Great tripod. A little on the light end so make sure to weigh it down with your bag. The ball head included in this is single action, rendering the panning function useless, so I replaced it with a Benro IB0 head. Bottom line: buy this if you're willing to replace the ball head. It's fantastic!

Met the requirements I had. Folded size is as advertised. A little heavier than I thought, but is quite sturdy and does a god job with my Fuji equipment in a few days of tests.

This little gem would have five stars across the board from me, if only they had built in bubble levels that were visible with the camera mounted. It turns out it is a serious nuisance not to have that. I honestly did not think to ensure this tripod would have them, it seems like such a basic design element. At this price, I expected a little better case or sleeve as well. The one included is not easy to shoulder carry or attach to a backpack. All in all, it is very light weight and sturdy in the field when you put some weight on the counterbalance hook. It holds my Canon 6D MKIi with no worries. But I would choose a different model if I were to buy again. I just can’t recommend it, though maybe it will be perfect other folks.

My first carbon fiber tripod was 3LT, and I splurged and bought RRS BH-55 LR ballhead (which cost more than the tripod). It's a nice set-up, stable, but too heavy for travel. This Benro is only about 13" long when folded, and comes with a ballhead and a plate that attaches easily to the bottom of my light Fujifilm camera. Opening/deployment is easy and quick, like my 3LT, and folding it away is just as quick. This is sturdy enough for my requirements, and small and light enough for travel.

This is my first tripod so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but so far I am pleased with it’s performance. Tremendous adjustability which is taking some time to get used to. I do like how it folds up into a nice travel size bag. I like the ease of how the sole plate attaches to the camera and tripod.

Small Enough for Travel

My first carbon fiber tripod was 3LT, and I splurged and bought RRS BH-55 LR ballhead (which cost more than the tripod). It's a nice set-up, stable, but too heavy for travel. This Benro is only about 13" long when folded, and comes with a ballhead and a plate that attaches easily to the bottom of my light Fujifilm camera. Opening/deployment is easy and quick, like my 3LT, and folding it away is just as quick. This is sturdy enough for my requirements, and small and light enough for travel.
The Benro SLIM Series has been expanded and now includes two new models that are the perfect travel tripod. Each has 5 sections and the reverse folding design reduces the folded size to only 12.9" (33cm). But don't let its small size fool you, these tripods open to an impressive 57.1" (145cm) making them a practical solution for photographers who need to travel light but still need to travel with a tripod. There are two models of the SLIM Travel offering either Aluminum or Carbon Fiber construction. Aluminum gives strength but Carbon Fiber remains the ultimate material for lightness and stability.
The SLIM Travel tripod legs are fitted with anodized aluminum twist locks that only require a quick half turn to lock and unlock. A grooved center column prevents twisting when in use and can be reversed for low to the ground shots. Benro SLIM Travel features a lightweight shoulder, which has 3 leg positions and each leg can be positioned individually for uneven terrain. A weight hook is located underneath the center column for windy conditions and the rubber feet on the tripod are fixed. Staying level is made easy with a bubble level on the quick release clamp.
Both versions of the SLIM Travel series use the compact N00 head. This removable aluminum ball head has an oversized ratchet style single locking control knob for easy operation and a panoramic scale. The ball head includes a blue anodized aluminum Arca-Swiss style quick release plate with a D-ring 1/4"-20 thread. A compact carry case is included.
