A black box theater I can set up at home
I was looking for a portable "black box theater" for shooting singing videos and this is exactly what I wanted. I bought two, so.I have room to move, yet it's compact enough to fit in my dining room and is easy to set up and take down. I couldn't be happier.

I now own 4 V Flats but this is my first 2.0. I am 71 years old and just retired as a portfolio manager after 42 years. I have been shooting motorcycles, racing and the lifestyle for 30 years and am looking forward to shooting more now that I have much more time. I travel with two V Flats at minimum even if I am shooting outdoors. They are an essential part of my "kit" as backdrops for my "dark portraits" that I shoot in biker bars and as reflectors when needed for motorcycle "portraits" for magazine spreads. I also shoot the Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials for 20 years now on the Bonneville Salt Flats where I use V Flats for my personal shade as I stand in the middle of 60 square miles of Salt with zero shade 12 hours a day for 5 days. Seriouly though I am really in you debt for making these not just functional, and versatile but portable. Thanks so much for making my life easier and more productive. Scooter Grubb

I have worked with your V1's at other studios and to be honest thought they were trash. I purchased the V2's to fulfill a large rental request. The improvements are legit but the foam core is just so soft. These things just aren't built for commercial use. That said I know traditional V flats are fragile and you can't just toss them in your trunk. What I would like to see is a more durable board. One that can take a little abuse, maybe a material that can be wiped clean. The product served it's purpose but I see room for improvement.

Well improved with version two. The magnetic edges are a game changer. Still compact and mobile to use anywhere. The 2 sided black/white offers so many uses.

Nice upgrade from the original model. The magnetic closure is FAR superior to the original velcro fasteners. My old V Flat has seen some miles! My new V Flat did arrive with some surface damage to the foam board despite being well packaged. While this will not have any bearing on the usefulness of the V Flat I was somewhat disappointed to already have visible damage to the foam board. No way of knowing if the damage originated before packing or during transit. Despite all of that - I highly recommend this product to any photographer or videographer. While the same results can be achieved using other (and cheaper) materials, the convenience and consistency of the results you'll get using a V Flat are hard to beat. No need for a lighting assistant when you have this tool in your toolbox.

I started out with the V-Flat original but found the velcro was always coming apart at the worst times during the shoot. The Version 2 stays put and I am able to concentrate on all the other aspects of the shoot.

The product is fine, the shipping process is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The first time the v-flat arrived, it had a small dent in the center on the white side. I contacted customer support and was promptly sent a new one. I took it out of the packaging and I found more dents on the white side. It wasn't as substantial as the first one and it was mostly relegated to the side of the board so I kept it.

I gave it 5 stars. Honestly, the build of the flats I feel like could still be improved upon. I mean they're great, but there's still room for improvement in a few areas. But the reason I gave them 5 stars is because my shipment arrived slightly damaged. I reached out to the company and they replaced my damaged shipment immediately. Their customers service was amazing. They really took great care of me and made sure that I got what I paid for. I can't thank them enough for their understanding and their really quick attention to my problem. I would 100% recommend this company to anyone.

I like the idea of this product, but upon receiving it I quickly felt it was overpriced. It does not feel very solid when folded out all the way. I would have been better off buying foam core and gaff taping it together. Also, the carry bag is junk. The fabric is so thin you can see through it and it does not even close. Open on the top side and flops open. This bag will hardly keep the product clean or protected.
