Well built and convenient

Like everything I've purchased from SmallRig this cage is well built and nicely finished. Numerous 1/4"-20 threaded holes along the top, bottom, and both sides of the cage allow for many mounting options. It has a NATO rail on the bottom for a quick release mount. That being said, unlike my SmallRig 2249 cage, the 2233 leaves a lot of the monitor exposed. The two mounting points to the monitor don't quite hold it rigidly within the cage. And while others have reported that the cage will fit a Feelworld 279 or 279S, I would say just barely. In fact it's just a fraction too small, so while you can make it work (loosen everything up, fit the monitor in the cage, then squeeze it all back together by tightening the screws) it's not exactly a match made in heaven. I imagine it has sufficient clearance with the listed monitors that it doesn't require partial disassembly to fit. That being said, it does offer protection for the monitor and definitely allows a lot more flexibility in mounting, just not up to the level of some of their other products.

About SmallRig 2233

SmallRig Monitor Cage 2233 is specially designed for Feelworld T7, 703, 703S , MA7, MA7S and F7S Monitor to provide an all-around protection and mounting options. Monitor can be firmly fixed on the aluminum cage via multiple lock points on the top, bottom and back, which prevents twisting. The cage provides multiple 1/4"-20 holes on the top and bottom for attaching magic arm and EVF mount, such as 2070 and 2113.

Besides, the monitor cage can attach side handles 2093 on both sides via 1/4"-20 holes for a comfortable handle support. It features a nato rail on the bottom for accessories with nato clamp to make your setup quick release, such as nato clamp 2205. Additionally, strap holes on the top are designed to attach neck strap for providing convenience to carry.
