buying the ps4 & bdp-s7200 with the tv. Sony.Make.Believe. Tv is easy to use & set up.
