The 'back-to-the-90s' look refers to a distinctive aesthetic achieved by the Radiant Black Filters. According to Matthias Bolliger, the colored 'sparkles' in the filter glass subtly influence black levels and overall contrast, creating an analog film look reminiscent of the 90s.
The Radiant Black Filter is available in five different strengths: 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, and 2. These options allow for customization based on the specific needs of your shoot.
A diffusion filter is used to soften the image, reduce contrast, and create a 'glow' or 'halo' around highlights. It's often used in portrait photography to enhance skin tones and create a dreamy, slightly blurred effect.

After being the first DoP to shoot a feature film with the Radiant Black Filters, Matthias Bolliger, well-known DoP & Coach, about the Radiant Black Filters: "Schneider-Kreuznach's new Radiant Black glass filters are soft-focus filters that use colored "sparkles" in the filter glass to create an analog film look while subtly influencing black levels and overall contrast. Combined with ISCOsphericals and their vintage coating, they defined our "back-to-the-90s" look and visually transformed the adaptation of the novel "A Man of His Class".
