Shopper : how do you get recordings to play on your computer?STEVE W : Good question; I have not had time to play with the camcorder yet; SorryDAN R : I returned this camera for poor quality video and other matters. As for capturing video to the PC, I use a flash card reader and download the file directly from the card. I am now using a Nikon P510 for both stills and video. This has been a great camera after getting a handle on using the P setting, and compensating on the exposure. Again, I use the SD card from the camera, and download to the PC through a card reader. Hope this helps with your question.ANDREW R : From the instruction manual: "You can perform the functions listed below by connecting your camcorder to your Windows computer with a USB cable and using the Intelli-studio editing software built into your camcorder. Main Functions Intelli-studio editing software’s main functions - Playing back recorded videos or photos. - Editing recorded videos or photos. - Uploading the recorded videos and photos to YouTube, Flickr or Facebook, etc. You can transfer or copy the files (videos and photos) saved on the storage media into your computer." ahhhhh...not so much.

I am a coach and using this camera to show players our games films. In doing so, I have to rewind frequently and replay a certain few seconds. The functions on this camera for doing so are so painfully slow and time consuming. Also, there is a big chance of skipping to the beginning of a scene instead of rewinding if you don't have a very steady hand. Ultimately, the buttons for FF & RW just aren't user friendly.

Gets the job done

I purchased this camcorder to create a short documentary video for a class project. I love the size of it and it's very easy to use. The zoom is amazing, but the auto focus can be a bit annoying because sometimes it doesn't focus when you zoom really close. The HD video quality was good enough but the sound recording isn't that great. Overall, though, I am very happy with this camcorder.

The Samsung HMX-F80 Flash Memory Camcorder (Black) is a way to record all of life's memorable moments. Whether you're a social media addict or simply like to make home movies, the F80 gives you the tools you need to do so, without breaking the bank. That being said, this camera embodies a "traditional" camcorder design. It also has a decent-sized 2.7" LCD, Intelli-Studio software built-in and features like 52x optical and 65x Intelli-zoom.

What it comes to recording resolution the F80 boasts 1280 x 720p 30 fps movie recording, with 1080i upscaling for viewing on your HDTV - via the camera's HDMI output connection. The F80 also takes 1.9Mp still images. Either way, video or still, the camera's image-making capabilities are powered by the 5Mp 1/3.2" CMOS sensor. Other features helping to make your memories into long-lasting recordings are Smart Auto, face detection, time-lapse, record/pause and Smart BGM 2, which allows you to add background music to your movies for playback.
