Simple and Mostly Effective

The sun shade really helps. Even with the brightness of the screen there are times when depending on the angle, the sun or a light source will cause glares and the sunshade takes care of a lot of those situations. The cage itself is great quality and it’s easy to install. However, if its one job is to protect the monitor, they could’ve covered it a bit better. A lot of the plastic of the monitor itself is still exposed. Though, your monitor will still be much safer with the cage than without it.

SmallRig Monitor Cage for Blackmagic Video Assist 7" 1830 is a Monitor cage which can fit your Blackmagic Video Assist monitor well with two 1/4"-20 threads on the bottom. The top NATO rail can attach the NATO handle, and the side rail for EVF mount attaching with small camera. It comes with many 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 thread points for accessories.

Combination easy plate 1598 and the battery mounting plate 1530, you can mount battery for power supply. Besides, it includes a lock HDMI protector 1693 to protect the HDMI cable. Also, you can purchase SMALLRIG 7 Inch Sun Hood 1840 to protect your monitor from direct Light & sun.

SmallRig Lock HDMI Protector for Cinema Camera 1693 is a universal HDMI clamp for various camera cages. It protects your wireless HDMI transmitter connections from being bumped or broken. The HDMI clamp could be adjusted and fitted for different HDMI cable. It attaches to a cage securely using a 1/4"-20 screw to a cage.
