i previously owned a fitbit but when it suddenly stopped working within a year and a half of owning it. then having a not so nice time with customer service i decided it wasd time for a change. i purchased the active watch because of the sleek design and because i have a samsung phone. i find after wearing it for a 12hour shift the battery is significantly low and needs to be charged if i need it that next night for work. also you have to wear it too tight in order for it to read anything. i also get more notifications about being disconnected than anything. not what i expected but it will do for the need if it.

In the beginning it was great. A week before the warranty ended, the GPS and heart rate monitor malfunctioned. I sent it in for repair and it came back even worse. I sent it in a second time and they sent the same one with a new GPS module. It worked great for 3 months and now its garbage. I am very active and the name of the watch should not be called "Active". If you want a long term watch, this is not the one for you.

being a former fitbit user, i can say that galaxy is so much better. no connection issues, no sync issues and i barely had to do any setup. the active automatically connected to my phone and basically set itself up. i will be a long time galaxy user.

i bought this watch a week or so ago. i like everything about it except i was under the impression that i could answer calls on my watch as long as my galaxy note 10 plus was within range. i have called samsung and have gone to verizon store and it still does not work.

i had another fitness tracker. and it was always off on the steps. my samsung is right on. i love that you can reply to text messages. i couldn't do that with my old one. i love my samsung active watch.

i'm writing this review based off the fact that i've now had to send the watch back two times within 6 months of owning it. the first issue was due to the fact that the battery wouldn't hold a charge. the second and most recent issue is that: 1. the blue tooth won't hold a connection to my headphones (i used three diff headphones) 2. the watch is super sluggish when playing music and then attempting to use the running app. 3. not only that, when the watch is playing music and i'm trying to use the running app, it closes the running app and goes back to the main screen. 4. battery life is still bad, i can't get more than 1.5 days out of it using it as nothing more than a watch. this is without even using any of the music or exercise apps.

this was a gift. i have a samsung galaxy and my spouse has an iphone and iwatch. he decided i might like a smart watch for my phone too. it vibrates to notify me i have a message or call. i can read texts and send simple text. it tracks exercise and can check the heart rate and "stress" level. i cannot have a conversation. if i have a phone call the watch vibrates. i have to grab my phone before voicemail or person hangs up because i cannot hear or talk by the watch. my husband's iphone does allow calls. i do actually use the second hand at work but after a few seconds the watch goes into a screen saver mode and the second hand disappears which is no good for my work.

i'm new to smart watches and i would've liked if there were more details of what the watch can do and how to do them. there wasn't a booklet or anything so i watched multiple videos i found on how to use most of the functions. the watch isn't heavy on the wrist which i like and i like to use it to check my heart rate, steps, etc. still feel like there's a bit more i can learn how to use but overall i love it so far.

after less than a years use of the watch, it got stuck in a reboot mode and wouldn’t turn on or off. after getting it checked, i found out that too much water got in the watch. for a fitness watch that is water resistant and has a water lock mode, i was pretty confused on how this happened. i do swim with the watch on, however, i always have waterlock mode. very disappointed that the watch broke because i really liked the watch itself. i think it worked well and i liked the features before it broke.

bought the device new 16 months ago. it worked well enough but was seriously missing some ui features and apps that i thought would be standard. no stopwatch or timer as main widgets? but real problem is this week screen just went black. watch still talked to phone. after hours trying to fix it, cs tells me i would have to send it in for repairs (estimate $118 up front). i would not recommend this watch.

i purchased the watch in june of 2019 and now the back of the watch has come off from the glue or adhesive. so, because the watch is past warranty i would have to pay for something i did nor break. the watch is not well made since it is broke after a year. i paid almost $300 for this terrible product. i will not purchase another samsung watch. x2

this is the first smartwatch that i have purchased. i wanted a watch that not only tracked fitness but was versatile with other functions, such as notifications. after reviewing other manufactures, including samsung, i felt that this watch gave me the best of what i wanted in a smart watch. as advertised it is durable, made of aluminum instead of plastic. the crystal is glass and scratch resistant, although i plan on purchasing a screen protector as added protection. set up with samsung phone and samsung wearable app was quick.. my only concern is the battery life at up to three days. i have found that turning off the watch at bedtime gives a little more battery life. overall i am satisfied with this watch.

coming from a fitbit, the active is much more "watch" looking and has more connectivity features to access my phone with. from controlling my music playback to the customized text replies, the ability to dismiss alarms from the device and the "do not disturb" syncing, i'm finding i really enjoy using the active. i did replace the silicone band with a metal link band and added a bumper guard cover, but it's still a good size for my wrist. unfortunately, the battery life is dismal. being used to 6-7 days on my fitbit charge 3, i'm lucky if i get two full days per charge on the active. i also wish i could access some of the data (like sleep data) through the galaxy wearables ap on my phone. it'd be nice to see my trends on a larger screen.

i have the same issues as many others. very poor batter life (12 hrs. max) steps, stairs not even close in accuracy. sleep tracking works sometime, sometime not. pulse, stress are about theonly things that work. batter is now completely dead and will no longer charge. costs $70 to replace it. absolutely not worth it! i'm tired of samsung products and have been a loyal customer for many years, no more. i might as well buy cheap crap for less money that will last just as long.

i've used this watch for months to track my walking/running and swimming. at first, it was terrible at tracking swim laps but that seems to have improved, though it still sometimes ends a lap in the middle of me swimming one. now, however, the feature i use the most (tracking my walking and running) is completely unreliable. it reports that it loses my heart rate about 5 minutes after i start every time i use it, and it picks it up somewhere around 5 minutes before i finish, no matter how far i've walked or ran, and reports my heart rate around 220 bpm for 5 to 10 minutes (that's a medical emergency). i've been thinking about upgrading to the active 2 or whatever the newest model is, but now i'm thinking maybe just steer clear of samsung "smart" watches for fitness tracking.

i switched to samsung from fitbit hoping that a watch specifically designed to work with my samsung phone would be an advantage. unfortunately, the watch itself starts at 100% at 545 am every morning. by 8pm it is between 10 to 20%. it vibrates randomly with no notifications. it loses heart rate frequently during various exercise sessions.

i wish a smaller face size was available. 40mm is a little big for my liking but that is just my preference. the only negative is the battery life. it needs to be charged every day and a half to 2 days. devices i've had in the past have usually lasted twice as long on a charge.

today i woke up and found that the rear glass plate of my galaxy watch active came off exposing the internals of the watch. i'm very careful with my devices, i never washed my hands with the watch on it. i'm extremely disappointed because the warranty has expired recently.

bought this watch because it is the best looking one on the market. it broke after two weeks of receiving it. it is advertised as water resistant but stopped working when i got caught in a light rain while wearing it. sent it in to be fixed under warranty but the warranty doesn’t cover liquid damage so they tried to charge me $155 to repair. i can’t wear my watch in the rain?? insane. customer service said there was nothing else they could do. terrible product. do not recommend.

i absolutely love my samsung watch! i recently began working out and it tracks my fitness journey. i also enjoy the get active notices. i work at a desk so this triggers me to get up and move throughout the day!
It's just right in a small package

i was looking for a smaller health tracker to use with android, and the active checked all the boxes. hr and sleep tracking were important to me as well as water resistance and gps.
