my samsung galaxy watch worked well for a couple of years. all of a sudden it keeps thinking that im swimming, several times per day. this is a hardware issue that needs out-of-pocket money to make the repair. it is not covered under the warranty because my warranty has expired. i have never used this watch while swimming any deeper than 5 ft in a pool. i have no idea why it keeps thinking i'm swimming but this is going to cost me money and that is the reason for the poor review.

i purchased this watch march 2020. the battery normally lasts at least a couple of days, but recently it only lasts very few hours. i don't know what has happened, i haven't changed anything about how i wear it and i've done factory reset and nothing seems to work. my warranty expires next month and i can't seem to contact samsung. i have several samsung products but i will not be purchasing another one of their watches.

Extreme battery drain

i love the watch , but not really meant for everyday life ( working on car) . now if you had a case like casio g-shock you would have the perfect watch .

so far i have been enjoying the galaxy watch. the connection between my s21 and watch has been seamless and i can leave the phone on the table and get everything via the watch

the only issue id smartthings can not be install, tech support can't get it installed either. this is not a big deal but if you advertise something you should really make sure it works. this is from the samsung web page about the galaxy watch

Love the Watch

first, i bought my watch on amazon, renewed, for about half the price due to being used. secondly, the battery life is no where near what the claims are. i use mine for easy viewing on the health app and basically to see what time it is and what i have coming up for work. i do not enjoy how hard it is to stream music, i am not a spotify user. i cant use pandora, amazon, youtube. basically you have to stream from your phone and the purpose of the watch for me was to be less tethered to my phone. now i love the look and what i can do with the watch. yes i can switch to the data version and get more out of it but i do not use it enough away from my phone to justify the spend. i wish the apps supported more face options that were hybrid style so the clock face with steps and calendar

i like most of the features the watch offers although they are limited as i am pairing to an iphone. i would have liked the app follow by dexcom to work a little better than it does (similar to my amazon app, other notices) - knowing the actual bg number would be helpful.

i love the bezel option to change to different apps quickly. it's really fluid.

Convenient

i bought this watch and at first i loved it. it was picking up my workouts and everything else just fine but recently it does not pick up every workout. i have turned off a lot of the preinstalled apps and notifications are only on for a few apps. but the battery life definitely is not a couple days, even with a simple watch screen on. a little disappointed in that aspect but overall it does do a lot more than my galaxy fit.

It is a good watch!

as with all my samsung products great, quality. looks great and convenient. many useful apps. love changeable design faces. i love my samsung phone, tablet, watch. like how they all sync and work together well. only draw back if someone hacks your phone they also can access tablet ,watch anything that joins them . found out the hard way

from beginning i had problem with gps frozen and not record my run properly . beacouse i like watch i buy another one lte this time and had same issue . do not buy it if you wanna use it as gps watch!!

Overall it's OK but GPS in it suck

i own a huawei phone. the watch was supposed to be compatible. within the first week, it stopped connecting to the app and because useless.

i've owned every samsung galaxy note and samsung galaxy watch. i totally gave up on the watches and went to the fitbit. then i saw this watch at such a price i couldn't resist. it was so nice and worked so well. i really love samson and they do well when they do well hahaha this an older version, older chip and yet it's still to this day functions just as you want it to. if you're new to samson i would definitely recommend this watch it does everything you need as a smartwatch and more. very happy with it. i gave her four stars because the battery life is 2 to 3 days at best. i can live with that question is can you? in my office i have on the shelf every make and model...all broken and failed miserably. this one is standing up to the test of time.

Samson from the beginning

im use to an apple watch but i like the looks of the samsung watch. its pretty good with exception of the heart rate monitoring. occassionally it will go off the rails and tell me my heart rate is over 115 when in fact it’s at 74. the apple watch seems to be more accurate and consistant. overall its a nice watch with pretty good functionality.

i really like the looks of the watch.
samsung apps are like google and apple's hillbilly cousin. i so wish it wasn't. i so want to use an alternate product. i have a note 8 to pair with the watch.
if you are going to make your own os "tizen" go big or go home.
 hate "bixby", this app detracts and frustrates users. 
"samsung pay" doesn't always work.
"spotify" doesn't always work.
"find my phone" is being deleted.
no gps navigating app.
your web site says "your watch, your choice", but it really is not. you should give users the option to use google apps

Mixed Results

i bought this watch for the features and they are great. the manufacturer warranty is horrible. the reason i say this is the watch after 6months stop connecting with alerts and notifications. after troubleshooting with samsung they deemed it water damaged. a over $300 repair bill. may have splashed the watch with water not intentionally. even tho its water resistant and has a water ejection feature on the watch. so i bought another watch. and the this time i made a point not to get the watch wet or take it off if i remotely was near water. only for the same thing to happen with the cover that is held on with some cheap, inferior gel. this is cheaping out on quality as much as this watch costs. i will never buy this watch ever.

Not a good deal

i use mine as an alert in case i fall. i was having a problem, so i called and was treated very well. i sent my watch back and it was returned in a very short time. i am very satisfied with customer service as well as the product. i also have a samsung smart phone the i really love.

Lifesaver

i got this watch near the time when it first came out, and proud to still be using it in 2021. i need to praise samsung for not only making a watch with excellent build quality, but also for continually updating it to improve the heart rate reliability and making bixby somewhat usable. i really count on manufacturers to support their products..

unfortunately bixby is next to useless on this watch, when it’s faster and more reliable to just pull out my phone and ask a question there. bixby needs to be faster, and it needs to work at least 80% of the time (just in recognition and execution at least). please samsung, make bixby faster and more reliable.

otherwise, this still an excellent option in 2021 for anyone who has a samsung phone.

Excellent Watch, Terrible Voice Assistant

bought this watch as a replacement to a fitbit due to there issues, this watch looks and feels superior however its performance lacks significantly when used for excersise recording. with following the prompts the heart rate monitor is very spotty and the excersise log not very useful for general excersise. the watch does have alot of features which are neat which also probably contributes to its lack of battery life. as a firefighter i need my watch to maintain a charge for 24-48 hours until i get home to recharge it. under normal use i would say it lasts 18-26 hours. overall a very expensive watch as it does not work well for much else.

the watch could be a little lighter . battery power really is not great needing charge on avg 2.5 days. i wish there wasa a easier way to select which devices alerted on the phone. 

dial is easy to read certainly lots of screen choices.

S3 Watch

this watch is great but don’t get the rose gold finish. the finish does not last long enough to justify this purchase. this is my second samsung watch and i am back to wearing my old one. don’t do it. loads of customer complaints. i do not wear perfume and am very careful with it yet the discolartion is awful.

Watch is great BUT...

good watch, heavy. you can certainly tell you have a watch on. purchased the rose gold and within 2 years, the watch did not keep the rose gold color. watch has never been submerged in water. i would not recommend purchasing based on color preference. for the price of this watch, discoloration of the watch should not be acceptable.
lot of apps i am not able to find that would be helpful.

Good watch, expensive for the quality

i've had this watch for some time now and it goes to emergency calls only when my phone is not around. i've spent several hours with verizon and samsung with no successful answers!!

Not acceptable service

latest samsung watch was bought to replace my aging fitbot ionic that is now many years old. there is almost nothing about this watch that is really all that new. after the amount of time in development, i expected something more i guess. it has a microphone and 1 extra sensor. other than that, its not even faster or thinner really anything worth noting. just a different interface with features that are boringly common nowadays and just plain 'meh'. i'll probly return it. i'm still hiding out for an ionic 2.

Best Gift Ever

this thing simplifies the idea of losing weight. now i can just loop the neighborhood until the watch says i'm good instead of walking in place on a noisy treadmill in an otherwise empty room. i also like reading the news on it sometimes.

i do think a few customization options would be nice, such as having the option to turn off the scrolling effect in the gallery.

also, i like to put gifs on the watch, but the gifs that are suppose to play once and then stop keep looping.

Neat device; Just a few requests, though.

I bought the watch 2 months ago. I only have one issue with it. I would assume Yahoo Music would be an App option for Music since it is the Google/Android recommended item, but it only offers Spotify. In general Spotify is one of the best streaming apps on the market, but doesn't offer personal music storage like Yahoo Music. So the only way to get my personal music to my watch is manually upload it. I will say the watch easily holds 300 songs which is impressive. And all of the other features in watch deliver as expected or better.

Great watch with one thing missing

If you plan to use this watch while doing laps in the pool, don't buy this. Even though the watch is rated 5 atm (50m water proof), I went swimming in a pool less than 5 meters deep and the watch is now toast.

Beware - Swimming causes water damage

I love my watch, this is my second ......my 1st still works..but I wanted to upgrade...

galaxy watch

works great, i love the rotating bezel. likely will never buy a smart watch without one. could use more apps, and would appreciate a native audible app, but that is not on samsung to make. apps made by samsung are great, and it has everything needed.
