Purple Hue When Using Macbook Pro

when using the display as a secondary monitor. there is a purple hue that cant be fixed. on screen color adjustments cannot fix it and support could not offer any fixes either.

Lots of Pros and Cons

pros: - first of all like all other reviews, it doesnt have a mediocore or average screen quality. it's like a retina screen and it has a good color quality. so i think screen quality is very very good. - its so easy to setup and use. cons - only one hdmi is terrible. - mini dp is totally useless as most cables are made for receiving from mini dp and sending to hdmi. this needs receiving from hdmi and sending to mini dp. female/male issue. - there is no sound jack, you can not connect bluetooth speaker so you can not listen anything unless you listen from computer.

Cool design, horrible monitor...

i've had it for a few months now, and i'm annoyed by it more and more every day. the colors are horrible as it's not factory tuned. the viewing angle is so small, that the same color looks like a completely different color at the bottom or the middle of the screen. something blue would look purple at the bottom. i tried tweaking the colors but no luck so far. everything is off.

Great Product if it applies to you

i use this monitor primarily for editing, the ability to move it from a vertical position to a more level position within seconds is amazing to me. the only con to this is the mounting design and it does not adapt to many desks. the resolution is amazing! no dead pixels and the 5ms vs 1ms on monitors is unnoticeable, i'll never go back to a crappy 1080p 60hz after using this! 2 inputs is great, however instead of mini display port, i wish they'd use usb-c but you cant have everything i guess.

Great monitor, but with no 4K at 60 Hz...

love this monitor, but after the latest macos update (big sur - fall 2020), there is no way to get 4k at 60hz to work from my macbook pro. the monitor is recognized as a 61 inch samsung tv - that does not support 6-hz 4k, only 30hz... what to do? i have tried samsung support on twitter, but they do not get what i mean at all...

Versatile VA panel, just some quality issues

i like the versatility that it's mounting arm brings to it. it does save space but more than that, it helps bring the screen to whichever level one needs. my only concern was that in less than 3 months it developed a dot up top which appears to be a set of dead pixels. i ignored it as it was small. in another month, a black curve like mark appeared to the right. there is no damage to the screen, nothing hit it or anything but pixels seem to be dying. samsung support has been nice enough to provide a free repair service. i will update the review, if allowed, after the service is done. ideally i would like to buy another one but sadly they don't seem to sell them anymore.

NOT fully adjustable.

i decided to get this based on the description of adjustable height. this was false. i opened it today to discover that the arm is fixed. the 'adjustable' part is the base only. it 'adjusts' by swiveling down so that the monitor is about two inches from your eyeballs. my desk would need to be about 3 feet deep in order to use this monitor at a comfortable height. if i swivel it down so i'm not craning up to see it, it takes up my entire desk save for a measly 8 inches that my keyboard barely fits, and it means its literally 2 inches from my eyes. either way is completely unusable. i had zero notion that the arm itself would not be adjustable, or i wouldn't have bought it. and since i waited 2 weeks to open it, i cannot return it. lovely.

Question

I really want to buy this monitor but my desk is a piece of glass of aprox. 7 mm. I would like to know if its possible to fix the stand in a layer of glass and what is the minimum thickness for fixing the stand. Thank you.

Awesome Monitor (If You Have A Windows Machine)

This monitor is decent value for the price. Objectively, the best feature about the monitor is the design, although, Samsung claims it's bezel less, that's misleading. There are, minimal, bezels, but bezels nonetheless. The monitor is great if you are able to get it on discount. I got mine for about $260 with tax, which is fantastic. The panel is VA, and from my eyes, it's in between TN and IPS. Directly in front of you, the panel looks great, but shift off axis and there is a white ish tint, though it's not as bad as a TN panel. My biggest issue with the monitor is the poor support for MacOS. Even though the screen states that I'm running at 144hz 2k, the frame rate does not look as smooth as it could be, or as clear as it could be. I say as clear or as smooth as it can be, because I own a windows laptop too, and when I connect my windows laptop, text seems to look a lot crisper, as well as the animations look a lot smoother. The variance in performance between macOS and windows leads me to believe that the monitor is not optimized for macOS. So my overall verdict on the space monitor is that the stand is exceptional. I love adjusting the monitor to my heart's content. As I mentioned earlier, the biggest issue I have is the lack of support with macOS. Solely for gaming, this monitor is fantastic, and if you can get it on discounted price like me for $260, even better. Though, if you only have a Mac and you intend to use this monitor for work, I'd look somewhere else. This is due to the lack of optimization for macOS. I will keep the monitor as I bought it because of the great value, design, and the fact that it's a good middle ground for work as well as for gaming.

Amazing Value

I set this up last night and its HUGE! I had to add 7 inches to the rear of my desk to accommodate the size and the desk mount but its well worth it. The color and brightness are good for me and the clarity of 4k is a welcome relief from my last monitor. I don't understand any of the negative reviews. This is a $400 monitor and for that price it doesn't have competition that's even close. The stand, cable management system and overall design are fantastic. Well done Samsung! I'm very happy I made this choice

Screen came bent

Got the 27" version of this monitor, after plugging it in and turning it on I noticed that the screen looks curved, however, curved opposite of a curved display looks like, I ended up testing it on multiple machines with multiple cables and the issue still persisted. Samsung won't be replacing the device but repairing it even though it is 2 days old. Pathetic service as per usual

Great for Single Monitor setup only.

I have a Dual monitor Setup, I can't tilt sideways, also it won't support any mount. looked everywhere for after market mount. thinking on returning.

It sips energy.

I read most of the reviews and understood its limitations on the monitor stand adjustments. I just wish for a VESA mount converter. Having said that I love the monitor; it sips energy at 22W.

Great quality and picture BUT

Very well made and great picture. Was very let down to find out that you guys cheaped out on the cable though. For this price I expected to get both cable options. I should have read the information more carefully and not assumed. But at this price point it should include the display cable.

Not a monitor for Mac Computers

The monitor is now compatible with Apple laptops (MacBook Pro 2018 13"), The refresh rate won't go higher than 60hz but this monitor is capable of 144hz. I have called Samsung and they ask me to try with a PC or other device but I already tried with two apple laptops. This monitor can be great for other brands but not for apple users. Even the instructions for display resolution don't mention anything for Mac OS. @Samsumg - please provide in the description that this monitor is not compatible with Apple laptops.

Can't mount vertically. Good monitor, bad design.

Its a good monitor, Samsung is like Apple, trying to force people to just use theirs. This monitor can't be mounted to any other mount, the holes don't align. Most monitors are build to mount with a universal standard. The stand they supply don't rotate or there is no height adjustment. Very disappointed.

Misleading advertising

I bought the 27” model display at Best Buy a couple of weeks ago because according to Samsung’s site, as well as wal mart and Best Buy’s, this was supposed to be a bezel to bezel display and IT IS NOT. Every images on the sites shows it but it is not. EXTREMELY disappointed in this product. I’ve bought other Samsung products that I’ve loved. Not this one

Many Reasons to Stay Away

I’ve had this monitor for 2 days and there’s already a dead pixel. I’ve seen multiple other reports saying the exact same thing, which leads me to believe dead pixels after just a few hours of use might be common with this monitor. The bezels are actually pretty big on all sides - nothing like the images Samsung uses which are blatantly false advertising. Look up an in-person review on YouTube to see the real bezel size. You could find a much better monitor than this one: No VESA mount compatibility, no built in speakers, uses HDMI rather than USB-C despite being released in 2019, and feels cheap overall. Yet somehow they still charge almost $300 for this.

Almost in love with it but has a big setback

Really nice monitor, but already has a dead pixel 1 week into use. It would be the perfect monitor as it has excellent features: Freesync, 144hz, nice and bright panel, picture in picture. The color accuracy is good without tweaking anything and came with the latest update. However, already having a dead pixel for such an expensive monitor is unacceptable. I can excuse having only a displayport mini and an HDMI 2.0 rear I/O as I already use these inputs regularly.

Nice innovative Design / Bad macOS drivers

I love the clean design and the 144 hz refreshrate. Once you worked on 144hz you can't go back, unfortunately the entire market is dominated by the spaceship battlestation gamer monitors. I would have given this monitor a 5/5 star if only it worked properly in macOS. You can't download any drivers and macOS Mojave 10.14.6 doesn't properly recognize the S27R75. On my Macbook Pro 15" mid 2015 it's shows as a 30,5-inch with a resolution of 1920x1080. By default it sets the refreshrate to 60hz. Connected with a mini displayport cable I could set it to 120hz max. But after every reboot the refreshrate is set back to 60hz and the multiple display arrangement is lost. So after every startup you need to reconfigure the display! I am running Win10 as dualboot where I am able to use 144hz and the arrangement gets saved. The recommended LS27R75 icc colour profile is not good, way too purple. I used the Windows S32R75.icm profile in macOS where the colours look rather good. When I am going to calibrate the monitor it would be nice if the menu actually shows what gamma value it uses, instead of mode 1/2/3. I am not sure who is responsible for the drivers, Samsung or Apple, but please figure it out. I have updated the firmware hoping this would solve it. I noticed Freesync support has been added after the firmware update, it would be nice if this works. Compliments to the design department for finding a new typology with the monitor stand. For a next version it would be nice if the height can be adjusted. As retina became a standard for Macs, so should the 144hz refreshrate become the standard for any new monitor. It relieves eye strain and the brain has to work less hard filling in the gaps.

Samsung SR75 Great Space Saver

Recently I have acquired the New Samsung 27" SR75 monitor, and I must say, It was a great investment on my behalf, Not only is the Monitor relatively affordable, but the build quality possess a slick and distinguished design. Having the Ability to set up a 27" Monitor and not compromise any Desk space is a huge Benefit; especially for the average student, Employee, Home user, etc. The set up is very simple and straightforward, Adjusting the monitor settings is easy and simple to navigate through using the power toggle button; and If the monitor isn't needed, you can simply prop the screen at its highest point or bring the screen closer to the user for a more engaging experience. The quality of the 1440p display is a lot better than I had anticipated it to be when looking at the monitor from various angles the screen doesn't diminish like most LED monitors. The factory settings right out of the box are impressive, and do not require any adjusting really, with the exception of turning on the "Eye Saver Mode". Also, the picture quality doesn't lessen when the "Eye Saver Mode" is turned on, the refresh rate on the monitor could be a little better, however, this monitor is well suited for the office environment rather than for gaming use. The Stability of the Monitor could be a little less wobbly, I'm not much of an OCD Freak, however; I do have a cat that lays under the monitor and on occasion bumps into the SR75 making the screen wobble, not a big issue, but could use a little improvement. Another Benefit with this Monitor is the Cable Management, the little channel that is located on the back of the Monitor allows for the Y-cable to elegantly run down the spin of the monitor stand. The Y-cable design is an ingenious mechanism on Samsung's behalf, No one likes having excess cabling to clean up or zip tip together. Samsung took all the ache out of the cleanup portion and made the best Monitor option for Work, Play and space saving.

Probably the first monitor to respect workspace

I ordered the 27" space monitor from Samsung. I was taken aback by the ergonomic design by which I could adjust the monitor to a number of degrees of freedom. The design allowed me to mount it with clamps to my work table and thus saved on tones of space which is usually taken by the base of the normal monitors. In terms of resolution and display quality, its so clear that I would probably want to use it not just for work stuff but also maybe now or then see a movie. I dont think there is a comparable monitor in the market and is totally a no brainer to purchase for your home office. I am really happy with my purchase and recommend it to all.

Great design with a few minor quirks

This is a review for the 27 inch 1440p version of the Space monitor. Pros: Design - The design is beautiful. The mount, the hinge, the cable concealing, the thin bezels, everything. Setup - Simple as can be, attach the monitor to a desk, plug everything in and go. Cable Management - Usually not a thought for monitors, but it's an underrated part of this product for sure. Screen Quality - The monitor looks great in 1440p, the 144Hz refresh rate is perfect for gaming and the 1MS reponse time is great as well. Cons (mostly nitpicks - Color Accuracy - If you're using this for photo editing or something where color accuracy is VERY important , you may find better products in this price range. Viewing angle - Not the best, but not a big deal if you're using this in a standard desk setup. Ports - I would have appreciated a USB passthrough or Thunderbolt/USB C. Additionally, having only 2 inputs is a bummer as well. Overall I've really enjoyed using this monitor and would recommend it to almost everyone, unless you fall into a few niche scenarios. Samsung knocked it out of the park with this design at this price point, to go with these specs.
