I picked up the Ally expecting to mostly have it be used to stream games from the cloud, but it's a surprisingly capable machine. It does take some time to get comfortable with the many layers of operation here, and switching between storefronts can be a chore at times - but to have Steam, Epic, GoG, and Xbox all available to me on one handheld platform is really worth putting in the effort. Fortunately once you have games installed it's a simple matter to pull up your library and jump right into it, no matter where it originated. I'm really interested in seeing where this platform goes.

I think this is a solid device with good hardware. That being said, it leaves a lot to be desired. It really feels like a beta release. It's hard to navigate, the keyboard disappears randomly, and several games have a tendency to lag. All of which makes for a frustrating gaming experience. I hope to see some updates in the coming months that make this device more of an easy reach. As far as comfort goes, I love the ergonomic design. It has a really good hand feel. I like the color; white is classy in my opinion.

This is one of the best products on the market. My teenager loves it, he can connect to T.V. with his dock( extra did not come with product) and play with his friends. It is charged with in a couple hours. Comes with cable. Has a great grip the handles are very comfortable when playing.

I've never owned a hand held gaming system before and this one is super cool. It's works amazing and connects right away. It isn't slow at all and is easy to hold . The controls are a little confusing but it's like a Xbox controller I am kinda confused on how to work it all. I'm still learning as I go. This is a PC and Xbox in one and is a very cool item . It's got great siound and picture as well. It's kinda pricey but worth it. Take it with you on the go anytime. Only issue I have is everything is little print and I have a hard time reading and working it. I highly recommend!!!!

The design is pretty unique (to me), with the wide and tall screen, control buttons on the back, the lights, its similarity to a controller which also makes for a comfortable hold. Some games are not compatible with the device, with some being workable to play and others not so much, and the apps will say whether or not they're compatible. I didn't do too much in the way of using it like a computer, but I like that it can be used as such, and that it can control your computer if you have Windows 11. The set up was easy, and I did find it to be a bit of a learning curve just trying to figure out all the controls to play games, but I picked it up quickly.

Several times I was trying to sign in with my password on the lock screen and the keyboard wouldn't activate properly. Overall, the system has great hardware quality, and the concept is cool. But if you're buying this expecting a true handheld-console experience, this isn't quite that. It's more like a tablet. Still solid, but definitely has some issues.

The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally has a 7" screen that is crystal clear screen that projects beautiful color. The volume goes pretty loud. The battery seems to last awhile. This fits really well in my hands and also in a child's hands. The weight isn't too heavy which I was really impressed with. I know this product can do way more and I've barely scratched the surface. I highly recommend for any gamer you know!

Very well built and can handle multiple games. I love that they let you use epic games store, steam, and Xbox game pass. Mostly the games run very well, though I have noticed that there are some issues with the games when switching between apps, hence why the 4 stars. It's very comfortable in your hands and has vents on the back so it doesn't overheat as easily. I would say it's nice to get if you plan on traveling a lot.

The initial setup was easy but took a little bit but after that things went smoothly. The graphics and sounds are good and it fits nicely in your hands. I like that it's portable and you can take it with you places to play games. The battery life doesn't last long and could be better.

This handheld gaming device is really cool, I love that I can relax in bed and play Xbox/PC games and or watch stuff in the comfort of my bed and blankets, and you can bring it anywhere which is so convenient. It runs really well and you can do so much on it, it's honestly like a mini computer. It was very easy to set-up and the button layout is similar enough to an Xbox controller that I didn't have any issues adjusting/playing. My only complaint is that it is on the heavier side to hold so if you want to lay down and play it, it can hurt your wrists to hold up after a while unless you have it propped up.

My husband is absolutely obsessed with this device! He plays on it for hours every day. It's like a mini computer and console in one. I'm an in home pet sitter, so we stay at people's houses constantly. It's so nice for him to have something to play on while away from home. I couldn't recommend it more if you travel a lot but still want to play PC/Xbox games. It's very lightweight and feels like you're playing with a console remote. It has amazing graphics as well!

While I overall really like this device, I think there are some flaws and the price point is really high for what it is. The chip in this device is about 3 years old, and is essentially the same as what the Steam Deck uses, and that device is considerably cheaper and has better support. The new Xbox full screen experience is a very nice improvement on regular Windows on handhelds, but its still clear that it isn't a native handheld experience so it just doesn't compare to SteamOS. Performance on the same hardware with SteamOS is also better, but thankfully if you're tech savvy you can install alternate OS options like Bazzite. With these flaws out of the way, I can say that there are some really nice aspects of this device too. The ergonomics are far better than other handhelds, even if that makes it a larger device. The LCD screen is nice, though at this price point I would have liked to see OLED. It's very quiet, even when the fans kick on they never get very loud. The speakers are amazing, much better than I would have expected for a device like this. The RAM is built in, but you can swap out the SSD for more storage, or just use a microSD card which is nice. It comes with a 65W USB-C charger with a built in cable. I would have liked a removable cable, but it still works and charges quickly. Most modern laptops use similar chargers now so you can use alternatives easily. The build itself is mostly plastic, but it does feel high quality. The buttons are a little clicky and cheap feeling, but the joysticks are very nice. It comes with a few months of Xbox PC Game Pass so you can try out a lot of games and get a feel for performance, which is nice, but just keep reasonable expectations as this is fairly underpowered. I have been playing No Man's Sky with a 30-45 FPS with FSR and it's been pretty smooth but it doesn't compare to a true console or gaming PC experience. Overall, I think if you can snag this device for closer to $450 it's a great purchase if you know what games you'll play on it. At the retail $600 though I would not recommend.

After going through the updates and watching YouTube university I was able to get it set up very easily. I haven't experienced any issues delays or lag with the game. I've even used it for YouTube on the Windows PC portion of it and it's flawless, touchscreen, easy to navigate and a legit mini computer and Xbox! Because it's so new I'm still waiting to get some screen protectors and a case and other cool trinkets for the system! No plastic smell when opening the product. This is a solid gaming system, feels like an Xbox controller with a large screen, but super lightweight and easy to travel with. Imagine using this on a roadtrip, plane, train, etc! Top tier gaming system! I know this retails around $600 and I think it's worth every penny! It's a gaming system on one end while also being a pc on the other end! Thank you again Influenster!

This hand held is very powerful, allows you to game on steam from your x box or buy your own games on it. The issue I see with the device is that it is advertised as an Xbox to go. You can only play games that you own on the ally by cloud gaming into your own x box or if it's a "play everywhere title". They give you 3 months of Xbox premium but you need ultimate to download the pc games to the ally. Buying a steam deck would be cheaper and accomplish nearly the same.
