Very well constructed, heavy base allows tablet to be adjusted to hang at a right angle from the support pole, without any tipping of the base.

Apple Pencil a must have!

Works flawlessly, was using a cheaper pen for my iPad initially that I got from amazon. This Apple Pencil works so much better, stick with the apple pen!

Best pencil for your IPAD!

I purchased this Apple Pencil (2nd gen) with my new late 2018 12.9" iPad Pro and it works perfectly with my iPad.

I know some of the things one might enjoy about this particular pencil:
- It magnetically sticks to the side of the iPad Pro where it is the right side in portrait mode (with the front camera at the top) or on top in landscape mode (with the front camera on the left side). That is how it charges and pairs (be sure to have Bluetooth on for it to detect).
- Every time you stick it on the iPad Pro, it will show battery life or you can look in the battery section on the widget panel.
- There is a shortcut gesture available to be assigned when you double-tap the pencil right by where the index finger goes on top.
- It's got a good weight balance to it (doesn't feel to cheap & light, but not too obtrusively heavy).
- It has a good ergonomic feel and grip to it when in use and provides pinpoint accuracy when in use.
- There is a lot more control with line drawing and such; I'm able to edit while riding in the car as a passenger or on a flight with mild turbulence.

I specifically bought this pencil:
- To be used to more accurately edit photos on Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC on iPad. It provides much more control and accuracy when applying local adjustment brushes and spot removal!
- The experience is not exactly on par with computer editing with a Wacom tablet, but definitely far better than trying to do so with your fingers!

The one thing one might want to be aware of? While the magnetic force of the attached pencil to the side of the iPad Pro is strong, it's not strong enough to keep it in place against accidentally being knocked off its mount. Just be careful when taking it in and out of bags/cases or when carrying it!

iPad Pro

I've had both generations of Apple Pencil and I'm happy to say I prefer the 2nd gen. The charging on the iPad is SO much better than having to stick the end into the lightning port!!! And I like the double tap feature that's programmable. It hasn't seemed completely accurate in some instances so I don't know if that's the app or the iPad or the pencil but it does a very good job most of the time. I'm a digital artist and I use the pencil every day.

Nice pen which can be automatically charged!

Beautiful device. We like it for the ability to jot notes for work, nice big screen to watch movies, and the kid likes it to draw pictures. Smooth interface compared to Surface Pro. Make sure you get Applecare!

Expensive but high quality

Apple Pencil 2nd generation

If you're a casual tablet user the Apple Pencil is not necessary. If you are a digital creator, or planning to do some video and photo editing, this may come in handy. Other than that no issues whatsoever but the price is still steep for how little it does.

The Pencil 2 was lighter than the 1st one. Also mat finish. A few mm shorter. Double tal pencil to choose eraser.
