The monitor technology is very cool to experience in person. The natively supported games work ok and there's a plethora of community fixes that can be played on this monitor as well! The Odyssey hub takes forever to load though. The ghosting between eyes can get bad in high contrast scenes with high separation. Only the Eco picture mode is good for 3D, otherwise you'll get bad ghosting like in this attached picture. The AI 3D conversion for videos is a neat addition for DRM free content.

Tried the Samsung Odyssey 3D G90XF at home-mind-blowing depth without glasses! Eye-tracking keeps the 3D stable as you move, and games like Cyberpunk 2077 feel insanely immersive. But the sweet spot's small, and brightness drops in 3D mode. When it works, it's magic; when it doesn't, it's headache city. Cutting-edge, but not perfect in my opinion. Looking forward to this tech advancing and getting larger size screen dimensions.

Not sure if my display is just defective (with how bad mine looks that may be the case), but the 3D mode on this monitor looks terrible. I've tried Lies of P, Silent Hill 2, as well as 2d videos with the AI 3d conversion. The games have terrible ghosting, and it looks like the monitor drops down to 480p res once in 3d. I've confirmed it's running at 3840x2160, and I've tried reinstalling the 3d odyssey hub as well as updating firmware. I've tried the monitor on 2 different gaming machines (one with a 4070 ti, one with a 3080) same issue on both

I don't own a 3d compatible game yet, but the monitor still looks nice.

This monitor is absolutely outstanding. The combination of 4K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate delivers ultra-smooth, razor-sharp visuals that look stunning in every scenario. The colors are rich and accurate, contrast is deep, and motion handling is buttery smooth - ideal for both gaming and everyday productivity. The 3D feature adds a whole new level of immersion, making this display truly unique. Its premium build quality and sleek design look fantastic on any desk setup. Without a doubt, this is one of the best monitors I've ever used. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking top-tier performance and exceptional image quality.

The tech is amazing and incredibly impressive - movies look great as well. My biggest hope is that they open-source the 3D effect to allow other games like Rocket League to take advantage of the effects. Also, hopefully we'll see an OLED version in the future :)

This is my second purchase of the odyssey g90xf. One overseas and one for the mainland. This monitor is amazing. This new technology is the wave of the future and hopefully will be the definitive gaming and movie experience as we head into the future. Now we just need this technology on larger screens and tv's. Thank you samsung. Looking forward to the consistently improving hub software with updates! Easy setup, easy 2d to 3d transition when going full screen. Amazing picture quality and a solid design.

The 3D effect is extremely cool and really does add another level of immersion. Samsung has been adding new games regularly though at the time the library is not the biggest. However, you can play many many more not directly supported games in 3D through community efforts. Downsides are the performance overhead, the resolution split between two eyes playing in 3d and some ghosting with light objects on dark backgrounds. But these all come with the technology. Overall if you have the wallet, and beefy setup to take advantage of this hardware I really recommend trying this monitor. It makes me never want to play a "flat" game again.

Realized I ended up reviewing this on the wrong account. Overall, the 3D looks really really good, and it just pops. There's some minor caveats, with objects which are too close and also on the side of the screen. So the middle of the screen works perfectly fine, but side of the screen for very very close objects can only have one eye address that part of the image, making my eyes unfocused when that happens. Additionally, the HUD in Stellar Blade in particular looks off (and also like the interact symbols when talking to people), maybe cause it's not 3D or something, causing it to jut back in comparison to the actual images. Maybe it would be fixed if this was done in 3D? Not sure if it's a hardware or software limitation. The aiming marker when shooting is also kind of weird which makes the gun portions much harder. Finally, maybe some development of eye tracking (currently using face tracking) may be interesting since some background is very blurred when focusing on close objects (karakuri ending screen), but not sure if that would cause too much flickering or something. Overall though pretty revolutionary tech.

Love the monitor, the features are great 3d with out glasses is definitely amazing. I do wish samsung had better support for there software. They have no place to report software issues or crash reports. But I can't complain to much the experience when this thing works is out of this world.

I've had this monitor for a few days now and tested just about everything I could. It's been a long time since I've been this excited about a new piece of tech. When I first saw it, I didn't pay much attention. The price was high, the size was on the smaller side, and it's an IPS panel. I couldn't figure out why it cost so much and dismissed it as some boutique product that wasn't for me. When it went on sale for a deep discount, I decided to give it a closer look. I'm glad I did, because it's actually pretty awesome. No picture or video does the effect justice; you have to see it in person. On day one I tested it with a SBS 3D YouTube video, and within seconds I said "WOW!", laughed out loud, and even backed away from the screen as objects seemed to come flying out at me. 3D Blu-ray discs and other native 3D content are equally impressive. The officially supported games are also amazing, even though the list is still small. If you're technically inclined and have a high-end PC, you can get hundreds more titles working through third-party and open-source tools. The software does require patience. I've had to reboot, unplug and replug the USB cable, restart the app, relaunch a game multiple times, and adjust settings to get 3D to kick in. It isn't flawless. But it is improving: a new version dropped this weekend that nearly doubled the compatible games list and made things more reliable for me. So, is it worth the MSRP? At first I thought it was priced too high. After a few days, I can honestly say yes - it would've been worth it even at full price. This is the best 3D tech I've personally experienced. I hope adoption grows, because the more time I spend playing in 3D, the more it feels like this is how games were meant to be played.

This Samsung 3D monitor is awesome - the 3D effect works without glasses and really makes games and movies pop. The picture is super sharp, colors look great, and everything runs smooth with the high refresh rate. Even when I'm not using 3D, it's just a solid, premium monitor that's fun to use every day.

So just had it for an hour, just got it up and working and the 3d is really popping, which feels crazy. I guess there's still a limited support of some games, so I hope the software updates to keep up with the hardware, but this is some really cool tech. Some software QoL changes I would like however include: 1. Being able to keep this as a side monitor instead of main monitor 2. Apparently some people have had issues with the windows scaling? Checking this would be nice

This is a very impressive monitor overall. The 3d is something you need to see to believe. Still haven't decided my overall feelings on it and will update overtime. I can't wait to see more of what this monitor can do. Support is a little lacking at this time, but with mods there are a lot more. Love this monitor overall

The instructions to get this installed and functioning are non existent. While it brags about FREESYNC compatibility it has in the fine print 2D/3D AI conversion is only for NVIDA. OK fine. At least, allegedly it supports SBS content but no way to play it. If there is, where's the instructions on how to set it up? The HUB software refers to a details screen. WHERE IS IT? The software only allows to select a predefined list of a dozen titles and nothing else. There are no other options. GAMESCAN wont pick up anything. I cant watch or use anything 3D on this monitor other than the floating game boxes bc there are no instructions on how to set up a 2K DOLLAR MONITOR. ABSOLUTLEY TERRIBLE!!! I HATE THIS MONITOR. SENDING IT BACK. WAITED AND WAITED FOR IT only to have the worst experience bc they cant bother with instructions.

Recived this monitor yesterday. I've been playing around with it and as a normal monitor it's great, Color, Picture, and Audio are all great. Now the downside is the 3D software is tricky to get working (it took me 2 hours just to get it installed correctly) and when it is finally working there's alot of shimmering and ghosting until you figure out the sweet spot to sit/look at it from.

I was immediately drawn to this monitor after viewing an online video. As a keen enthusiast of 3D technology, I found it particularly appealing. The monitor is currently on sale and I have been very impressed with its performance. It also allows for customisation of 3D settings and the conversion of original 2D video content into non-DRM 3D. For gaming, a powerful computer is recommended. Please refer to the product description for Samsung's recommendations.

The Samsung Odyssey 3D is a really solid monitor, especially when it comes to the hardware. The 2D picture quality is stunning. Colors are extremely vibrant and the blacks are very deep, making the image pop in a way few monitors do. The screen itself is very bright, which really helps in both games and videos. Even the built-in speakers are better than I expected. They are loud enough for casual use and clear enough to not feel like a total afterthought. When it comes to 3D, the monitor really shines if you are using content that supports it, like certain games. The 2D to 3D conversion is surprisingly good as well, especially with fullscreen videos. I tested it on YouTube videos and it works really well there, giving a noticeable depth effect without being overwhelming. Ghosting and crosstalk are very low, which makes the experience smooth, and the eye tracking is excellent. It allows you to move your head freely without losing the 3D effect, which adds to the immersion. However, the software side leaves a lot to be desired. The Odyssey 3D Hub is very limited. It only launches games and does not support movies, still images, or 3D models, which is disappointing considering the monitor's potential. On top of that, the software crashes often and sometimes requires a full reinstallation, which can be frustrating. The Hub menu itself has noticeable ghosting, which is a bit annoying. On top of everything, the monitor is a bit pricey, which makes these software issues feel more significant. In short, the Samsung Odyssey 3D is a monitor with amazing hardware. The display quality, 3D effect, and features like eye tracking make it really impressive. The main issues come from the software, which is limited and unstable. If Samsung improves the software in the future, this could easily become one of the best monitors for 3D content out there. Even with the current software problems, it is still worth it if you mainly care about picture quality and 3D performance.

The 3D effect is very cool. After playing Palworld for a while with it turned on, I found it hard to go back to 2D. However, this is my first 4K monitor at 27", and it was extremely sharp when 3D was turned off. Some of that sharpness is lost when in 3D. If you have played with a 3DS game console before, the effect is very very similar. I found that it was still more enjoyable in 3D despite the loss in sharpness. With 3D turned off, the display is incredibly sharp. There are some minor lines you can see in the display, likely due to the layer that allows for 3D. However, it is not distracting/noticeable unless you are really looking for it at the edges of the screen at steep angles. It is not OLED, but the contrast is still excellent. I haven't had any issues with flickering or artifacts when G-Sync is enabled at 165Hz, something I had an issue with on a past Samsung monitor. The AI conversion from 2D to 3D is decent. It's not as good as dedicated media, but there is definitely depth.

This Odyssey 3D G90XF is gaming monitors at their pure premium - sharp 4K resolution on a 27" screen making the pixel dot pitch crisp, smooth 165Hz refresh, HDR10+ with punchy colors, and 3D - without glasses. What?! Even without OLED or mini-LED, it's a phenomenal panel and the glossy finish enhances depth and contrast. It's also nice and bright. The sleek metal chassis and subtle Aurora lighting make your gaming setup look sick! And it has surprisingly clear, loud speakers. Really clutch when you don't want to wear headphones. The true game-changer though here is glasses-free 3D. AI-powered 2D-to-3D conversion adds depth to games and video like on YouTube, while native 3D content like Side-by-Side videos and supported games - feels next-level. Watching a snake video, my kids and I literally screamed and leaned back. Gaming can be touchy through Reality Hub, but when it clicks, it's incredibly immersive - I even found myself reaching for objects. Can't wait for more native titles! Performance-wise, both my RTX 4070 laptop and RTX 4090 desktop handled it smoothly, though Samsung's can do a little better on instructions, it wasn't pointed out clearly that you need to have the USB connection from the monitor to the computer plugged in no matter what. Overall, the Odyssey 3D G90XF isn't just any another 4K monitor. it delivers stunning clarity for everyday use and a mind-blowing 3D experience without glasses. If you want to glimpse the future of display tech, this is it.

A very well done monitor that produces a remarkable 3-D image. Even though it is an IPS display, it produces very nice colors and has a good response time. The only thing that is currently letting this monitor down is the small amount of 3-D games that are verified by Samsung to work with this monitor. The ones that are there have really nice 3-D but Samsung will need to keep working on getting new games added to their verified list, especially new releases (maybe work with game developers to ensure 3D is considered from the beginning). Also PLEASE add a way to add 3D backwards compatibility to older games via the Samsung 3D Hub app that might not be officially verified, but so we can try playing those in 3D. That would increase the versatility and enjoyment of this monitor ten-fold.

$2,000. Yep, it's absolutely expensive. But I will not return this monitor. I am currently in love with it. Next-level 3D experience for gaming and beyond
By TechEnthusiastDave
I've been using the Odyssey 3D G90XF for a few weeks now and it's honestly a game-changer. The 4K resolution is stunning, the 165Hz refresh rate makes everything buttery smooth, but what really sets it apart is the glasses-free 3D. It's not a gimmick-depth feels natural, and eye tracking works so well that the 3D effect stays consistent as you move. Great for immersive single-player games, 3D content creation, and even watching movies. Setup was straightforward and build quality is solid. If ...
