I was so excited to buy this monitor . Waited for better offer for a very long time. My first monitor in OLED but I cannot use this monitor for 2 hours without eye strain and headache. I tried with eye care - high mode as well but still head ache and eye pain. Later after little research found out that OLED PWM is bad eyes. Better check your eye sensibility before buying this. Have to return. I love Samsung products. All my gadgets are Samsung but unfortunately this OLED is not for me or not for my eyes.

I bought the 49 inch wide screen gaming monitor to game & also to work from home when required as it easily replaces 3 of my office monitors into 1. It had some issues with port connectivity at first but future software updates fixed the issues. A solid monitor for gaming & productivity and watching movies. The display clarity and refresh rate is really good bit on the shiny side, and not having anti Reggie reflective coating hurts a little.

Bought this new from Samsung and 2 days after install it started glitching. I tried looking into software updates and drivers then headed off to their FAQ and online support. Made multiple phone calls only to be regularly connected to their appliance support or repair instead of customer support until they ran out the clock to return it - even though I requested to do so multiple times. VERY frustrating trying to contact Samsung and they keep transferring you from one wrong department to another. I literally spent 3 hours on the phone with these guys and still got nowhere! Their warranty is a joke as well. 3 yr. manufacturer's warranty covers replacing brand new (although malfunctioning) parts with used / refurbished units that are even worse than new! Why would I pay for a NEW product only to get a refurbished unit? Not to mention, when they schedule a service rep to do an in-home examination of the unit they never have whatever part needs to be replaced - so you end up taking several days off work for the multiple trips for in-home repairs ALL scheduled multiple weeks apart - and the service reps do not even have the courtesy to show up on time. So you will spend more time without a working monitor in your first year of ownership than you will get use of it (and if it is anything like mine, it will break 2 or 3 times in your first year). I have 2 old VGA monitors that I bought back in 2010 that still work today - not a pixel lost or any of the lines from this OLED. I've been tempted to just use an old 55 in. Samsung curved TV as a monitor since their promise to keep continuously updating their One Connect box. The screen is still perfect - but the box is shot and alas, no updates. Samsung USED to be a great brand; however, the only thing of theirs that I like and still works flawlessly is my Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone! Shame on Samsung for advertising a 3 yr. warranty but burying in their warranty details about the used parts. OH - and OPT OUT of their default into a "mediation" contract. You will have to send an email with explicit form language with ALL the information they require. It is somewhere on their site, so look for it and OPT OUT!

The picture is really really great. Unfortunately that is the only thing that is great. Because it only works about 80% of the time. I experience a ton of handoff issues especially with the DP port. I regularly check for updates, clear the cache, and take care of it, but since the beginning (I am new to the PC world and thought that it may have been some pc or user issue) I have learned a lot since then and no, it is clearly a handoff issue. The interesting thing is that in the self care area there are tests for the HDMI but nothing I have seen for the DP connections. Another issue is the pop ups for the gaming. It blocks areas that I need to see when I need to see them. And what I feel is the absolute worst thing about this monitor that seems to be having an identity crisis as to if it is a monitor or a tv, Is if your remote control, which is supposed to be solar but the solar panel is on the bottom of the remote so it never sees sun, dies. your monitor is also dead in the water. Honestly I feel I am being generous with the 2 star but for 1440 it is a really nice picture.

I BOUGHT THIS A FEW MONTHS AGO and the screen has gone completely and still haven't gotten a response from Samsung about a replacement or even just sending me the screen to do it myself~~!

The screen was beautiful right out of the box; however, within 2 days it starting flashing (like a camera) while arcing out causing pock marks on the screen. When I contacted Samsung, we went through all of the technical steps (multiple times) until the window closed to send it back for a refund. After that, I got nothing but runarounds about what is and is not a manufacturer's defect and them wanting to send someone out to repair (instead of replace) a brand new monitor. Read the warranty closely - they can use refurbished parts on a brand new monitor instead of replacing it as they should. Do NOT buy direct from Samsung either (15 day return policy - so if you buy on a Black Friday sale, you won't know if there is a defect or damage until way after the return date) - buy from a big box store with a generous return policy (cause trust me, you'll need it). Now 1 year later, there are MULTIPLE pock marks because this thing never stopped arching! TERRIBLE customer service (if you want to call it that). Not to mention, the monitor wants to nap for 10 minutes while you are in the middle of something and there's no way to control it from your keyboard. So if the monitor is "just out of reach," it will shut itself off! If only... it could have been a great monitor if the bugs had been worked out first and Samsung stood behind its product!

I bought this monitor to replace my broken one. I decided I wanted something higher end not just bare minimum as I've usually done. The dual display was what initially caught my attention. I use this in our RV and at home for gaming. It's great to not need multiple screens for things as I had in the past when home gaming. It's been great in our RV as my husband and I can each use it together. While I'm streaming from my handheld gaming console and he's playing Playstation it's been pretty great during our travels to have one display that works for multiple things. My complaints, the provided remote is kinda annoying it's far too sensitive and tends to constantly have accidental input. It's also semi frustrating to get the dual display up and going. Make sure you have the patience to go through the setup each time. Not very user friendly and intuitive. These are the reason I've taken off a star. Over all still far better than all my previous monitors.

I've had this monitor for a few months now, and it has been great so far. The OLED picture is very nice, and the 49 inch size is great for productivity.

What a disappointment. Like many other reviews, my monitor started blinking off and then stopped working altogether. Different ports, cables, devices, same issue, completely dead after six months. I'm over a month in to my warranty "support" process, I've never dealt with anything like this. Terrible communication, sometimes via text, sometimes chat, no reason to it. They can't find a tech in southern New England to troubleshoot the monitor, so they eventually agreed to send me a replacement monitor, weeks later ticket was closed as the address for their warehouse was wrong (wow). They might be giving me my money back now but they won't do that until they have the faulty monitor. They won't let me ship it back, instead a third party trucking company will collect it but of course they are no where to be found. Many many hours on phone and chat with Samsung, never again.

The Samsung 34" Odyssey OLED G8 (G85SD) is hands down one of the best monitors I've ever used. The Ultra-WQHD OLED display is breathtaking - colors are vivid, blacks are true and deep, and the contrast is incredible. Whether I'm gaming, watching movies, or working with design tools, everything looks crisp and lifelike. The 175Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time make a massive difference in fast-paced games. Motion is buttery smooth, with no ghosting or tearing, and the G-Sync compatibility keeps everything perfectly in sync. I also love the curved screen, which adds a real sense of immersion without feeling overdone.

QD OLED is migraines. Beautiful monitor, terrible for reading and productivity work. If QD OLED wasn't so terrible in blue light, and instead were Tandem or VA Mini LED, if it had 4K, PWM flickering was less (Comes with QD) and if windows cleartype weren't so brutal on oled I actually would love this monitor for what it is. Also the remote is kind of annoying/settings are difficult to work with Also

After two months I finally figured out what was causing tension headaches with nausea that would not go away or respond to treatment. It was this monitor. I tried all settings and moving it further away. If you are sensitive, beware!

I have had this monitor and the 49" version for almost a year now. The image quality and size are great. What's terrible as others had stated, is the UI and how slow it is to turn on. Mine both will also randomly turn off even if I am actively using my computer. Sometimes when I'm waking my computer and logging in, the monitor will immediately go into standby mode quite often. I have to unplug it from my computer and plug it back in for the screen to reconnect to my computer. This is isn't a belkin dock on a Macbook pro via thunderbolt usb-c connection, I only use just one monitor via the dock.

Great monitor / TV but if you're looking for something that just monitor and ultra-wide this isn't it. I've had these two years since it came out. It's had couple updates and that's been it, but what's really getting under skin is the delay response when turning on my computer and the monitor not coming on with it. When you turn it on, then the tv part takes over and doesn't connect the pc. As your force to wait !! 2 mins and then tell it to connect to the pc. Now would buy this monitor again. I would for a tv part, but as a monitor no! Now playing in games love it, the blacks on AMD are pretty dark as in some games you're having to mess with the colors to even see things in the dark (in game).

The monitor offers an expansive display that truly immerses you in your games. Its vibrant colors and exceptional contrast ratios make visuals pop with stunning realism. The high refresh rate and fast response time deliver incredibly smooth and responsive gameplay. Furthermore, the monitor's curved design helps create a more engaging and comfortable viewing experience for extended use. Overall, it is a great choice for gamers looking to elevate their setup. P.s i highly recommend.

It is absolutely amazing. This was my first time buying an oled and it does not disappoint. I did buy this on sale, but it was worth every penny. The colors pop extremely well. I dont like turning my brightness up, I tested it. It gets fairly bright, not as bright as other panels have tried. But really good. Still I also like the t v function.I don't normally use it to watch actual t v but I do use it to watch streaming services and it works. Do wish it had some sort of oled pixel clean up, but it has 3 year warranty so not too worried. You do have to go into windows and fix up the text problems, or at least I did, but I got it to a good point. Also it is just windows, the text looks absolutely fine when using samsungs software.

Great monitor for desktop use, low heat and actually decent sound and smart features.

I've been using this monitor primarily for my PC, and while the smart features can feel a bit laggy, they work well enough to double as a TV if you spend most of your time in your room. After about a year and a half, I ran into an issue where half of the screen showed different brightness levels, but running a diagnostic and resetting the settings quickly resolved it. Since then, I haven't had any further problems. Some people recommend going for an even wider monitor, but for me this one fits perfectly and looks great on my desk setup. The display quality is excellent, and I'd definitely recommend it for PC gaming.

I use it not just for gaming streaming but I also use it for movies and work. And schoolwork, not only is it easy on the eyes, but also the gaming graphics are absolutely and completely sharp and undeniably vibrant and very smooth.

This is a fantastic monitor for productivity. While I don't use it for gaming, as a software engineer and video content editor, I truly appreciate its high resolution and refresh rate, particularly when editing 4K content. The curvature is more subtle than my previous 49-inch monitor, which conveniently frees up more desk space in front. The included remote is very handy; however, I wish it had a dedicated KVM-style button to switch between inputs. I have both my personal and work PCs connected, and switching between them requires navigating to the Home screen and then to Connected Devices every time.

I have the first version of the 49' when they first release it and love this oled one. My only down side is that this oled isn't as curved as my first one but I think it's because of the oled but that's ok, my other concern is the remote on this thing to watch movies and other things is kind of laggy or yea but other then that it works for gaming on pc

Let's get the only negative out of the way first: the tizen OS for this monitor leaves a LOT to be desired. Changing inputs is more difficult than it should be. The monitor switching to the chosen input feels very sluggish. If given the option, choose the non-smart model. Ok, now the fun stuff: The picture is absolutely gorgeous! This looks as good as my LG OLED. The refresh rate is next tier! No screen tearing, due to gsync compatibility. Effectively zero input lag. It's absolutely bananas. There is so much screen real estate that I can work on three tasks simultaneously. Text is bold and clear, which was a very nice surprise. After almost a year of ownership, not a trace of burn in to be found. I gave this 4 stars, since 4.5 wasn't an option. Tl/Dr - if you're on the fence, just buy it. You won't be disappointed. Although, be prepared to drop some money on an upgraded graphics card. My 4070 TI super wasn't quite cutting it, so I had to drop some mad money on a 1590 just to make sure I could put the monitor through its paces.

It's a huge monitor and has a nice screen quality. However, every minute, my screen blinks. Also, any of USB-C ports won't work and the back light is always off. It's a too expensive monitor to have all of these issues. Most of things that Samsung promised to this monitor are not working. It's very frustrating. I called support via phone. They asked me to access a software to stream the monitor, it did not work. Then, I was asked to wait, after 2 minutes the call was hanged up and no return calls were made. It's very sad that you buy a monitor that promised quality and gives the customer problems.

This is absolutely a great monitor best of its kind. Clear picture I have also a 4k oled monitor and I still use this monitor more for single player games. The preset settings it offers are great also and make the colors extremely vivid even compared to my Alienware 4k monitor. Definitely recommend this monitor for single player enthusiasts. I can't go back to any other monitor for single player games. If you do not have this monitor you are not gaming properly.

Let me first start off by saying this is my first OLED panel and ultra-wide monitor! It is truly the best viewing experience when it comes to browsing, web development, video editing, and especially gaming. I love coming home and just watching movies on this monitor. It is hard to get the same experience anywhere else because of how much I spoiled myself with this monitor. I truly, after using it, never want to use another brand other than Samsung monitors. The OLED makes the colors stand out so well, and I still say after almost a year of using it still get blown away when looking at it. The fact that the monitor looks that good and I can get 240 Hz out of it is WILD! To be able to have the competitive edge and quality is insane! I never could get the quality out of my games, movies, or any media for that matter until I got this monitor, and I truly will never go back to a 16:9 panel unless it was a Samsung monitor. It really helps me when I work from home, and it helps me with productivity and has helped me not need a second monitor. I am a content creator, and when streaming, it is amazing that I can have 5 things happening all at once on one monitor rather than having multiple and not feel like I need the extra peripherals. Overall, I am just impressed with what I didn't know how much I would get the use out of the monitor and now it' better than any other monitor I have use previously and I prefer ultra-wide over normal 16:9 panels any day! Ultimately satisfied!

This monitor has a beautiful picture and has really cool features. Unfortunately Samsung completely lies about the warranty. If you click the warranty link on the Samsung website in the United States, it says three years and does not cover burn in. Once you buy it from Samsung directly and register it, it will only have 1 year of warranty and they say you must buy it from a different store besides Samsung for 3 years. I loved this monitor but had to return it for the Alienware AW3425dw because the Alienware was cheaper, has a 3 year warranty that covers burn in, and actually looks better in person with a much faster refresh rate. I took the time to side by side compare them before returning this and there was no contest. The Alienware won in every category. Samsung really dropped the ball on the end product, pricing, and product support. There are better OLED monitors with better specs and insanely better warranty for hundreds less even when this monitor has its best sale.

Samsung monitors are among the best for gaming PCs, just as it is the maker of the best Phone screens. I use the 49" G9 display on my god tier Gaming PC. The PC master race requires it. It has many features that gamers will find useful and the Monitor itself has amazing build quality and amazing aesthetics.
