Does what I need it to do
I pretty much only buy Samsung TVs now. This one does not disappoint. 4K upconvert does not do much for an HD signal; will be interesting to see 4K content sometime. The sound from this TV is better (not as tinny sounding) than any of my other sets (range from 32" to 55" from 2 to 7 years old). The picture out of the box looks good; haven't had time to calibrate it. SMART Hub has some updated apps (Netflix in particular) are more user friendly and faster than older generation.
Outstanding LCD from Samsung
I have never taken LCD TV technology very serious due to it's annoying past limitations. I am surprised and happy however to discovery that Samsungs new line of LCD 4k upscaling models have all but eliminated these problems. The JU7100 has excellent black level, with no detectible edge light bleeding, and the PQ is outstanding. Good clean source looks awesome upscaled to 4k. Had I known it would look this good, I would have purchased the 48'' version instead of the 40'' I have in my bedroom. ...
