Since this SSD connects directly to the PCIe Bus, it isn't slowed down by any of the Storage Controllers and the actual Read and Write Speeds are very close to Samsung's Specifications. It has rock solid performance. I purchased it for my primary PC and it impressed me so so much that I purchased a second and put it in my Home Theater PC.

This is the main drive in my recently-built gaming PC, featuring an Intel Core i7 6700K and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Founder's Edition. The SSD is clearly the fastest component in my PC! Read and write speeds are about twice as fast as I need... I also use this PC for some light (I'm a hobbyist) photo editing, and reading/writing RAW files is extremely quick. Can't think of a better drive for my build!

The 950 takes almost no time to install, has no affect on airflow through my case, and works like a charm. Although, I haven't measures it, I would estimate, conservatively, that my boot time is approximately 3 seconds. I've heard that this format generates a fair bit of heat, but I've no issues so far. I'll update this review if I do.

I added this SSD to my HP Envy Phoenix 860 Win10 PC, which I am using for an HTC Vive VR setup. The PC came with a 2TB 7200RPM HDD. After installing the SSD in the M.2 slot (it is somewhat difficult to get to in the HP case), the improvements in system performance, bootup time, and read/write times are substantial. I highly recommend this upgrade, and especially the Samsung 950 Pro line.

This is as fast as it gets for the moment. It's not a lot of money for the value it adds, either. I have it installed in the M.2 slot on my ASrock X99 motherboard. I used Samsung's migration app to clone my existing SSD boot drive and it all worked out of the box. I thought my boot time was fast with my SATA SSD, but this thing is eyeblink fast (assuming you've fiddled with your list of startup items). I wanted the drive so bad that I went from a 1 TB SSD (my preferred size) to the 512 GB, which feels small to me. It's trival to manage the storage though, so it's copacetic. I've had great success with Samsung SSDs and I'me sure this will be a great upgrade..

Installed in my Intel NUC. Upgraded the BIOS to latest and machine saw SSD with default settings. I then loaded Windows 10 on it without issue. It is using UEFI boot. Samsung Magician sees it and said that it has current firmware. Only issue is that it is expensive. I would have bought a 128GB if available.

Fast, very fast! Finally, home PCs have reached the peak before they disappear from average users: with the new Skylake mobos paired with a NVMe PCI Express SSD as boot device the Operating System's booting time is all dependent on the software now...and you feel that it cannot catch up to the hardware anymore. Easy to install, clean PC layout, energy efficient. Slightly on the expensive side, but you have to pay for new technology. It is all recommended for people who want a PC for high end gaming, design and everything else. Enjoy! By the way, Adorama prices and especially delivery rocks...one of the best experience in the on-line shopping world!
