Great piece of equipment. I've wanted a good, small scanner for more than a year. The small scanners I bought from three other companies were mediocre quality and failed way too soon. This Canon unit is heavier than those other units, but that's not an issue for me because I won't travel with it. Excellent software, clear instruction manual, lots of customizable settings, well thought-out physical design, and a dedicated business card scanning slot. Why four stars instead of five? Connection. it has a USB Mini connector on the scanner end and a USB 3.0 connector on the other. USB 3.0 is going away in the Mac world. Since the scanner must plug directly into a computer (no hubs), that limits its utility. I run the scanner on an older laptop with several USB 3.0 ports. A very little bit inconvenient. Hopefully Canon will offer a newer model with USB-C (or later) when the marketing life of this ImageFormula R10 ends.

This scanner was provided by my work to scan various documents and receipts. I've been using it regularly for about 7 months (HP laptop, Windows 11) and overall it works great. Pros: - Nifty tray - Auto feed usually works very well - Double-sided - Auto corrections - Reasonably fast Cons: - All images are scanned ever so slightly crooked (in a way that seems more to be a result of how it optically scans the doc over time rather than the feed mechanism) - Paper auto detect usually not sensitive enough for receipts and other light paper; you have to use your finger to get it to grab on. - CaptureOnTouch Lite software is janky: -- Interface not optimized for hidpi screens; some information gets cut off. -- No way to change scan settings from "auto"-more control would be great. -- You CAN change the file save settings, but it's unnecessarily tedious. -- No way to change orientation of scanned images. -- Software will sometimes analyze an image and auto-rotate it to compensate for crookedness, but occasionally it will take an image that didn't need rotation and rotate it a few degrees just for fun. I tried to compensate for this manually by feeding it with opposite rotation, but no, the software always made sure it ended up rotated the same crooked way. - My file explorer pops up automatically when I turn the scanner on, but my coworker's does not, and we can't figure out why. - You're kinda left on your own to figure out certain features like the card scanner; Canon website's no help either. So yeah, no major issues, it does it's job, but I would hope that a future version (or software update) would address most of these annoying cons.

Working well, no software problems with my macbook air. A bit slow, but that is to be expected for a scanner than runs off of usb-c power. So far so good!

Difficult to connect; randomly disconnects once connected (at least 65% of the time). I travel 1-3 times a month and though this would be a great tool but it has proven to be an embarrassment. It is 100% more efficient to use the can feature on my phone

I bought this scanner and I am so happy to have made the purchase. It comes with a built in software so there was no need for a setup process - just plug and use. Very intuitive, easy to use, and very adorable as well. I highly recommend! 5 stars from me :)

I have been disappointed with this product's ability to handle multiple sized paper/content. Full-sized sheets of paper (8.5 x 11) consistently work well, but I have difficulty loading receipts and business cards, for example.

Been using as main Baseball card scanner for ebay postings with good quality. DOWN SIDE, R10 DOES NOT work on newer Model M1 & M2 chip Ventura OS MacBooks. Reason being Canon has not updated a driver compatible with those chips. Latest 12/9/2023 R10 firmware update DID NOT INCLUDE new M1 M2 chip drivers. There is no Canon release date to correct M1 M2 Driver problem, confirmed with Customer Service 9/14/2023, no update scheduled.

I so wanted to leave a good review because this little Canon R10 scanner has so much going for it but yet it failed our office. We bought two for the office about two months ago - 5/2023. The good: both have great quality images, love that it automatically aligns a page to be straight. Love that you can add pages after the initial scanned documents, and love that you can reorganize the order of scanned pages within the software. The ease of use for the program is great, user friendly. Basically it's a great machine except for the following two issues: neither of the two machines will scan cards, which was one of the main reasons why we purchased this particular scanner. Tried drivers licenses, credit cards and benefit cards and none will pull through the scanner. The other issue is one of the scanners will not pull the first page through without forcefully pushing the top of the paper. Doesn't matter if it's a single page to scan or multiple pages, the first page always has to be pushed through. The other scanner has similar issues but happens far less often. Nothing in the troubleshooting section addresses these issue that I have found. Canon is such a good product but this feel short or maybe I got a lemon. ??

This is an absolute piece of junk the scanner pulls in multiple pages. I get messages that there is no paper in the feeder when there clearly is. I can't believe this gets the good reviews it does.

Love it. Scans fast and both sides at once, if that is what you want. It is very portable and extremally easy to set up/install. However in Windows, the device is seen as a disk drive not a scanner. Cannot use PDF programs to scan, only the included program built into the scanner. The software is fairly robust, but naming files and putting files in folders is cumbersome since it has limitations. It would be nice if the program was able to use the Windows "Save As" capability that is consistent with all other Windows programs.

Easy to hook up and easy to read instructions. Small and easy to carry around with me to use on the road. Packaging is great very simple to use.. I would definitely be a customer for life. Only thing that would make it better if it had a carrying case.

This was very simple to use--no set-up required. The document feeder works great and scans both sides of the document. So much easier than using the flat scanner on my printer. I am a case manager and see clients in their homes, and plan to bring this with me to scan paperwork when needed. It fits in my laptop bag.

This tiny scanner is very useful for scanning my bills, documents etc. The best part of I can directly connect the power cable to the usb output from my laptop and it work pretty well considering its size. The image quality is very good and easy to use, there is no need to install any software as when you connect it with laptop it prompt for the action to open the scanning software for you. The software part is also seamless and easy to use with multiple options. I tried scanning my license card but it did not go through it, so may be some soft cards you can scan with it. Overall loved this portable scanner.

I love this little machine! I have cut down on so much clutter around my office because of how simple this is to use. Push 1 button and easily scan anything. I use this to keep receipts and warranties on my computer. I have ditched pretty much every paper that comes into my house because I can just scan it. Super simple to use, even my 5 year old helps with scanning things. It is super tiny too. Makes up very little space and looks nice!

This little scanner surprised me it?s easy to hook up and scans documents with ease. The most I?ve attempted to scan at one time was 8 pages so I?m not to sure how it does with larger jobs but what I have thrown at the device it?s done very well. One major con I?d say with this device is how it opens up you almost feel like your going to drop it trying to open it.

Easy and effective for scanning documents in bulk. Generally better than a built-in scanner that comes with the printer. Its as simple as connecting it to your PC and it can scan different sizes of docs and output various formats as well.

I absolutely love the scanner. It was super easy to start all you have to do is plug it into the computer and scan away. Its that easy and then it folds up away make it portable take it anywhere you need to go. It scans everything with high quality output. Now my information is safely on my computer and easier to distribute if need be.

I have been very happy with this portable scanner. The set up was incredibly easy and I was able to scan right away. All the documents I scan look so much better than when I was using my phone and it is much easier. You can scan all types of things easily. It is very lightweight and easy to carry around. By far the best portable scanner I have ever used. Well made and durable.

Very happy with this scanner. I like how it is powered off the computer and doesn't need a separate power cable. I also like how it's just ready to go without going through a lot of steps to install software. For example, I had to email my sister a form- I was thinking it would take me 5 minutes to do- but I plugged in the scanner, scanned the 2-sided document in one pass- it went to my desktop, I then emailed it as an attachment- the whole process from grabbing the scanner, to hitting send, took maybe a minute. And the document was perfectly scanned! Not all wonky like taking a pic of both sides with a phone. So this thing is quick, easy, and just works well. Really happy with it!

This document scanner is easy to setup and use. You can scan anything from your standard document to as small as a photo identification card. You can save the scans in multiple formats. The one that I use is the pdf format. I use this document scanner to scan receipts for my business. Scanning them helps me keep track of them for tax purposes. I would recommend

The CanonUSA - imageFORMULA R10 Personal Document Scanner is a great portable scanner. Its so easy to use, just plug up to your computer through USB cable and that's it! Does not need any software installed and works for Apple or Windows products. Its not heavy at all so its easy to carry to work or school. It also has an additional slot to scan cards. The digital scans can show up in color or black and white. Definitely a must have for those looking for a scanner thats easy to use or portable or that doesn't take up much space.

I really liked the set up of this it was very plug and playish and didn?t take much to get up and running. It scanned the document quickly and the production was fairly clear. It was a big big for my taste so be sure you have the space for it if your considering buying it

My prior document scanner was the flatbread in my multi-use printer. When I decided to replace that printer with a small laser printer, I wanted something with a smaller footprint that the printer/copier. This scanner is small enough to put away in a drawer when it isn?t being used. It can easily plug and play, but the software to scan readable documents is a great addition.
