I have had the player for a while whenever I play a Blu-ray Disc the second disc of the set never plays

I have one that is two years old. It has played about ten movies in its life. Paused a movie half way through and got a message "disc does not meet specifications." Called Samsung, tried different discs, powered down, reset settings and found the software was already up to date. Now I'm told I'm on my own. This blu ray player has never moved or been tampered with. I just bought a 50 inch TV, own a 75 inch, tablet couple of phones and a couple of blu ray players. I'm now done with Samsung.....you're absolutely.

Blu-ray movies look very good but 4k Discs just pause and skip like crazy, even brand new ones.

I bought this for my new 4k TV. Works well and is durable. The picture quality is great and I love that it has built in wifi.

bought this a 13 months ago and have used it 7 times played 1 bluray and conconnected to Netflix 6 times .now the red power light just blinks can not use it at all its JUNK don't waste your CASH

Used it three or four times, now when I turn it on, there are all these lines through the bottom of of the screen. It is not my TV, tv works fine with Apple TV and live TV. Tried using different HDMI cables, and inputs, it is definitely just a poor quality blue ray player that has conked out after watching three movies.

Only had it 13 months. Used it maybe 30 - 35 times. Just stopped working. No rhyme or reason just stopped working. Saw where others had similar experience. Was awesome when it worked but I thought Samsung would stand behind it instead they told me they could get me a repair price and a repairman. Could have bought two or three Blue Ray DVD players for the cost of this one.

I had originally bought this 4k Blu ray player when it first was available at best buy and had issues with it playing any Blu ray or 4k movies! But played DVD's just fine. So I returned it after about 2 years cause of this issue and had got a new one and now it's doing it again and everything is up to date!!? Complete waste of money in my opinion for only getting about 2 years out of it and I rarely used it and took extremely good care of it! Even Still has the plastic wrap on it. I'd give it 5 stars if this issue didn't keep occurring. I love Samsung products but this player is a total waste of money u unless you plan on buying a new one ever 2 years or so. Very disappointed with this player!

I bought this player after reading countless reviews of blu ray players from a variety of manufacturers. This was consistently rated the best by many. I have not been disappointed. It is responsive and displays impressive picture quality. However, there is a major flaw with the unit: its remote control. It is very small and nearly impossible to operate. Why design engineers would pair this remote with an otherwise superior player is beyond me. It is so bad I searched the internet for a replacement and bought a remote (AK59-00167A from an earlier Samsung model. It works perfectly. They should have left well enough alone.

I got a replacement for this model because some of my "homemade" movies wouldn't work, however the same problem with the replacement. What is odd is my old Samsung blu ray does play those same movies no problem. Other than this issue its a nice machine. The remote doesn't operate as smoothly as I wished (typing in info). All in all it is a nice player. when the movie didn't play there was no error message to research. Just a blank screen. That was concerning.

Happy with the quality of the product until remote stopped working. Finding out this is a common problem. Stopped working all of the time and getting worse as time goes on. Also not happy with the size of the remote larger fingers pushed multiple buttons at once.

This product works great with my new Samsung UN 7000 series TV. The picture quality is amazing, and the You’re a disks are awesome.

I had difficulty registering this player and I found its remote complicated. The registration on-line did not accept the SSN as valid. 40 minutes later and 3 phone calls I was able to get the company to acknowledge it was a valid SSN. The remote seems to be dependent on 'on-screen' visuals to control the fast fwd, rewind, back, pause, etc. The remote is very small thereby making hitting the right button to activate the ff, fwd, back awkward. The visuals stay on the screen for a few minutes and then disappear requiring a search for that button on the remote again. The player produces a very nice picture.

I bought this 4K Blu-ray player hoping to have a great picture. It worked for a little bit now it produces sound with no picture. As far as the apps it does not allow you to add any other apps so it only comes with Netflix for the price and the type of player it is you should be able to at least download more apps so after spending four hours on the phone with Samsung tech-support I needed to send it back it’s been almost 2 weeks and I still have no player.

The product actually great especially in UHD 4K mode. But the only issue right now for me is that it stopped working for no reason at all. I believe I've only used this for about 6x times watching 4K movies and now it does not turning on anymore (no power) Sadly it is now out of warranty :-(

My only issue so far is I have not been able to sign in to my Samsung account on the player, nor have I been able to access AmazonPrime to view their free movies. Not sure whether it is a wi-fi problem or that I can't scroll and choose the correct charcters on the on screen keyboard.

If you have fingers they are way too big to accurately use the remote. This alone is enough to ruin the experience of using this product.

Bought it for the new Samsung 4K TV. Works great. I see it has all the smart stuff, and so does the TV, so I haven't used the apps in the player. The remote is very miniature and hard to read with out glasses as well as replay just a small frame... 7 months and still trying to figure it out. It's wonderful to plug in a disk and the TV automatically turns to Blue Ray mode, love this intelligent feature!

Samsung has always been my go-to supplier of electronics. Their quality is consistently high and their prices are reasonable. The video and audio coming out of this unit are extraordinary! While the available 4K content is limited, this is certainly the way forward until or unless a new breakthrough in A/V occurs. The UBD-8500K was easy to set up using the enclosed optical cable. All of the applications that I wanted were already included. The application that I did not want were easy to remove. I used my Logitech Harmony so I have not had much experience with the included remote, except during setup. I am pleased with the quality of both DVD and Blu-ray playback.

Excellent player and features. Poor remote, too small hard to read, does not take standard batteries, bought a replacement. Player itself has no display, not up to Samsung's design standards..
