The Sea & Sea MDX-GRD IV Underwater Housing for Ricoh GR DIGITAL IV / Digital lll Camera is a waterproof case enabling you to shoot beneath the water's surface with your Ricoh GR DIGITAL IV camera. It is compatible with the Ricoh GR Digital lll, as well, provided you switch off the AF fill light control. It has a depth rating of 180' (54.86m).

The housing provides access to virtually all camera functions via mechanical controls like levers and dials, as well as buttons. The camera's built-in flash is usable. The MDX-GRD IV is constructed from a solid aluminum-alloy block with a galvanized finish to make it highly corrosion- and abrasion-resistant.

The housing is equipped with a flat bayonet lens port. You can mount accessories to the front of this port. The No. 52116 wide-angle conversion lens for the DX-1G Compact Underwater Digital Camera can be screwed onto this bayonet to increase your angle of view to 85deg. It can be attached and removed underwater. Wide-angle lenses get you closer to your subject, thus cutting down on distortion caused by the water, while enabling you to fit more in the frame.

Dual fiber-optic cable sockets are available on the housing, permitting the attachment of an L-type cable so that you can fire an external strobe by the light of your camera's built-in flash (cable and strobe sold separately). A strobe is highly recommended, especially when using the wide-angle conversion lens for the DX-1G, since the shadow of the lens will appear in your image if the built-in flash is used alone.

The housing is equipped with a cold shoe mount for accessories such as strobes and video lights, which can be mounted via optional Mini Shoe Arm (29511), Hot Shoe Arm (29501), or SA8 Ball Base for Accessory Shoe (22120). There is also a tripod mount, as well as a screw mount allowing for the attachment of an optional SA8 M10 Fixed Ball Base, which will give you various lighting options.
