i bought this product to try and monitor my power usage and control some small appliences. the power monitor never worked and always read 0, even when connected to higher power draw item. additionally, the app doesnt work very well and crashes/freezes often. i returned the product.

i'm a pretty big fan of samsung but the new website support for smartthings is atrocious. i've spent five minutes trying to find the manual for this outlet. nada.

the setup instructions were a bit confusing with respect to the color of the lights on the device, but once the app found them, they seemed to work okay. i had to reprogram them a few times for no apparent reason. the one annoying thing is that i keep getting the "new firmware is available" message (see photo) within the smartthings app and no matter how many times i click on it, the message won't disappear and it doesn't appear to actually update anything.

easily setup, but the smartthings app shows "new firmware is available" and will not update (even after clicking update. the app frequently shows an incorrect state (aka on when it's really off or vice versa). it's wonderful to have the ability to remote control devices.

The smart plug is really that unlike the competition. With the help of the app the features exceed expectations. Hope to see Samsung embrace this technology and give us the web access to data as well. That way the collected data stats can be shared or saved as a spreadsheet.

I was able to connect the wifi plug via the new Smartthings app. I was expecting to see it show up in my Smartthings classic app. It did not show up and there is not a way to manually add it because there is no listing for the wifi plug in the Classic App. I have about 30 devices connected via the classic app. I don't want to switch over to the new Smartthings app. I started using Alexa when it first came out and soon after started with Smartthings.

1. The included instructions say the device will blink red and green when you plug it in. It only blinks green. 2. The included instructions say to reset it, hold the power button until it blinks red and green. It only blinks orange. 3. The instructions say to add it using the app, select "add a device". The app only has "add a thing". 4. if you select "manually add a device" "smartthings" is not a choice. "Outlets" is a choice, but the Smartthings wifi smart plug is not something you can choose from there. 5. Letting the app search for the device, it never finds the device.

Tried connecting the device at least 6 times and each time it would load to 99% before failing to connect and telling me to send a report. Wish I could use it because it seems helpful if it worked
