toni w : Is this a smart tv? can I watch streamed movies, etc netflix without cords plugged in and without a playstation 3 or wii?JAPHETH M : Hello, to answer your question, No this Tv is not a smart Tv. I access Netflix, Hulu etc etc using a Griffin Technology Mini display port to Hdmi cable for my macbook. Besides that we love the Tv. Im not a major tech head but I researched the best non smart tv's and this model had some of the most consistent highest ratings out there. If you desire a smart Tv though I would still stick with Samsung!OMAR R : No, the TV has no apps built in. But it has an excellent media player you can use to watch videos and other media files from a removable USB drive.

The tv is great. The only flaw I find is the "edge lit" feature. I think "back lit" is a little better. The only reason edge lit is annoying is when the screen is black and there are white letters on the screen. The screen switches back and forth between the edge lit lights and is noticeable. Other than that the tv is a great deal! Good luck!

40" Samsung Rocks!

Sound is decent, but someone really needs to solve the general mediocre quality of flat screens. Otherwise, we were very happy with our purchase. The TV was damaged in shipment and Adorama was very good with us about getting us a replacement.
