Surprisingly good right out of the box. Pots are small, but 250K vs normal 500K on these lower end Teles - that was a surprise. Overall setup was good and minor fret setting to smooth out edges, but not really necessary. All in all, a solid guitar with a solid sound & sustain, especially for this price. I would highly recommend this as a starter or even intermediate entry point. You want a try out a Tele but don’t want to shell out a lot of money? This is your guitar - stop thinking and buy it!

this guitar is absolutely awesome!!!!! it seems like I underpaid! once I got it, I kind of felt guilty paying so little for it......it has a clear sound, and feels very comfortable. I have a fender strat, but have been using this new baby exclusively, of late. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone!! it makes for great playing!!!

Squier brings you a brand-nu signature model in the crushing form of the Squier Jim Root Telecaster. Designed in cooperation with the acclaimed Slipknot/Stone Sour guitarist, it boasts several foreboding features, most notably a satin-matte finish in black or white, starkly simple single-knob/single switch control layout, black die-cast tuners and other black hardware and two pulverizing passive humbucking pickups with black covers.
Other features include a mahogany body, modern C-shaped maple neck with satin matte finish, 12"-radius rosewood Fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets and parchment dot inlays, three-way pickup switch with black tip, single-ply pickguard (black on white body; white on black body), black numbered volume knob and strings-through-body six-saddle hard-tail bridge.
