Unfortunately, this smartshell did not fit my 10 year old 15" mac book pro. It also was not as sturdy as the one I purchased about 10 years ago. It had a break in the plastic. I ended up duct taping it. I will be returning this product.

I've had shells before that crack quickly (and that's without dropping the laptop!). Speck SmartShell is amazing quality, secure, and still thin enough to keep my laptop from feeling bulky. The color is awesome! I have the same Speck case on my work laptop and I had to ask our IT guy what style case we use because I needed it for my personal one. So happy with this purchase!

I really enjoy the slim fit of the case. It doesn't add too much bulk but at the same time offers protection. I also love the finish of the material itself (nice matte texture). I only have a few complaints with the product. First, the clear option isn't actually clear. It's more of a frosted, matte clear. While I actually don't mind the look of it with my space grey Mac, it was not what I had intended on purchasing. There are also some minor areas where the case does not clip to the Mac all the way, but I think it is a manufacturing issue instead of a design issue. It is barely noticeable and I do not think it compromises the case in anyway. It still seems like a sturdy fit and I don't believe it will fall off.

Looks great on my MacBook Pro, like the color and was easy to put on. Unfortunately having it on prevents the use of a Hyper Drive that connects with 2 C USB connectors. The alternate would be to take off the bottom portion to use it, but that is a pain. I download photos from a memory card frequently and the inability to use the Hyper Drive to do that is very disappointing. Think I'll go back to using the other cover.

Not as slim as I wanted it to be. Adds quite a bit of weight to the laptop and overall makes it look very clunky. I'd hard pass on this and look for a different case.

I love my smartshell Mac Book Pro case!!! I tried other cases and had to return all of them because the size was wrong. Even though I ordered cases that advertised they were for this laptop there is a variance in the actual size. Speck was the only company that provided accurate measurements for my MacBook Pro. It fit like a glove, looks fantastic and I know my computer will be well protected. I can't thank you enough!!!

I tried many times to like this case, this is my second one and I don't think i have even had it for a year and theres a piece missing off the bottom and the top is all cracked. I take very well care of my laptop as it is expensive. I have never dropped the laptop in the case and rarely ever take the case off of my laptop.

I recently replaced my 13" MacBook Pro with the 15" model. I had a case for the old one but nothing as nice as my pretty blue Speck case. Easy to use and beautiful to behold.

This is my second Smart Shell Case since buying my laptop before my freshman year of college and I swear by it! It is such a reliable case that holds up so well and I always know that my laptop is protected with this case on it. I almost exclusively use Speck cases for all of my apple products and will continue to do so. The only reason I got a new one is because I was bored with my old, bright colored one and had been wanting a clear laptop case for a while.

I bought a hard shell case w my Mac book upon purchase and it quickly started chipping away. This case is a lot thicker, so far it has held up very well. It fits the Mac book with no issues.

This case is basically not worth the money. I have used speck for many years on my iPhone and iPad but this MacBook case is not the same quality and protection. The shell doe not sit well into the case so the laptop does not close well. I have had the case for less than a year and it is already cracked along both sides where the cables connect due to not seating well into the case. I do not recommend this case

The product looks very sleak an durable. Although when I entered the serial number on my old spek product that was nearly destroyed from protecting my equipment I was sent this one. An it doesn't even fit the laptop. Really disappointing opening gift on Christmas day to find out I was sent the wrong one. I might have gotten the correct one. I guess the search needs to be revised cuz old serial number items are not matching to the new stuff.

the case is alright. every time i open my laptop a corner will pop off and i'll have to pop it back on, and the bottom piece doesn't fit snug at all. but on the plus side, it doesn't really smudge or scratch at all, and the color is pretty! more pink than red in person.

I have bought several Speck cases for the MacBook Pro Retina (2012) and the MacBook Pro Retina with Touchbar computers. They are great, and considering how much a computer costs, the investment is worth it. Sometimes the cases chip, in particular the back corners of the bottom shell, but this happens more for the MacBook Pros from 2012 and less with the MacBooks Pros from 2016 and later. But every time I have felt that the Speck case was damaged, I have taken a photo, emailed Speck, and they ship me a replacement, for free, no questions asked. Get smart and use these cases to protect your Mac.
