Simple and Mostly Effective

The sun shade really helps. Even with the brightness of the screen there are times when depending on the angle, the sun or a light source will cause glares and the sunshade takes care of a lot of those situations. The cage itself is great quality and it’s easy to install. However, if its one job is to protect the monitor, they could’ve covered it a bit better. A lot of the plastic of the monitor itself is still exposed. Though, your monitor will still be much safer with the cage than without it.

SmallRig Monitor Cage with Sunhood for SmallHD 502 Bright Monitor 2231 is designed to provide SmallHD 502 Bright monitor with an all-around protection and mounting options. The form-fitted monitor cage is fixed on the cage via two 1/4"-20 threaded holes on the back and side. It features a nato rail on each side and bottom for accessories with nato clamp to make your setup quick release, such as Magic Arm 2071.

The cage provides multiple 1/4"-20, 3/8"-16 and arri 3/8" holes for accessory attachment. Dedicated sunhood provides glare protection when shooting outdoors. A HDMI cable clamp protects HDMI port and optional cable clamp 1693 is able to protect the SDI port. Additionally, rod clamp 1254 can be attached to the bottom with a short rod allowing to make your monitor
