the bad reviews about the monitor crapping out early in its life are true! starts with screen flickering then rainbow streaks of color across the monitor before it's totally unusable. samsung technical support is no help at all. i called them to complain that such an expensive monitor should act according to the desired use and all they say is that the monitor is outside the one year warranty. therefore you're buying a 700 monitor that they only warrant to work properly for one year. don't do it!! only thing samsung will offer is to diagnose and try to fix at your cost (starting at 150) and they don't guarantee they'll resolve the problem if you incur the expense. plus you have to ship yourself.

i believe i have had this monitor for about 4 years now and it is still working very well. the colors are still bright, the edges are clean (no burns or bleeds), and no other deformities or weird bright spots. i definitely prefer a large widescreen rather than several monitors. i do use a second monitor in portrait mode for viewing web pages any other non essential applications. overall, it has been a great monitor to have!

4 year check-in. i have been using this monitor 8-12 hours a day working from home, up from 12-16 hours a week. no dead pixels. day 1 color, contrast, image quality. my only new issue is that the speakers sometimes don't work when games are in full screen mode, but they still work in windowed full screen and every other situation. freesync implementation is not the best, but i don't see any noticeable tearing even when its disabled. if you are reading this review in 2020/2021, you are probably looking at a used or heavily discounted cf791. as long as there are no dead pixels, i would say go for it. it's great for gaming and working from home and the aggressive 1500r curve is perfect.

The monitor is not working properly after 4 years. Periodic dark patch on the left portion of the screen. I read people have the same issue with 34” CF791. Flat-Rate Service fee for 34” Monitors: $150 plus my shipping to Samsung. What if they could not reproduce the issue (please see reviews below)?

Bought it on release because it was marketed as a freesync monitor. Turns out it doesn't support free sync after AMD made driver updates last year. I cannot recomend this monitor any more.

I bought this for an all around display-I didnt want to go 4K, but wanted more than 2K aka 2560x1440. I stepped up from a 27" 60hz 2560x1440 (2K to this guy, so when gaming its definitely smoother (especially since Nvidia recently changed their drivers from only syncing with Gsync monitors, now my GTX 1070 will sync to this display through Freesync) Colors are good especially if you you want a good Looking display, my old 2K IPS spec's on paper match this display but the old 2K has Slightly more accurate color. But considering the amount of curve on this display I didn't plan to use it for a lot of photo editing anyway. So again for an all around display, I have no complaints, it did arrive with one dead pixel but I kept it and its worked great, I love it.

I bought this monitor on September 29, 2018. On June 26, 2019 it developed a column of dead pixels on the left side of the screen, and the bottom-right corner has started flickering. Before the blue line, the screen has been beautiful, something I've bragged about to my friends and family, and the ultra-wide form factor and picture-by-picture have done wonders for my workflow. Changing inputs, especially changing the the picture-by-picture settings is slow, and requires navigating through multiple levels of menus. Before the flickering and dead pixels, I thought this would be the only downside.

Not working after one year, and services fixes. Dark patch on my left portion of the screen, I don't expect this quality and reliability issues just within year. I returned for fix for the first time, they fixed with some replacement parts. Again repeated the same issue, I returned it for service, unfortunately they didn't able to reproduce the issue, they returned saying no issues. I thought it was temporary. After thee months, exactly after one year of purchase, displaying with dark patch. I am not sure what to do with this monitor. I felt this was great at the purchase, now It found to be defective. I don't recommend this product to any one. sorry to say this, this is truth. I have another different Samsung monitor working fine without any issue.

The pros: The ultrawide screen is very nice. The 1500R curve is awesome, and the colors/contrast are really nice and popping. I really enjoy it in every day usage. The cons: QLED isn't ready. We had the opportunity to try 4 of these screens, and they all have the same type of artifacts, although on some, it's really bad and on others it's hardly noticeable: Some colors display with horizontal patterns, where every other row will be slightly lighter/darker in a zebra pattern. The freesync implementation is lacking, and even the OSD warns for flickering, which it unfortunately does. Some gray pixel patterns make the monitor go SLIGHTLY darker sometimes. When the monitor is completely black, some deviations in the gray levels can be seen. We've returned one monitor that was really bad, and got it replaced with one that was acceptable, but they all showed these artifacts. Overall: I'm very happy with this monitor in every day usage. As long as I don't use freesync on "ultimate" mode, the other problems are not a big deal. But the screens have issues that they shouldn't have. There is just no 2 ways about it.

I bought this monitor as a replacement for a split between a laptop monitor and a separate external monitor. I meant to use it mainly for productivity so I could resize, stack, or tile windows however I wished. This monitor WILL NOT allow for that. Windows can either be maximized or minimized, but no custom size by dragging it to a desired dimension.

Bought this for 800€ about a year ag now and i both love and hate this display. The picture quality is excellent, it comes calibrated out of the box which is a nice plus. The 1500R curvature is very immersive and black levels are top quality. For the first half-year or so the only complaint is the stand (or actually the pivot mechanism) which is very "wobbly" with a gap of maybe 5°. I had it paired with a Nvidia card until this summer, and that was when I started to realize its real flaw. I got a more powerful AMD card (GTX980 --> Vega56) to take advantage of Freesync, but the implementation is really poor. Even with standard engine (80-100Hz) i get a lot of flicker, which is extremely annoying. Ultimate engine (48-100Hz) is completely unusable due to severe flickering. I´m not the only one with this issue as many reports about this problem can be found on various forums but Samsung seems to ignore this issue. I´ve tried every possible update, reinstall etc but Freesync is almost unusable on this monitor which is very bad for a display that costs $800.

It's big and beautiful. I play games, do school work, watch tv/movies a little and it's just amazing. I'm a huge geek and love technology. Going from 1080 to 2k made my old video card subpar. I'm waiting for new 1100s to come out from Nvidia. I don't notice any ghosting. The refresh rate is great. Color/backlight is all amazing. The speakers are good for built in monitor speakers. If I had to complain about something I'd say the USB 3.0 cable for the hub is a tad short. I have my PC on the floor under my desk and it doesn't quite reach the monitor... but this is minor. I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind spending money on high quality tech.

PRO: Nice image quality beautiful design CON; The monitor only has 1 DP rest of them are HDMI. Black screen on DP with free sync Flicker screen on HDMI with free sync These are the known issues related to this product. If you want to use this for gaming, please search online for CF791 free sync issues before you make the decision.

Sitting in front of monitors for the last 15 years, the CF791 takes that experience to an entirely new level. I was blown away. The quality, brightness, coloring, design, VERSA compatible adapter...I just can't say enough about how cool this thing is. Whenever anyone walks into my office and see's it, they can't help but stare at it. Thank you Samsung! Excellent product!

Main use for me is sim racing on a PC and occasional web browsing. I previously owned a 2560 x 1080 34" and have tested and/or used several other 21:9 and 16:9 monitors. I bought this locally thinking it would not be much different than my 34" 2560 screen and I would end up returning it but I was wrong. This monitor has superior colors, clarity, and response time. I highly recommend it . The speakers are great for in screen type. Also note that the monitor comes with a Vesa mount which replaces the stand and it works fine.

The monitor is huge and has a very great color to it the silver doesn't stand out at all. For the price you would think Samsung would of done something with the huge base like a Qi charger or a nice light up logo. As for the panel it is awesome. the colors pop and the blacks are well black like they should be. The refresh rate was at 100hz like the monitor said it would be.Any one looking for a good ultra wide monitor should not pass this one by. The cables that come with this thing are white and think they look really nice.

This is by far the nicest computer monitor I have ever owned. When I pay a premium for a name brand product, I expect the very highest quality. I was not disappointed. It is a very, very nice computer monitor, and I am happy with my purchase.

1440p@100FPS is just a sight to behold. The curve sucks you into the game and it all looks beautiful. I also love the 100FPS for just normal desktop work stuff, everything moves very smooth!

Multitask to the max on a single monitor
Forget about the inconvenience of dual monitors - with the 21:9 ultra-wide screen you can experience truly seamless multitasking on a single monitor. For total flexibility, Samsung's Picture-by-Picture (PBP) function lets you connect two input sources using HDMI and DP while maintaining the original image quality. And with Picture-in-Picture (PIP) you can resize the second image to cover up to 25% of the screen and position it anywhere.
Greater viewing comfort with the world's most 1500R curved screen
More realistic colors with Quantum dot technology and sRGB 125%
Perfect multi-tasking with a 21:9 wide screen, PBP and PIP
Ultra WQHD resolution (3440x1440)
Curved like your eyes for proven viewing comfort
Samsung's 1500R curved screen with the deepest curvature amongst all other competitive products is precision engineered to match the natural curvature of your eyes more closely than any other monitor. In a study conducted by the Department of Ophthalmology at Seoul National University Hospital, the deeper curve resulted in reduced eyestrain among viewers compared to flat-screens or other less curved monitors. With Samsung Flicker Free technology and Eye Saver Mode reducing fatigue-inducing blue light emissions, you simply can't get a more comfortable viewing experience.
Ultra WQHD for incredible image detail and a wider workspace
Ultra WQHD enables a screen resolution of 3440x1440 - 2.5 times the pixel density of Full HD - that delivers razor-sharp images. The greater pixel density also creates a wider screen workspace, so you see more content at once without much effort scrolling and zooming when web surfing or viewing large files such as spreadsheets.
More accurate and life-like colors with Quantum Dot Technology
Supporting up to 125% sRGB color space, Quantum Dot technology delivers not only more colors than conventional monitors but also colors that are brighter, crisper and more natural - particularly reds and greens. And because every monitor is factory calibrated, you can be sure you always see the most accurate and life-like images.
An immersive viewing experience like no other
The 34" ultra-wide curved monitor gives you an immersive widescreen viewing experience like no other monitor. With its deeper curve enveloping your field of vision like an iMax theater screen with the deepest curvature amongst all other competitive products, the 1500R screen lets you enjoy the full cinematic beauty of movies and puts you right at the heart of all gaming action.
Best in class 3000:1 contrast ratio and minimal light leakage
Samsung's advanced VA panel technology minimizes light leakage across the entire screen - right up to the corners - and delivers a best-in-class 3000:1 contrast ratio for deep blacks. And with factory-calibrated gamma values and 6500K white balance you can be sure of lifelike colors from black to white.
Flawless game play
Packed with features to satisfy the most dedicated gamers, this premium curved monitor boasts a 100Hz screen refresh rate for minimal stutter, a 4ms response time for blur-free action scenes and AMD Freesync for silky smooth gameplay. And with Game Mode letting you instantly optimize screen brightness and contrast ratios, you'll also enjoy spotting your enemies faster in any kind of game.
Unparalleled sophisticated design
Effortlessly combining function and style, the 34" ultra-wide curved screen is bezeless on three sides enhancing its classy figure and seamless viewing. The glossy white rear casing, curving horizontally and vertically, incorporates a hatch to keep cables neatly stowed. And the anti-glare panel is supported on functional swing-and- tilt height adjustable stand that allows precise positioning for enhanced viewing comfort.
Built-In Speakers and Multiple Ports For All Your Entertainment Needs
Dual 7-watt speakers embedded into the display let you enjoy movies, games and online content without cluttering your desktop with auxiliary speakers or cables. And 2 HDMI, DP and 2 USB ports provide a high-performance multiple connection interface that lets you hook up PCs, game consoles, additional monitors and other devices with ease.
