glenn w : is this led tv side lit?STEPEHEN R : Not sure what is meant by side lit. We've had two of these (or similar) for several years and they can both be seen from the side without any loss of picture if that is what you mean. We use one in the kitchen and the other as the porch TV during the summer. Hope that helps.
MELANIE N : I'm confused…does this TV come with the stand or does one have to buy it separately?MARCIA W : Yes it comes with a stand.
MELANIE N : I don't have cable TV, but do use a digital converter with an antenna, can I hook up to this TV using that? Also never had to use anything HDMI connections, will I have to get a separate "box" hook-up for that? Also need to hook up a DVD/VCR...My current TV as you can guess is REAL old with old-time means of connecting things, like RF for the antennaSTEPEHEN R : I have two of these TVs and have them both connected directly to the aerial antenna cable. No digital box needed in my application. The Samsung is hooked to the standard RF antenna since we live well out in the country and have no desire for 200 channels of cable or satellite nothingness. If you have multiple TVs on (or put on multiple Tvs on) your rf antenna, would suggest getting a signal amplifier as your "splitter" to boost the signals going to the separate TVs. I use a Channel Master with four outlets, but there are several brands.

Entirely Satisfied, very versatile performance

i have a large samsung tv in the living room, this has been in my kitchen for several years. it does everything i want. a variety of connection options, good image, very good viewing at angles. i couldn't find it at a retailer anymore, so, wanting to support brick and mortar stores, for my bedroom i settled for an off-brand at half the price. it has an adequate picture, is the perfect size, has lots of connectivity. but the picture virtually disappears if not viewed straight-on. that is not the case with this samsung, so that one is going back, and i want to buy the samsung. only one problem. apparently samsung no longer makes it.
