Failed with no Warning

The good news is that the drive came with a 5 year warranty. The bad news is it only made it 2 years before failing with no warning what so ever. Data recovery efforts yielded nothing. While it worked, it was fast and woke the computer way up and I was satisifed, right up until it failed. Currently working through the warranty process and am patiently waiting for the remedy.

Outstanding speed and durability

the 860 evo 500gb mz-76e500b/am has served me well for more than three years. samsung's reputation of durability and speed with their ssds holds true for this consumer review. i'm thoroughly pleased and satisfied with this product. five of five stars. it hasn't been quirky a single time. you would expect it not to be quirky. it is solid state, after all. and what about the design of the product? like that holds any relevance whatsoever for most folks? i'd consider it to be minimal, simple and "sexy" as far as computer products go. xd lol it's subtly textured, i believe, like a bit of grain on it or something. what's with the gray blip square in the bottom center? ahahaha. funky.

my !tb ssd 860 evo became unavailable after 13 months. now i wait for a "used" ssd replacement for my failed one that will have a 90 day warranty ad i loose two (2) years of warranty because it failed. i bought two at of these and the other started to slow down in response so i replaced it with a different ssd but will return it to service and wait for it to die completely. i have stopped trusting samsung for my ssd and memory in general. for what it is worth i have five ssd's in service and have had no trouble with other brand. yet!

Great laptop update

I replaced a really slow HDD in my Toshiba laptop with the 500Gb SSD, and it was so simple. Samsung's Data Migration s/w made the cloning process so easy. Instead of minutes to awaken from hibernation, it is now only seconds. I was so impressed I upgraded my brother-in-law's laptop (also with a very slow and old HDD) with with a second 860 EVO 500Gb SSD, with very similar pleasing results. I also really appreciate having the Magician monitoring s/w too.

To make my system last a little longer and make it faster. this was easy once I went to Samsung's site and down loaded the software to clone my c drive to the Samsung SSD it was flawless. works great so far. The only thing I did not like was information supplied with the SSD. so I called the number supplied with the info and I was given the information I needed to do what I wanted to do, good American voice I could understand on the phone.
